Moving from the city to a small town, Shailyn knew things would be different, but she didn’t realize how difficult it would be. When the town leader makes it obvious he does not agree with omegas using heat suppressants, and his son decides to cancel her order for more, she’s left with no choice but to make a trip back to the city to get some before it’s too late.Alone.She wouldn’t let their … their outdated views suppress her right to choose.
This is a slow burn, omegaverse novella. There are detailed scenes and situations that may make some readers uncomfortable.

Honestly it was just too short I wanted more.
This is a well written, enjoyable short Omega story. Shailyn is new to the town and has her own ideas of how Omegas should be treated and fights for their rights. Still, she finds herself mated to an Alpha but is not forced – she chose him and that is what she fights for in this little town.
This was a very good story. It has some drama with a bit if suspense. Mike Kuhlman’s narrative of the story made it extremely interesting. He adds so much to it with his easy flow of the voices and clearness of the words. It was well written and the flow of story was very good. At times Shaylynn was a bit childish but as the story progresses we see her growing. It is definitely worth reading!!!!!!
Unique plot in a steamy omegaverse
This was a really good story. I liked that the main point was protecting one has from violent alphas and giving them choices and control over their bodies. The FMC was a firecracker and she changed her world. This was definitely worth the read and is like to see more of the world this author writes.
I’m in love with this authors writing… and when I found out she was writing another book I had to have it.
Is this a HEA… no… but that’s okay with me. The fact that omegas in the new town are mistreated… reminds me of how woman are mistreated. And though I’m not thrilled… cause I’m waiting for MORE…. I loved it!

This is my first time reading this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I’ve read a number of omegaverse book and I enjoyed this author’s take on the genre. It’s very well written and entertaining from start to finish. I’m looking forward to more book from this author.

So I originally read this story because it was in an anthology “Hate To Love You”. This story was a great surprised at the time since the author never gave any heads up that she was working on an Omegaverse novella. It is set in a more contemporary time frame so it’s a lot easier on the imagination. Anyway…below is my original review for this story. Definitely not to be missed.
“I really enjoyed it as it’s an Omegaverse story, which is a wonderful surprise as I was not expecting it. It’s a genre that I am really into at the moment. In this story, Omega Shailyn’s family moves to a small town from the big city. There she meets Alpha Draven and the two basically starts off on the wrong foot. There’s sexual interest but due to their different beliefs regarding Omegas, they clash every time they interact with one another. Enjoyed every moment of this story.”
I enjoyed reading this delightful slow-burn omegaverse novella, it has a well-paced plot that is quite intriguing with some unexpected situations. The main characters are inclined to be quite strong-willed individuals & they continue to develop throughout the story-line.
There is: a young omega female (Shai aka Shailyn) tries to suppress her heat so that she can choose her own mate, naturally there is a bit of a disagreement with a town elder (Roan) & his son (Draven) & from here the story begins, drama, some twists, action, family issues, opinionated attitudes, friendship, manipulations, vulnerability, some violence, apologies, regrets, compromises, heat issues, nesting, bonding, contentment, some steam & a satisfying conclusion.
I liked this quick little read. It is dystopian Omegaverse but still feels kinda modern. And it is funny how even in this book you see the difference from city to country on how people feel about things. I liked both MC’s as well. They are both very likeable characters. My only complaint is I wish the book had been longer! This author is one of my favorites and I love her work. So I wish there had been more!
liked this story. girl moving to a new small town from the city. while she finds there are some pros to moving to this smaller town she is finding there are also a few draw backs to this town. the Alphas want things more traditional then the cities and the omegas have little if any choice. Shailyn is determined she is gonna do something about it to help the other omegas in this town.
I wish the story had been a little longer to get more of the back story on a few of the characters and i would like to have known what happened to the villains in this story. but the author was working with a word count cap from what i understand. so maybe she will revisit this story or make a series of it and fill in some of the details that weren’t there.
anywhoooo….grab this story its a heartwarming tale not to be missed!
It’s definitely a quick read, only 68 pages I think. Though short, there is enough of a plot to see growth and change in the characters. FMC learns not Alphas are created equal while the MMC sees the world of the Omega a little clearer.

I enjoyed this short story. It was well written, with well constructed sentences and few if any typos. The world building of this story was interesting, with the world being close but not quite like our contemporary world. The characterization in this story was a little uneven, with the heroine being a vibrant individual and the character of the hero doing a complete abrupt flip from being a terrible person to being a good man. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending, but I personally didn’t like that the heroine ended up with the hero. I didn’t believe in his change of heart and thought she could have done much better. Part of that could be a function of how short the story was. There was plenty of excitement and action in this story, with the plot moving quickly and several villians being vanquished. I would recommend this to fans of m/f omegaverse romances.

I haven’t read a ton of omegaverse but there is theme present in more than a few, a plot thread that usually unfolds in a manner that is somewhat predictable. Leann Ryans put a nice twist on it, taking me by surprise. Shailyn comes from the city, moving to a small town with her parents to open a bakery. Taking suppressants is common in the city, helping omegas go about their lives without fear of their bodies. The biology of alphas and omegas put omegas in such a vulnerable position and Shailyn has no interest in returning to that. So when the town elder and his alpha son Luke discover this practice, it is a huge source of friction. Shailyn is a bit of a hothead which was nice to see since omegas are mostly subservient or at least in no position to express their anger. Luke comes across at first as just another arrogant alpha who knows what is best for an omega. They both have some growth and maturing to do and I was very pleased with the outcome. I do hope this author continues this series, I would love to see some other stories take place in this small town.
Loved the strong willed heroines Shailyn. Honestly thought Luke was going to be this privileged jerk alpha, but Leann has a twist at the end made me want more of these two. I hope Leann Ryan’s continues their love story.
