Spending a month filming a reality TV show with your ex is no picnic.Especially when you’ve signed a contract stating that the two of you will not, under any circumstances, have romantic relations while filming. Leanne Simmons and Callum Davidson never had an easy relationship. From enemies to lovers and back to enemies, they’ve been on again/off again for years. Things come to a head when Callum … a head when Callum gets into an altercation with a rival for Leanne’s affections. Their management decide enough is enough and give them both an ultimatum: sign the contract or leave the show.
Unwilling to give up their livelihoods, Callum and Leanne sign on the dotted line. However, like always, they can’t resist making a bet. Callum thinks it’s only a matter of time before they break the agreement, while Leanne is determined to see it through.
Can she resist him for an entire month without losing her sanity? And what if this is the one bet that finally breaks them both?

Amazing characters and story.
I met this couple in Hearts on Air, I fell in love a little more in Air Kiss and now I had a chance to fall completely in love with Cal. Cal is a temperamental, strong, determined guy who cares for his mother very fondly and is uncontrollably in love with Leanne, but their relationship is very complicated, a real Push and Pull.
After involving Leanne in a very big mess, these two will need to accept the limits imposed by the reality show producers they are part if they want to continue in the attraction. For Leanne it is simple since she finds their relationship toxic but for Cal it will be very complicated since he wants to win back the girl.
Between radical maneuvers, tensions, many fights, and taunts, Cal will be proving his worth to Leanne. It is beautiful to watch as he tries, even though in the wrong way sometimes, show the girl that he is worth the risk and that together they form a strong parkour pair in tune.
Leanne still has not recovered from the loss she has suffered and still blames herself for what has happened and ends up taking Cal out of her life when they most needed each other’s support. In many moments I was irritated with her and how she ended up pushing the right buttons to provoke Cal’s jealousy and fights.
Narrated in the first person, alternately between Leanne and Cal between past and present, L.H. Cosway shows all the moments lived by this couple. A book about mourning, second chances, persistence and true love.
I loved Cal’s mum, the new parkour scenes and see again the other members of the group, especially Paul and Trev. Now I’m anxious for the next books in the series.
Through all the ups and downs between Callum and Leanne, the one thing that can not be denied is their connection. They have gone through some heartbreaking stuff and quite a bit of miscommunication. But boy when they’re in the zone with each other, they have some serious chemistry going on.
I really enjoy this whole storyline. I loved reading about parkour in the last series and I am so glad we get more with new characters in this series. It keeps me coming back for more.
Callum & Leanne draw you into their on again off again white hot passion. They know exactly how to get under each others skin and stay there. They are each others burr. They are drawn to each other. They share a devastating tragedy and a deep seated passion. And the inability to communicate without pushing the wrong button. But below the prickly surface is a deep well of love they simply need to figure out how to express to each other,..after they admit it to themselves. I loved this book. I had started the books that lead into this forever ago. I need to go back and finish. I was sucked into the book. You can feel their excitement and enjoyment of their parkour and free-running. Their competitiveness. The friendship of the group; Trev, Paul, James, and Issac; plus their PAs. The intensity of the attraction between Cal & Leanne, even as they fight it (partly because the network has forced a ridiculous contract on them because of Cal’s explosive temper & jealousy). So very good. I loved every word and look forward to the rest of this series. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Where to start? I loved this book from start to finish. Don’t think I’ve ever used this long time to read a book by L.H. Cosway before. There were parts of this story that really moved me, tuched the core of me and made me realize things in my own life I wished I had handled differently. A wake up call so to speak. I kinda wished she had written this book many years ago.
Leanne and Cal, what a journey! You could feel the tension and passion between them. And feel sorry for them.
L.H. Cosway’s way with words amazes me. The stories feel so real and lifelike.
Another must read book!
***4 Stars***
While it has been quite a few moons since reading Hearts on Air, I remember wanting to spend more time with the characters and see where their lives would lead. So, when the spinoff was announced, I was all in ~ especially because Callum and Leanne were going to be leading things off and I knew it was going to one hell of a ride and I was not disappointed! It was all kinds of emotional ~ it was like a ping pong game on crack, one moment I felt this way and then the next I was on the opposite end of the spectrum ~ it was crazyness, but so worth every moment in the end.
Callum and Leanne. I loved these two, I did. They both have huge hearts ~ even if it is apparent to the naked eye ~ and the sweet, smexy and snarky was on point. But the frustration with these two was also real. I swear one moment I was #TeamCallum, in the next breath I was #TeamLeanne and then there were moments where I was neither because they were both driving me batshitcrazy (the whole acting like unruly toddlers thing was real with these two…OH. SO. REAL) BUT (and there is always a BUT) there was that spark, that chemistry between them that had me wanting to see them working their numerous issues and getting the HEA they really did deserve and though it was something of an arduous process, it was all worth it in the end.
