Free spirit. Determined. Destined for greatness. These were all words used to describe me once upon a time. I was an elite gymnast on the fast track to success. I sacrificed everything for my future, including a social life. My friends didn’t understand, boys called me frigid, but I would prove them all wrong.A single date changed it all for me. One night with Nate Carter tipped my entire world … world tipped my entire world off its axis. Black and white turned to gray as lines were crossed and promises I’d made myself years ago were broken. He sent me into a downward spiral that only my brother could save me from. That is, until I met Evan…
It’s amazing how a few words can change your outlook on life. A kind gesture can make you see the beauty around you, and teach you to believe in yourself. Evan did that… he healed me and taught me to fly again.

On Broken Wings is a good read. It’s book seven in The Witness Series but it can be read as a standalone. Jenni had some things that happened in her past that shape they way she is now. She’s in college. She doesn’t trust easy and has huge hard walls up. She’s a tough cookie to crack. We get to read about her past so we know exactly what happened to her. My heart went out to her and I wanted to just give her a hug. Evan’s a good guy. He goes to the same college at Jenni. He has some classes with her. He’s drawn to her and doesn’t give up in trying to get her attention. He keeping a very important secret from Jenni and I was kind of nervous about how it would all turn out when he secret came out. There was a part or two in the story where I would have liked a little more but overall this was a good read.
Finally we get Mason’s sister’s story! After getting to know a little about Jenni and what happened to her in Mason’s book, I was so excited that we got to understand and learn more about what happened but also get her HEA! Moving on in life after a traumatic event in high school that forever changed her life, Jenni is extremely guarded and reserved. She focuses on school and work and doesn’t do much else outside the two, but when she meets Evan at school, while she’s attracted to him she believes he will leave just like the rest of the men that try to make a move on her after she doesn’t give them the time of day. Thankfully Evan is not most guys, and he continues to peruse Jenni with everything he has and unbeknownst to her, he is familiar with her friends and employer. Using that to his advantage, he gets his in with her and she finally lets him in. But when his true identity becomes known after Jenni’s worst nightmare happening, Jenni returns to the shell she once was, unable to compartmentalize what happened. But Evan knows not to give up on her, and through the help of their friends, he is able to get to Jenni and explain everything, and I’m so glad she gets her HEA!!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A brilliant story of heartbreak and healing. A bittersweet end to this remarkable series. Jenny survives a tragic event but at what cost. Will she be able to overcome this debilitating anxiety with the help of her brother? And then Evan enters her world. Will the beauty and gentleness be enough to heal her and bring her back to life? You will not walk away untouched and if you haven’t already, it’s time to catch up on this riveting series.

This is Book 7 in The Witness Series and is Jenni’s story. It can be read as a stand-alone but I recommenced you read Say You Remember first for more of the backstory of some of the characters for a better understanding.
These characters and their story is absolutely amazing. Jenni has trust issues, especially when it comes to men. When Evan won’t give up on her she ask for her brothers help to know if he’s a “good guy” or not. Somethings people are hidden so well others can’t find out. Finding love when they weren’t looking changes everything. They both have secrets… some will bring them closer while others tear them apart. Their story is full of romance, heartbreak, secrets and so much more.
Highly recommend this book and series.
