Nora has moved in with Donovan but still misses Tanner! During a competition at Sheehans she see a different not so like able Donovan! It was nice seeing everybody relaxing and having fun! Not
In their usual places. When someone is found dead she’s relieved it was natural causes but not everything is as it seems. I love Grim! Monster is living up to her name as Grim and her become closer! Everyone in This book seems to be moving forward with their lives. The couples are getting closer! A witch/ were baby is about to be born. Lots of new and exciting changes in Eastwind! The book had plenty of mystery, adventure and fun! Complete with a shocking ending. I’m anxiously awaiting the next book! I highly recommend this book and this series!
Another great installment!
That you can grow so fond of a nonexistent place and of nonexistent people! Weird maybe, but so true.
When a dead body is found, Nora doesn’t suspect foul play. But Nora, you should know by now: there’s always more than meets the eye!
I’m not Donovan biggest fan. But I’m really trying to like him for Nora’s sake… and then he goes and does something ridiculous… 😉
Another great installment! Maybe a little less suspenseful than previous books, a different kind of case, but still: sooo good! And a great ending! I’m already looking forward to what’s next!
Quote: < “So you know,” I muttered to him, “telling a woman to relax has never caused a woman to relax.” > Ain’t that the truth!
The story moved quickly, too quickly, it left me wanting more and now I have to wait on pins and needles for book 12. The next book could go in so many directions, I couldn’t even venture a guess as to where the story is going but it will be exciting and funny and maybe a little sad or not, depending on what you hoping for. Sweet baby jackalope I need bacon.
Oh. My. This new case for Nora opens a whole can of worms or can of something! A love triangle, a curse, Malavic. All I can say is I need the next book ASAP!
Love this series. Great paranormal characters, even that annoying vampire. It ends in a cliffhanger!! I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Author Nova Nelson knows how to keep the reader interested and the story flowing. I was given a free ARC by the author. My review is freely and honestly given
Oh my – a true cliffhanger in the best sense of the word. Even though I really, truly don’t want to wait until the next in the series, I know it will be worth it!
Nail biting ending but we knew that was coming. Another ghost, only this this one isn’t quite like any other Nora has sent on. Seems like everyone is waiting for Nora to find another portal except Nora.
Ah, Nova Nelson, now you are just messin’ with us readers! Just when all appears set in stone, we find out there have been options – what?? options?!! I’m always forgetting magic has no limits – very sneaky and well done! (fans of the series will know what I’m talking about). Not a fan? Get reading! This is a great series with very engaging characters set in the magical town of Eastwind. In each book, I can’t turn the pages fast enough yet I want to savor each story at the same time because I know I will have to wait (impatiently) for the next release. I’m particularly looking forward to the next one in line – should be exciting -old haunts, indeed! I have my prediction written down – can’t wait to see if I’m even close to what the author’s vision of where the series goes next. Thank you for some very enjoyable reading hours!
Nora is trying to really figure out where she is in her love life. Gets a ghostly visit, her job, and claims he was not murdered. What or how is she supposed to help.
Great addition to the series. fun read. I read it in a day.
Grim!!!!! Where have you been? I missed you. You not feeling up to par? Getting too domesticated? Not as snarky as usual. Nice job taking care of Monster. Kudos!!!!
There is a quote in the book that says: “…you know Donovan. And you know me. and you know us.”
If this makes no sense to you then you definitely need to go back and read the previous books. At this point in the series you could probably read it by itself but there is much that you might be lost on. Besides you will love the series anyway.
Even I could not remember a character by name and had to go check. Been a bit between books for me with all that I read, lol.
Questions regarding the ending so will have to go check Eastwind Coven site thingy. go to author website for what I am talking about. Hope next book is real soon. Anxious to see what happens.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Book 12 better be coming soon!!