Regardless of, or maybe because of, all the emotional upheaval I ended up really enjoying this book. The writing was engaging and I really liked how their story was told. It worked to give a well rounded picture of who Leanne and Callum really were. And as always, I do love me well written secondary characters, and there are a bunch here that I want to get to know a lot better (and one I hope gets kicked off the island) So bring on the rest of the series!!

I loved this book. This spin- off series is just as great as the original one. I loved these two characters. I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author.
I also listened to the audible version and it was fantastic.
Oh man! All that sexual tension and heavy push and pull between Callum and Leanne in Air Kiss? That mixing bowl of angsty drama exploded in a shower of grief, longing, tenderness, and yes, unbelievably prickly chemistry! Leanne and Callum were so into each other in a way that I felt was unhealthy and almost compulsive really, yet oddly enough when everything comes out in the wash? Their behavior made sense in a twisted sort of way. Maturity can be a real growing pain, as Leanne and Callum both discover in heartbreaking ways, but it can also provide much needed, eye opening perspectives too.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Leanne & Callum! The conclusion from “ Air Kiss”
Tells the rest of the story!
“The problem was ,I tended to obsess over the bad instead of being thankful for the good”
A Quote from L.H.Cosway’s Beautifully written story.
A story of Pain, loss, friendship, hard work and most importantly Love!
(This is a review for the Audiobook)
I’m so emotional right now. Never have I ever cried happy tears over a book, but I did during a special scene in this. It might have something to do with this being an Audiobook. I really don’t want to spoil anything, just want to assure you that you will take an emotional roller coaster ride with this book. You will want to scream, laugh, cry and embrace the main characters. I’m totally invested. I loved both narrators and I can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for bringing the characters to life this way.
4.5 stars
I read Air Kiss before Off the Air and I think it made this book that much better. You get a better understanding of Leanne and Cals relationship. I did both books by Audio and highly recommend them to be listened to as the narration is amazing.
Off the Air picks up 3 years after Air Kiss and I can honestly say that right off the bat, my heart was broken by this book and what had happened to my characters that I had fallen in love with in the novella. Throughout the whole book, I was rooting for Cal on his quest to win Leanne back, although to some extent I did understand Leann’s feelings and sympathized with her, but for the most part Cal was the hero of the story for me. And as I said before, the narration killed it (in a good way) for me. I love any book read with an accent, but this one just really brought home the agony and anguish and love between these two characters. I can’t wait to read more in this series and hopefully we’ll get a peek back into these two’s lives.
This book is amazing, I absolutely adore it. Leann and Callum are introduced in the Hearts series. After agreeing to be on a reality show together they can’t deny the sparks that fly between them, seeing each other in secret. A tragic accident pulls them apart and plunges them both into grief. The book time jumps a little showing a scene from the present, then going back in time in the next chapter to fill in information. The push and pull, the grief, the angst, the anger, was all beautifully written, my heart hurt for both Leann and Callum. There were several times when I just wanted Leann to let Cal love her like he wanted to, like he was offering to, instead of pushing him away. It wasn’t all grief and angst, the banter between characters was witty and funny and had me laughing several times. I love that the premise of the book, a reality show about parkour, is unique and different. I listened to the audio and absolutely love both narrators. Will M. Watt and Stacy Holmes did such a fantastic job and really brought the characters and story to life. This is a fantastically stunning book, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different.
I was given an audio book in exchange for a review.
I love Off The Air. The story starts us off with some heartbreak. It hits us with angst and emotion that is tempered with humor and fun banter. But there is at all times the strong connection between Leanne and Callum.
Leanne is hiding from her pain and in a way acting out and pushing Cal away.
“And nobody has life figured out. We’re all just taking stabs in the dark, learning as we go along.”
I listened to this story on audiobook and the awesome narration by Stacey Holmes and Will M Watt made this such a great listening experience! Audiobook is definitely the way to go with this one!
-5 Stars!-
LH Conway’s Hearts on Air (Hearts series #6), is sort of a prequel to this story. It sets the scene for the whole Running on Air series, and I’ve got to say, I loved it. Sadly Off the Air didn’t quite make the same impression on me. I wasn’t sucked in from the beginning, I wasn’t rooting for Callum and Leanne as a couple. I felt like I was just going through the motions. Leanne came across as miserable and bitchy throughout the first half of the book. Callum on the other hand was sweet, caring and attentive (not in a pathetic way), whilst still keeping his bad boy persona going. Leanne did redeem herself somewhat in the final chapters, and of course I can’t fault the writing, the story however was a bit of a downer for me (a first with an LH Cosway book). I received a copy of this book from the author via GoodReads. This is my honest review.
3 1/2 stars. I am a fan of L.H. Cosway’s work. Her books usually evoke such strong feelings in me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get great ones from this book. I had a hard time with the contract Leanne and Cal had to sign. It offended me on so many levels. When the incident that precipitated this happened, they weren’t even together: hadn’t even been together for a year. Having them sign something so ridiculous didn’t make sense. I also didn’t really jive with Cal and Leanne’s dynamic. She was so mean to him and the whole antagonistic game playing gives me anxiety.
