All things must end.I learned that lesson the day my mother died.My step-mother was wicked. My step-sister, cruel. It was a relief when I revealed as an Omega because it was a chance to escape. But it wasn’t the end of my troubles. What happens to Omegas is a secret. And my troubles had just begun.“I can save you from one monster, Verity,” Lilly said when she accepted me into the program. “But I … one monster, Verity,” Lilly said when she accepted me into the program. “But I cannot save you from them all.”
True to her word, she saved me from my step-mother.
Then Woodrow entered my life.
And I realized he was the other monster Lilly had warned me about.
Publisher’s note: Omega Awakening is a prequel to the Controllers Series. It contains explicit scenes, triggers, manipulation/mind games, and dark themes.

The Alpha that stopped at nothing to get what he wanted, and he REALLY wanted Verity. Cue smexy times. I highly recommend! ~Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As always L.V. Lanes delivered a poignant story with powerful characters. No apology Alphas and intelligent Omegas who bring out the Beast. Smokin hot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book did not disappoint in any aspect but it is not for the feint hearted. A true Alpha and Omega story with all the gritty relationship which goes with it. The story line has been well thought out and the characters are real. It was not hard to lose myself in this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Really cannot recommend highly enough! Cannot wait for the next one!

I loved the cinderella theme that this story has. Verity, the omega heroine is damaged by an abusive relationship with her stepmother. Woodrow the older Alpha is dominant and ruthless. I was immersed in the story from the first page. I enjoyed the insight into Verity’s life and how she becomes an omega. I also loved how protective Woodrow was even while being controlling and manipulative. This book takes place right before Lilly from the Deviant series becomes invested with Ryker and Ethan and it’s a great glimpse into Lily’s background. LV Lane is one of my favorite authors, I will continue to read everything she writes and will be rereading Omega Awakening very soon!

The writing and editing of this novel was clean, with no typos that I found in the ARC version of this manuscript and quite pretty sentences. The world building was a vibrant character in itself, with the Empire and the viral program coming to vivid life. The characterization was excellent, with both the hero and heroine being charismatic, gripping characters. The spicy scenes made my Kindle smoke, and the kink elements were very well done and hot. The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, and I bought into these two character’s HEA at the end, which does not always happen for me with dark romance. The plot and pacing were quite exciting, with me rapidly turning pages to find out what was going to happen next! There was medium angst in this novel which was fully justified by the plot and heroine’s history, and very high stakes that I always prefer in my romance novels, what with the Uncorrupted invasion. This novel used the Daddy trope, and the Mate Bond trope common to omegeverse romances. The world building, plot, and pacing all rated five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship also rated five stars. This novel ends on a Happy Ever After ending that I fully bought into instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus, especially considering a lot of m/f omegaverse novels are trilogies with cliffhanger endings, which is one big drawback of the sub-genre. I recommend this novel to fans of dark sci-fi or m/f omegaverse romances. I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel, for sure.

The author did a great job with this book. It was well written. It’s not really what I normally read, but I did enjoy it. Alpha and Omega, if you’re into that kind of stuff, you’ll love this book. A little warning, the beginning starts of kind of slow. Don’t let that stop you! Wow does it ever get better! I normally read after I go to bed, well let me tell you! I took some comfy pillows out to my swing, and finished the book. It took me all day, but I did it. That’s how great it is. And it’s not even my normal read! It has piqued my interest for a sequel. It’s a bit BSDM (at least I think so), again not my thing. But it’s a very well written book. Can’t mark off the starts because it’s not my thing. The author wrote a great book. The story is well written. I found no typos. There is nothing to find fault with. So, don’t hesitate to pick it up. If it got me, you’re going to love it!

Verity’s life at home is dreadful, her step-mother and sister treat her like dirt, and the only way for her to escape her situation is to become an Omega at the Research Center on Tolis.
Woodrow is an Alpha looking for an Omega to claim, and he will stop at nothing to get the Omega he wants … and he wants Verity.
This is a wonderful addition to L.V. Lane’s Omegaverse world in the Controller’s series. Woodrow is everything you expect of a ‘retired military’ Alpha, strong and commanding. Verity is thrown into the deep-end with Woodrow and needs to find her way in navigating the new Dynamic world with her Omega hormones, emotions, and Singularity. No one can write an action and love scene the way L.V. Lane does, and here we see the softer side of na Alpha-Omega relationship.
Don’t miss it!

really liked it
If you have meet Lily, Ethan and Ryker, Omega Awakening happened only shy couple of months from their story started.
Now about this book.
The characters feels slightly different. One of the thing I love from Lane, she bring to life a dominant Alpha that can be very annoying with their agresif nature. And omega who’s naturally submissive but make no mistake of how strong and sassy they can be.
In Omega Awakening, Woodrow is that domineering Alpha. He’s smart bodering cunning and deceptive. He’d do anything to have his omega. But one thing that I can’t remember other Alpha do is how Woodrow won’t force the heat on his omega. That’s one consideration I love about this Alpha.
That and the fact he’s a silver fox
And Verity.
She’s abuse child. Abandon by her father who grieved after his wife died, he put blinders for step-mom and step sis abuse to Verity.
At first I feel she’s bit Meek and too naive as new omega. And so sensitive as an empath omega. Her fragility doesn’t move me.
But then I realise her silent is her strength. She feel so much. She absorbed so much, her calm is her strength. Until all she bottled up come to its limit. Then her power show them self.
A Cinderella omega and a alpha silver fox whose not really charming, Omega Awakening is another book I love from this author!
This is my first time reading this author and I was drawn to the book due to the blurb. The author has written a wonderful story that flows really well. The characters have some depth to them, and their relationship is very well developed throughout the book.

