Lady Georgiana Rannoch juggles secret missions from the Queen, her beau, and her mother in this mystery in the Royal Spyness series. When royal sleuth Georgie Rannoch receives a letter from her dearest friend Belinda, who’s in an Italian villa awaiting the birth of her illegitimate baby, she yearns to run to her side. If only she could find a way to get there! But then opportunity presents itself … opportunity presents itself in a most unexpected way—her cousin the queen asks her to attend a house party in the Italian Lake Country. The Prince of Wales and the dreadful Mrs. Simpson have been invited, and Her Majesty is anxious to thwart a possible secret wedding.
What luck! A chance to see Belinda, even if it is under the guise of stopping unwanted nuptials. Only that’s as far as Georgie’s fortune takes her. She soon discovers that she attended finishing school with the hostess of the party—and the hatred they had for each other then has barely dimmed. Plus, she needs to hide Belinda’s delicate condition from the other guests. And her dashing beau, Darcy’s (naturally) working undercover on a dangerous mission. Then her actress mother shows up, with a not-so-little task to perform. With all this subterfuge, it seems something is bound to go horribly wrong—and Georgie will no doubt be left to pick up the pieces when it does.

I enjoyed the whole series; characters are well developed.
Very well written!
I’ve read just about everything that Rhys Bowen has written! She’s definitely a favorite author of mine. All the books in Her Royal Spyness Series are so much fun to read! The characters are engaging and each book has a great plot that keeps you turning pages. I highly recommend!
Love this entire series.
I look forward to new books
Love this series. Wonderful characters.
Cozy mystery. Great series. Lovable characters.
Fun read!!
slow moving but the plot was interesting.
I like this series set mostly between the wars. It’s interesting to read about the Duke of Windsor and his love interests. Also the political maneuvering during this period. A good read!
Fun but predictable
I enjoyed this book. I love how Georgie is getting braver and speaking up more. I enjoyed the puzzle and how Georgie was the one who figured things out. I also liked the happy ending she arranged for her friends.
Should be able to to give all her books 10 Stars plus
Love her sense of humour
Quick, light read. UK based stories, just a romp.
The female protagonist is a ditz…I tend to dislike stupid heroines.
Previous books in the series were better
Historical background, romance, intrigue. Enjoyed the whole series.
Light, entertaining, mystery but missed Georgie’s loyal but goofy ladies maid, Queenie and her antics. And if Queen M
ary keeps sending Georgie on “missions” she (the queen) should at least spring for a decent wardrobe.
I just discovered this series and am enjoying Lady Georgiana and her adventures. …love Queenie!
Loved it. This is a great series for fun and entertainment.
