This pot of gold could hold more than they bargained for… Grand. Just grand. Clara Donovan’s failure to keep her brother from going off the rails—again—is a public spectacle. Including a handsome stranger who puts down his guitar case to help her talk Seamus down from Farthing’s tallest bridge.Everything about Danny Brady reminds Clara how many times she swore she’ll never again be that … she’ll never again be that pathetic, weak woman who got taken in by a good-looking man. Especially when, the next day, she walks into a new coffee shop in her little Irish town and discovers Danny’s secret.
Danny didn’t lie—technically—about his coffee shop chain. He’s just tired of women going after him for his wealth. Clara is a graceful, fiercely loyal, non-Irish Irish damsel in distress, a combination that tugs at his heart. A heart that’s spent its share of time in pieces.
Danny has never hesitated to go after what he wants, but melting Clara’s defenses will take more than hot tea and charm. He’ll have to prove he’s made of stronger stuff—even when her past threatens to tear her carefully reconstructed world to shreds.

I really enjoyed listening to this story. It had all the feels: friendship, love, regrets, divorce, adoption and family. Sweet, clean romance. Josie Riviera knocked another one out of the park. Jodie Kearns does a fabulous job narrating & bringing the characters to life.
Oh Danny Boy is an intense, emotional , heartwarming love story that includes a hard look at alcoholism and suicide. Do not let that stop you from reading this wonderful book because it is the main characters family members who suffer from these afflictions. Ms. Riviera manages to deal with these issues without having them be depressing. Clara meets Danny in unusual circumstances. Both Clara and Danny have worked hard to overcome issues from their pasts. This book is an amazing tale of fear, forgiveness, happiness and love. I could not put it down.
I was given a free copy of this Audiobook In exchange for an honest review. Clara has her hands full with her family problems, some very serious, and she has to work very hard to make ends meet. Danny is very successful, but has a very serious family situation too. When they meet under stressful circumstances will they be in each other’s future? Will they be able to mend their past problems as well as their current ones for a wonderful future that includes forgiveness? I loved the Irish and coffee shop setting. The subject of addiction and it’s consequences is a very timely one that touches almost every family and is dealt with in this book in a realistic manor. Definitely recommend.
I listened to the audiobook of this story. The narrator was wonderful and she made you feel like you were in the small Irish town. Clara Donovan has had enough trouble with men and now she was trying to talk her brother Seamus down from a bridge, before he jumps. A stranger, Danny Brady comes to their aid. When they did get him down, Danny gives Clara his card, in case she needs anything. The next day, Clara and her sister stop at the new coffee shop and find out that Danny is the owner. Again, another man who lies to her. He explains his reasons for not telling her the truth. They agree to get past this and become friends. If course, nothing is ever easy and more problems with Seamus, will cause more difficulties between them. Follow their rocky road, in search of that pot of gold.
Story: 5 stars
This story had real-life characters with problems such as alcoholism, co-dependency and yet there is deep family love and loyalty. The heroine has a jaded past and a restraining order out on her ex-con boyfriend. x10The hero is a workaholic owner of a chain of coffee shops. Yet these two seem pretty much perfect for one another.
Narration: 5 stars
The narrator must be Irish, her accent is just so believable! She reads with good expression and emotion. Her reading speed is just right, as well. There’s some singing in the book and the narrator has a lovely singing voice! I’d happily listen to her again! (Her recording studio is a tiny bit echo-y, but you don’t notice after about the first 2 seconds of listening.)
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
An amazing well written unexpected love romance story. This intriguing storyline has forgiveness, love, fear, happiness, drama, perserverance and love for keeping a family together as they deal with overcoming the past and present. An incredible narration done with great accents really feeling the Irish nature. The characters are realistic and well developed with undeniable chemistry. A must listen to romance.
Loved this book with real life situations in life that some of have to work through. Clara and Danny meet in one of those bad situations and even when neither one was looking for any type of relationship and he is wealthy and she barely getting by they are drawn to each other. Emotional, uplifting and romantic.
Oh Danny Boy is a wonderful, sweet romance that also deals with some very tough subject matter – alcoholism and suicide. Clara thinks her little talks with her brother, Seamus are working and he has stopped drinking. She meets Danny when she goes to rescue Seamus off a bridge when he is depressed and drunk and threatening to jump. Danny takes a liking to her but he is busy with his coffee shops. Clara wants to be independent and do things her way. Can the attraction between them lead to more? Excellent story!
I received a copy of this book from the author and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
A sweet, clean read about a billionaire, Danny, who doesn’t just flaunt his money and does charity work. He meets Clara while attempting to help her rescue her brother from a suicide attempt. She was a previous orphan who knew a little about street life at a young age. She also had a recent sordid past due to an ex relationship. While Danny learns of Clara’s past, she doesn’t realize that he would understand her because he also had things in his past. Slowly they realize they’re falling in love, but then, a theft comes between them. The story portrays the sadness of losing loved ones, alcoholism, and depression. It also brings to light how trusting family can be and how easy we can enable those we love. Thankfully there is a happy ending.