I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of this book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I normally choose books by covers which grab my attention. I was interested in what the cover represented. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the book. I’m normally not one for Alpha, Omega somewhat sci-fi books but this book kept my attention and had me wanting to know what happens next. Verity is this shy girl with inner strength she has yet to realize. She reminds me of Cinderella in a way. Verity has a lot of heartache and a lot of past negative. I am an emotional empath and I felt such sadness for Verity. I wasn’t too sure about Woodrow but after a while I started to like him. This book is emotional and page turner and left me breathless. A must read!
if you think you know the story of Cinderella, you’re wrong …..
i absolutely loved this story! it was a beautiful retelling of Cinderella. Verity is such a still and quiet girl. she suffers in silence from her abusive childhood. nobody realizes how strong she really is. everybody takes her silence as being frail and weak. never realizing how much strength it takes to be silent thru all the hurt and pain that is being inflicted on somebody’s soul. until that moment when we have had enough…and everybody reaches that point sometime or another when enough is enough and it all explodes free…shattering everything in its path. and she realizes how strong she really is…such a beautiful story. about the lessons of life, and learning she has the strength to deal with them.
“Lessons, there were always lessons.”
L.V. Lane has a fantastic imagination when it comes to story telling. In her world of Omegaverse comes with an awakening of talent or non talent and verity of dynamics and of course you also have non dynamics. The story starts of with Verity, her mother dies when she’s a child. Her father remarries a beta by the name of Gracie who has a younger daughter, Lucile. Gracie and Lucile mistreat Verity harshly. Gracie wants Verity out of the way completely so she takes her to the research center program where basically they force the awakening on Verity instead of becoming naturally with time. After her forced awakening Verity’s talent shows her as an omega with Empath singularity. The Empath’s are very rare and are high demand, also they are not to be used for war due to their sensitive senses, so no controllers are assigned to them, but more like a life mate is selected.
Woodrow is all dominant alpha male, who has been looking for an Empath, when he found out about Verity, he was going to get her no matter what, and as an alpha they always get what they want! He’s much older then Verity, so he’s experienced life in ways she will never experience as far as being in war. Towards the end of the story there was a surprise, not only is she an Empath but also a psychic, which the Empire can not find out or her fate might be used for something else and Woodrow will protect her from anything like that! I really enjoyed this story and it’s the prequel before Lilly’s story takes place of her and her controllers.
I have enjoyed all of the books in the Controllers series and this prequel is another huge hit. Woodrow is an older alpha, and he is a bit underhanded in his pursuit of Verity. Despite his dominant alpha actions to make Verity his omega he seemed like the perfect mate for her. The bond that develops between them is solid, and the affection and care that he shows Verity won me over. This Cinderella story pulled me in from the start. I loved how Verity learned life lessons as she went along and how her “awakening” took her from a young broken girl to a strong and enticing omega. This story had less of the war story, but it did give some more back story of that world and introduced a few of the main characters. If you like Omegaverse stories you definitely need to read this one.
I liked this book and the story of Verity and Woodrow. So if you like Omegaverse books, I recommend this one. It has all the peculiar things that define the Omegaverse world like dominating and hot Alphas, heat cycles, knot, rut,.. and hot sex. And this book has a lot of steamy scenes.
The starting of this story is a bit like Cinderella, Verity is having a hard time while growing due to her stepmother and stepsister. She’s good-hearted, shy and beautiful although she has always been told the otherwise. When the program for possible Omegas gives her the possibility to escape her life, she chooses it with little hesitation. And from here, her life start changing.
Verity not only has to deal with her body awakening her omega instincts but also with her emotional state because she finds some possible allies and foes. Woodrow is a powerful alpha male that doesn’t hesitate to make everything he can to get Verity for himself and here starts a hard time for Verity and this alpha trying to know each other in more than the physical way.
I enjoyed the main characters and also Dr. Lilly but missed a bit of subplot regarding the society they live in and the conflict they are living in. But since this is my first book in the Alpha Control series this could be the reason I missed some details.
*I voluntarily reviewed this book for an honest review*
Each story gives of more of the world of the Uncorrupted and those changed by the Copper virus. Each gives a little bit more of a glimpse of a special type of omega. The author as given is stories of the Psychic type omega, the healer, Dr. Lilly who cares an enhancer in her blood. Now we finally get a story of the Empaths that has been talked about in prior books.
These omegas are different because they don’t go to war. They are special in that the can sense the needs of their alpha. Such is the life that is destined for Verity. After a lifetime at the hands of a cruel stepmother, Verity was hoping that things would get better once she became an omega. But monsters are everywhere and some take what they want. So when Verity finds herself curiously drawn to an alpha and then taken to mate. Can it all be too good too be true or can it really be love?? Can Verity have finally found her HEA??
I love this series. I love and hate that the author has the A/o dynamics going to war and being used as part of a war effort. It’s so unique. The conflicts that not only arise from the dynamic relationships but putting them in that situation makes for some entertaining backstory. I really hope there is more stories to come. Like more about the Uncorrupted. . .