Yet another body has turned up but why is Dmitri still here? It appears to be natural causes and he can’t think why he would still be here. Maybe if Nora didn’t have to drag information out of him! Grim and Dmitri have a bonding romp thru the Deadwoods. And the Count is up to no good as per usual. Twists, turns, and a HUGE cliffhanger.
I received an ARC. This is my honest review.
Oh my stars! Ya’ll need to block time for this book! I can’t say enough about it. This one is gonna make you have all the feels ! I’m serious!
Now I have to wait for the next one ( not a patient person) If you haven’t read any of this Amazing lady’s books I strongly suggest you get started now!! You are in for an awesome treat!
Love love love her books!!! Nova darlin’ you Rock!!
Count Malavic has been and will remain an unending pain in the patootie until someone puts a stake through his heart- just saying!
Spending so much of her time getting to know more about the recently dead, then helping them move on, seems likely to make Nora more lonely.
Of course, moving on with Donovan after Tanner is gone with Eva, through the now closed portal leaves a lot feeling unfinished – especially since his heartbroken Munchkin cat familiar stays with Grimm and Nora.
The Count does his best to make his ugly strategically known, for his personal entertainment of course.
Faced with choices about her future, Nora makes some surprisingly sensible ones, then, as usual, is forced to deal with the fallout as her well laid plans go awry anyway.
I begrudgingly am looking forward to the next adventure for Nora, Grimm and friends.
I really enjoy the series. I hate it when I love the literary twists that are so apt it screws up a plot I was rooting for. Dang it!
Yup. I am another annoying fan too hooked on a fictional universe too fun not to enjoy!
Nora has finally moved on she’s with Donaven and happy even if she dose occasionally think about Tanner. And after a shuffle puck ternamint at Shehan’s Nora’s life will come full circle with one dead witch with allot of secrets a lost love and a curse. Dimitri the dead witch says he does know why he’s still around according to him he had know enemies and he wasn’t murdered. Nora has to figure out what’s really going on and unfortunately that means talking to the people that Dimitri had dealings with one of which is Count Malavic and boy has he been keeping a secret one that could break Nora and Donovan up. When the time comes witch path will Nora make close the door on your past or stay were your at.
I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
Wow what a ride. There were so many twists in this book that I could not put it down. Love Nora and the gang. Monster and Grimm are total show stealers. The cliff hanger changes everything, Nora is now in Louisiana. Dying to see what will happen in the next book. The story just keeps getting better and better with each book. You definitely have to read this series.
Another wonderful book by Author Nova Nelson.
This series of books keeps getting better and better.
Loved reading…
Old Haunts #11 – I love this book! I enjoyed reading it and liked what the suspicious death entailed. Along with this problem, Nora has a bigger dilemma to handle and her decision is not an easy one concerning which path to take. There is plenty of humor, intrigue, discovery and an interesting mystery. I love the ending, which always comes all too soon with any of Ms. Nelson’s books. This book could easy become a book report instead of a review since I found the dilemma exciting and have my fingers crossed. I contacted the author to review her books.5*
Eastwind Witches: Eastwind Witches – I love these kinds of witches; nothing mean or nasty but tough when needed. My friend had these three books and we spent a day reading and laughing about the characters and the happenings. Funny, entertaining and well written, the stories are strong enough to keep the reader immersed in the pages, but with a simple storytelling style. The characters grow as the pages fly by and there’s no Stupid Formula, just plain entertainment. Surprise, no vulgar language or cussing. Plus, you’ll love Ted; sorry no spoilers. Little editing needed but not much. Crossing Over Easy #1 – I love these kinds of witch stories. This is our first book by this author; my friend and I read her copies during one of our get-together weekends. We both had fun with them. Easily and quickly read, COE was funny and interesting. The characters are funny and entertaining; the story line was entertaining; and the dialog and actions weren’t of the stupid variety. Even without a friend’s comments, this book is good for relaxation or something simple but entertaining. Did I mention the book was entertaining. OK, I’m not funny, but Nova is a lot. 5*
