Life for Sasha isn’t getting easier. She has survived run-in’s with monstrous Dulcha, lived through an abduction, and even made it past Charles’ constant badgering for sex. But if she thought the hurdles of this new life were behind her, she was dead wrong.
When the Regional comes to … wrong.
When the Regional comes to visit Stefan’s clan, the pressure increases. Sasha finds herself on a giant scale, assessed for her magic and held in the balance. If she doesn’t have the magic Stefan hopes, she could find herself on the street while still in grave danger. Even with a favorable outcome, however, her inability to use her magic presents a road block not easily crossed.
No, life is not getting easier.
Stefan feels the heat, too. He must finally declare a mate, and admitting his desire for a human is the worst form of taboo. He could jeopardize not only his place as leader, but his and Sasha’s lives. His decision is like walking on a razor’s edge.

‘On a Razor’s Edge’ is book three in K.F Breene’s Darkness series. This story continues on from ‘Braving The Elements’. Recommend reading it prior to this.
The Regional has come to asses Sasha’s magical abilities and Stefan’s choice for a mate. Sasha must learn to control her magic before someone gets hurt, especially with Trek and Andris determined more than ever to get Sasha. An alliance between Stefan’s people and the Mata (Shape Shifters) need to be formed if there is hope for success, but with so much history between them it’s not going to be easy.
A new type of “human” species is introduced in this book, although a lot isn’t explain about them, they however are a pack made up of different animal shifters, bear, “cats” and wolves, etc. This book was fast paced with another explosive fight, new levels of relationship between Stefan and Sasha, friendships and secrets revealed.
It’s very hard to write this review without giving any of the plots and twists away but please read this series. I was recommended it through a Facebook group I’m in and I can say I’m throughly enjoying it.
So many scenes stick out in this book but the one that I feel deserves a mention is when Sasha is being assessed with her magic abilities. It had me in stitches with the reactions when things wouldn’t go right (as per Sasha’s way), then heartache when she used White magic. But the one that had me hysterical was in the room after the freezing incident with her shield and the guards lol. Cryptic I know but if you go and read the book you’ll understand.
Still enjoying this series and I can’t wait to see what’s next, so I’m off to go and read ‘Demons’.
FYI there is intimate scenes in this book so recommend it for mature ages.
The more I listen to the series the more I end up falling in love with the characters. I love Sasha and Stefan’s character and amazing chemistry. Sasha tries to learn to control and harness for talents danger looks right around the corner. Diving into the next book! Absolutely love Victoria’s narration!
The darkness series is entertaining and just fun.
In ‘On A Razor’s Edge’ we get to meet the ‘Mata’. They are shape shifters, or just ‘shifters’ to many of us PnR junkies Stefan & (Grumpy/Possible Bad Guy) Jonas both seem have massive issues with them that Sasha just doesn’t understand!! We don’t find out why in this book, hmmm
The Regional & his Mage arrive to measure Sasha’s power level & she is terrified of letting Stefan down!! As per usual her magic doesn’t react in the way it should when she does the same casts as others, some scary & hilarious things happen
This is a book of cementing relationships and making new bonds & allies. It is littered with the wondrous humour we love from this Author. The twists & turns look like they are going to be coming thick & fast so I anticipate the next book being tense!!!