I will say that Leanne does have some good character development and realized how awful she was to him. I just wish it had been sooner in the story.
Absolutely loved this! Great story and characters
I’ve read and loved the rugby series books LH Cosway co-wrote with Penny Reid and now I’m kicking myself for not reading any of her solo books before. I fell in love with Off the Air and its quirky but fascinating adrenaline pumping backstory involving parkour/free running and the guys and girl it focuses on.
Leanne and Callum were two wonderful characters. I read the prequel (Air Kiss) first, which hooked me in. After their push pull, hot start, I had to know what happened to them as this book is set three years later.
These are two fiery, stubborn, passionate people who react so strongly to each other, but sadly not always for the good. On the surface theirs was a love hate relationship, their chemistry red hot, the sexual tension and angst was off the charts, but underneath away from the TV cameras their pain, anguish and unresolved emotions seemed a barrier too high, even for these two expert free runners who physically could conquer anything.
This well written story had a great balance of angst, heartbreak, emotion, action and steamy sexiness. Their struggle to come to terms with the past was real, at times I wanted to just hug and then shake Leanne to make her see what was in front of her and let Callum in. Oh and Callum (tattooed green eyed hotness), yes he’s an arse at times, but with a loyal heart of gold, he was never going to give up on a chance at true happiness with Leanne.
Overall, a big five stars and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series and catching up on more of this authors stories.
Anyone who has read anything by cosway knows they’re in for a treat. This book is no different. It’s emotional, pulling you in from the first page, and so intense that at times you don’t even realise how invested you become in the lives and the push and pull between Callum and Leanne. It’s like you’re in that moment with them. And there’s a whole roller coaster of moments here… anger, hurt, humour, confusion, happiness, lust, love, yearning, friendship.
Callum really impressed me, because it’s so evident how hard he’s trying. He’s really willing to put in the effort to become a better person, and that kind of self awareness, and that kind of story where love isn’t the end of the story, but the impetus that leads to improvement, to the characters trying to become better people.. that is rare, and so lovely to read. It’s the best kind of romance, really.
I also loved the supporting characters and their interactions made this even more fun. And it’s a strange coincidence that I’m reading Trevor Noah’s book at the moment, so the setting of most of the action, in South Africa, was also something I enjoyed. I really hope the next book in this series is out soon, because James deserves someone better 😉
There’s a whole lot of tension–sexual and otherwise–that lingers around Callum and Leanne, and I couldn’t help but feel the anticipation whenever these two were in the same space together. Being with each other seemed inevitable but there’s quite a bit of baggage that they’ve got going on, especially when it came to the first time that they broke up. I won’t mention what it was that ultimately led them to part ways, but suffice it to say that it’s something that continues to haunt them, especially Leanne. A few years older but maybe not necessarily wiser, Callum and Leanne do some much needed growing up and soul searching, and I loved having a ringside seat to the evolution of their relationship. Off the Air easily gets five stars, and I cannot wait for the next Running on Air story!
Off the Air by L.H. Cosway is novel one in her Running on Air series. For better understanding I strongly recommend to read the prequel, Air Kiss, first.
This is Callum and Leanne’s epic love story.
Callum Davidson and Leanne Simmons are part of a reality TV show. Together with their friends and team James, Trevor, Paul and xx they’re showing off their parkour skills. And o boy they’re great. Their show is fantastic and they’re om top of their world.
Only Callum and Leanne have a difficult relationship. They go from love to hate in the blink of an eye. Somehow they’re toxic for each other – so it seems. But deep, deep down they love each other. To make matters more complicated throw a contract, jealous fans and a insider who isn’t nice at all in the mix and you have a excellent storyline. The brilliant writing and a captivating story make the book a great one. I loved the characters and the story . I connected very easily with the hero and the heroine. I loved the writing and simply couldn’t put the book down. I read it, cover to cover in one sitting. I could feel their connection, their through the roof high chemistry in the words.
I recommend Off the Air and can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Floating on Air. 5 stars.
Before reading Off the Air by LH Cosway, I would highly recommend starting with the novella Air Kiss to get some background on the characters Callum and Leanne. Off the Air was everything a romance reader could ask for!! The main characters had such an intense slow burn and emotional rollercoaster of a journey that you do not want to miss out on! LH Cosway writes the BEST male characters ever!!! They are perfectly flawed and you can’t help yourself but fall in love with them! Cosway also writes some seriously strong heroines and Leanne was no different! She held her ground, but Callum never gave up on her! *Que all the swoons* Callum and Leanne were fire and gasoline- When mixed together they burned brighter! Now I will be waiting anxiously until we get the next book in the series! Cannot highly recommend enough!