I received a free copy of this book, and this review reflects my honest and unbiased opinion.
First time in reading this author with her giving us a couple of delightful characters to follow telling us their story. Clara crosses paths with Danny when she is in need he comes to her aide. From there you are given a relationship that is a delight to see build. It has its moments and trials but the answers and the way around them are the meat that gives us our fix in a good romance. This author touches on things that are sadly out there for alot of people with us getting a look on how these characters went through them. This is a solid read so that I found that refreshing for sure.
Great story. Loved how Clara took care of her brother. Danny did great helping Clara with her brother. Both, Clara and Danny are great characters. This is well written story.
Josie Riviera’s Oh Danny Boy was a fun read. Set in a small town in Ireland where Clara is befriended by Danny. Clara has no idea who he is and is very surprised to learn he is a coffee shop entrepreneur. Clara has lots of personal and family drama and definite trust issues. She is very naive and optimistic. Danny has past issues as well but is no longer clueless and accepting. Clara is focused on her family first and then her livelihood. Danny is trying to expand his coffee shop empire and his personal life comes in a distant second. Danny and Clara struggle in their relationship. Overcoming alcoholic relatives, personal insecurities, stubbornness, proudness, and cyber-crimes all plague Clara and Danny as their love grows. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it.
Love, forgiveness, fear, happiness, just a few words to describe what a few of the characters are going through and feeling. This book is overcoming your past and dealing with the present. It is a must read book for your TBR list!
A beautiful Irish romance…
This is the beautiful contemporary Irish romance of Clara Donovan and Danny Brady. They meet when Danny follows Clara up a precarious bridge to stop her brother Seamus from committing suicide. Although neither is interested in a serious romance, both having had bad experiences that soured them on love, their attraction to each other is undeniable but the difference in their social status may be an insurmountable barrier. Danny is a millionaire entrepreneur devoted to his coffee shop empire while Clara lives hand-to-mouth supporting herself and her brother.
Josie Riviera developed her characters with emotional interactions that are poignant and relatable. It is a well- written clean romance that gave me hours of enjoyment. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. I loved this book!
Reading books by Josie Rivera are always wonderful reads. Again, this one did not disappoint. I have never been to Ireland but the way the story is told and the places visited it makes you feel like you are right there. Clara Donovan has a bit of a rough past but she knows she can overcome that. Her brother Seamus has had a rough life and Clara is there for him when he is ready to jump off a bridge. A guitarist followed up behind her to warrant her safety. This kind gentleman is Danny. Danny has had a very rough life and is trying to put the bad things behind him by being successful in his numerous coffee shops. Danny has a fancy for Clara and tries to win her heart with wonderful gifts and trips. Can Danny learn to put his past behind him and make Clara the most important person in his life. There are a few twists and turns in the story so you will have to read to see what they may have to go through to be together. Can Clara finally let her brother go to stand on his own feet. You will not be disappointed with this book and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Read Story!!
This is a wonderful look at addition and the enabler while also giving us a love story or two. Clara loves totally but not always wisely. I enjoyed the romance between her and Danny even when wanting to yell at her for her enabling ways. I can recommend this book.
I haven’t been to Ireland but now I want to go. Josie Rivera’s beautiful story has me seeing what Ireland can be like and the people that really can be so caring and love life. I loved her hero and heroine. Danny is one kind of a man every woman would fall in love with and Clara is one tough lady who is still fragile inside. Danny is also remembering a past he would rather forget.
This is a beautiful story with lots of emotion and caring and danger at least to one heroine. It is also one where you just might not be sure how it will turn out but you sure hope it is a good ending and well it is.
I highly recommend this story and I don’t believe you will ever regret it buying it.
I received this story as an arc but not for review. This my own doing as I loved this story.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved the relationship between Clara and Danny, even though their relationship was very emotional. This story had so many twists and turns. This book was very hard to put down. This was a very sweet story and I recommend.
Clara Donovan is a tough Irish woman who will do anything to take care of those she loves including stealing as a child to feed her fellow hungry orphans, climb a bridge to rescue a suicidal brother, and work to pay off the debts that same brother has racked up. Danny Brady has worked his way out of poverty with drunken uncaring parents to become a successful business man. He falls for Clara quickly, but when there is financial trouble with his business and he learns about her prior arrest for theft he accuses her thinking she might have has something to do with it along with her brother. Add in Clara’s abusive controlling ex who has recently been released from prison and is threatening her and this story had a lot of drama and high emotions. I loved that Clara enjoyed teaching dance to young children and all she wanted was her own dance studio and that Danny enjoyed singing even though he couldn’t do it very well. Both characters were flawed which made this Irish romance more real and interesting.