Death Metal #2 – This book starts three months after Crossing Over Easy ended. We loved the dialog; it was almost as if we were doing the talking. Well written, funny and entertaining, the pages flew by as we laughed our way to the end. The characters are filling out more, including Eastwind, and their dialog is extremely entertaining. Nora is discovering more about herself and the perks and dangers of being a Fifth Wind witch. 5*
Third Knock The Charm #3 – This book begins two weeks after Death Metal ends. This time no one is killed, but many other things are happening instead. Funny, entertaining and this time filled with lots of sexual tension. My favorite character is the Library, which I wish all readers had access to one of their own. Ms. Nelson writes well, describes vividly and add humor in abundance. My friend and I just laughed ourselves silly about the message of sexual harassment is wrong, but physical assault is OK. Nope, we didn’t disagree on half of that message, but we come from a time of real sexual harassment where slapping hands or faces was a must; now it’s a crime to defend yourself. 5*
Queso de los Muertos #4 – Another well written, intriguing but quickly read Eastwind tale. Fast paced, entertaining and a touch of sexual tension, this is a good addition to the series. It’s nice the author doesn’t use vulgar language or explicit sex, but uses humor and well thought out storylines. The characters remain interesting and their dialog believable. There’s no stupid formula in this series. I could use a bowl of queso and handmade chips. I contacted the author to review her books since I enjoyed the first three. 5*
Psych Out #5 – Wow, we’ve a few twists to the plot! This book isn’t a cliffhanger, but it will fun to find out what’s happening with Nora in the next book. Well written, intriguing and with a few kinks added to mix, along with more development of the characters. The plot is really intense near the end of the story and there’s a few laughs along the way. Plus, the sexual tension is still running amok. 5*
Gone Witch #6 – Imagine the sexual tensions with three guys available, poor Nora. Another well written, fast paced plot filled with intrigue and suspense. Along with humor, there’s a build up for a bad future ahead for Eastwind. Changes are already taking place, especially with several characters. Once started, this story was hard to put down. 5*
Love Spells Trouble #7 – What a neat spell, but what terrible residuals. Another fun and magical book. There’s all kinds of characters from the past, along with trouble for the future. The storyline was pretty good and there’s plenty of sexual tension and then some. There’s plenty of intrigue and suspense to go with the tension and the humor. One of the characters leaves and I hated to see him go, but the ending still works just fine. 5*
Storm A-Brewin’ #8 – Storm picks up a week later from when Love Spells Trouble ended. This is a very good story! All our favorite and not so favorite characters are dealing with a lot of hatred with certain businesses being targeted. The story mirrors the reverse discrimination that’s so prominent in the news, but at least the book is interesting and with humor. 5*
Hallow’s Faire in Love and War #9 – I completely love this series and Hallow’s is full of twists and surprises. Nora gets a rude awakening and a visit from the past that has her head spinning, not literally, and she pays dearly. The storylines are intriguing and the continuous ones from previous books mesh well with this book’s plot. The same likable, and some not so likable, crew makes their contributions to keeping the reader’s interest, while the new characters add to the mix. There’s nothing like having his parents float in while you’re in bed undressed. Complete with humor, along with the sad parts, this well rounded story is a good addition to the series. Start with book one, else you’re missing the continuously growing foundation that this series is built upon and you will not get the full value of this series. I contacted the author to read her books. 4*
Dead Witch Walking #10 – Quirky and yechy. I understand how Nora feels about Giovanni and what she has to do; reminiscent of Hannibal but not the same by a long shot. This gruesome story is not so much about a murder and necromancy, but saving a love. Yeah, the reader goes through all these feelings of yech and gross, and then finds out in the end, it’s all about love. Nora didn’t even care for the couple, so that says a lot about her. Intriguing and interesting, this story picks up three months after Hallow’s Faire ends. I contacted Ms. Nelson to review her books. 4* Eastwind Witches End.