I received an ARC copy of this book. Upon reading the opening page, I knew it was going to be a book I would get lost in and couldn’t put down!
This book is very different from what I normally read and that’s what definitely drew me in. I often felt like I wouldn’t be able to keep up, but OMG it was very easy to piece everything together and keep up.
The story flowed very nicely together, you were given a reference guide in the beginning should you find yourself not understanding words used in the book, the characters were all entwined together to create a very intriguing plot!
This is your modern day Cinderella mixed with something more (I don’t wanna spoil it)! Verity and Woodrows story is hot as hell and so very loving that I need more (just as Verity needed more).
Verity experienced loss at a very young age. It seemed that everything continued to go downhill from that day on. Having an evil stepmother and sister didn’t help in her journey. Her father didn’t know how to help her so she turned to the one thing that could get her away from it all.
Woodrow knew from the moment he laid eyes on her that she would be his in every way. As an Alpha, he knew what she needed and felt he was the only one that could deliver!
Their relationship started out brutal but turned into something so much more! Situations arose and they often grew apart but always found their way back to each other.
The events leading up to the ending would suggest that this is not the end but only the beginning and I will be there for the ride!
Do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK! Trust me you have not read a grown up version of Cinderella until you’ve read THIS one!
Omega Awakening might be my favorite book in L.V. Lane’s Alpha Control series. A few of the characters from the books made an appearance in this story, and I loved how more of the overall back story and character personalities were fleshed out. Our new Omega, Verity, has lived a tragic life after the death of her mother: absent father, cruel step mother and sister, crippling self doubt and no self worth. Add to that her awakening to her Omega dynamic by the hands of the sadistic Errison Tsing. Enter Woodrow Brock, Alpha anti-hero, former Controller and Special Ops director. The Alpha that stopped at nothing to get what he wanted, and he REALLY wanted Verity. Cue smexy times. I highly recommend!
I honestly love this author. I’ve visited this world before with the Controllers Series, so I was happy to return to Tolis and Chimera and the people we had met before.
This book can be read alone or as part of the Controllers Series.
Our tale begins like a Cinderella story.
Verity is our Omega, an empath. She is abused physically and emotionally by her step mother and step sister. Her fathers grief over the loss of her mother leads to his emotional abandonment.
Woodrow is our Alpha, a hunky Silver fox!! We see his cunning and resourcefulness when he decides that Verity is his Omega. Nothing will stop him from claiming her.
This story centers more around the couple than any external strife. Mostly. It takes Verity a while but she finally accept that Woodrow loves her and wants to care for her.
I definitely recommend this book and the whole Controller Series.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adore the amazing world that L.V. Lane has built in The Controllers series. Omega Awakening is another installment in the series which works sort of as a prequel. This story is somewhat different from the other books in the series, while at the same time retaining all the elements that make the series a must read. Omega Awakening is an omegaverse take on Cinderella, except instead of a glass slipper we get an alpha knot! The relationship is at the center of this story and it doesn’t have all the sci-fi war action present in the other books. I felt that this worked really well and created an emotional and poignant tale of loss, love and redemption. I loved Verity. In the world where omegas only have an illusion of choice, she has even less than that. Verity is so broken yet has a core of quiet strength. She appears much older than her 18 years and that’s what maker her a good counterpart for Woodrow. Woodrow is alpha to his very core, willing and able to do whatever it takes, not matter how corrupt and underhanded, to get what he wants. He schemes and manipulates, but I somehow just couldn’t hold any of that against him. The love, caring and patience he shows Verity more than makes up for the methods he may have used to get her by his side. In Omega Awakening we get a bit more insight into Lilly (who is my absolute favorite character in the series) and behind the scenes workings of the viral program. Of course, we get all the naughty steamy bits that make omegaverse so much fun! While Omega Awakening can be read as a standalone, reading the rest of the series will give a richer background to the setting and the characters (plus, if you haven’t read it, you are missing out!). Overall, this was another amazing story by L.V. Lane and I can’t wait for more from this talented author!
Overall this book was a 4 star for me. I liked the world building and the relationships Verity developed with the other omegas. I love me some alpha and omega intense relationships but the relationship between Woodrow and Verity did not sit well with me and because of this I just couldn’t form a connection to them. For me personally his actions seemed more aggressive and abusive then assertive and protective. The writing and story did keep me reading. The disconnection I experienced between Verity and Woodrow has more to do with my own personal taste. The writing, story line and Verity’s relationships with the other Omegas (which I loved!) are why I am giving 4/5 stars.
This was the first time I have ever read a book by this author and this style/type of book. I would read some more.
