Owen needs to shed his hellish last few years. Yearning for the simpler things in life, like working with his hands, the finance mogul joins a Habitat build. Turns out he also wants to work over Ainsley Hall…but the confusing bombshell flirts blatantly with other men.
When Ainsley discovers Owen’s true sexuality, their mutual attraction ignites, but he hasn’t shared details about his past. If Ainsley gets wind of the lies chasing him, it will take more than hammers and nails (and nailing studs) to keep their walls from caving in.

Absolutely LOVED and DEVOURED this laugh out loud rom-com! After reading Legs I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Stud and this read did not disappoint. Ainsley was hilarious with her witty banter and fashionista ways; as for Owen, dirty mouth and sexiness had me wanting more of them. This is a read that will hold you captive until you have inhaled the whole book.
Kelly Siskind writes love stories that I just… love. They feel so real that it actually makes me sad when I reach the end because I have to say goodbye to these characters.
This book will likely be my favourite of the trilogy because Ainsley is my favourite character. She’s such a sweetheart. I loved learning more about her and seeing her growth to make her birthday wish a reality.
What was extra fun in this book was the dictionary words with the double meanings that were at the beginning of each chapter. It was a great addition.
I actually shed a few tears in the final chapter (the one before the epilogue). Siskind fully gets emotions and can make her readers feel exactly what her characters are feeling.
Kelly Siskind has done it again. This story flowed from the beginning to the end effortlessly. Ainsley and her friends share a birthday and they all made a birthday wish that they have a year to reveal.
Ainsley wants to be a better person so she volunteers at Habitat for Humanity which is where she meets Owen. The banter back and forth between them is full of lust, curiosity, confusion, misunderstanding even anger at times. They both have trust issues due to past relationships. Owen is there trying to get his life back together while going through a difficult divorce. Ainsley has been going through a rough patch every man she had the hots for turned out to gay or a cheater even in her job as a personal shopper some of her clients ask her to buy gifts for their mistresses. She is hilarious with her crossword puzzles and dictionary app. This is a wonderful story about two broken people who find each other and find a way to make each other whole again.
I love everything from her. She’s a fantastic, funny, and original. I almost peed in my pants I was laughing so hard.
This was a really enjoyable read. The plot was different and interesting. I loved the characters. They were well-developed and easily relatable. There were some times when I really wanted to slap them and tell them to wake up! I loved watching Ainsley’s transformation and loved her interaction with her friends. I do want to go back and read Gwen’s story again as well as read Rachel’s story.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book….
This book is tons of fun, with a heroine unlike any you’ve read before and loads of dirty puns. Save it for a day when you need a grin!
I wish Ainsley was my BFF. What an awesome book. Owen was truly swoon worthy, Ainsley was so funny and the banter was marvelous. The conflicts were very realistic and well done. And THE FEELS! I am so glad I found this series and this author!
The thing about books is that they let our imaginations soar. We can laugh, or cry, become educated, have them scare us, or make us believe in love. If done right they are magic. That is the case with this book. It is pure magic. I LOVED, the first book of this series but it has NOTHING on this one. I laughed out loud. Literally. ( Two words– clitoris catnip.) I didn’t think the author could up her writing style but she did. I loved the definition/title before each chapter and how it was later used by the main characters. It was almost like a foreshadowing of what was to come.
It was wonderful to see the characters from the first book and to see how the infamous night of birthday wishes was working out. Ainsley was a delight. She was the true definition of not judging a book by its cover. She was sassy, quick witted, and fiery as hell. Owen. Sweet Lawd all mighty. I want to bottle that man up. My heart hurt for him. He just wanted true unequivocal love. He was sexy, he was steadfast, and he was unwavering.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is definitely going into one of the best of 2018. I cannot wait for Gwen’s story next. This will be a series I reread. Kudos to the author for knocking this one out of the park.
I loved it. Stud, the second book in the series, was fun, flirty and a downright great read. The main characters Ainsley and Owen were entertaining and so relatable. Their chemistry and banter will keep you glued to the pages.
Owen was such a romantic old soul and he stole my heart right fro the start. Ainsley was sassy and snarky and you couldn’t help but love her.
The secondary characters were all amazing and greatly added to the story. I really have to mention the headings for each chapter. It was so unique.
I loved that we got a taste of Licks, the next book in the series and I cant wait to read it. This was a fabulous read and I would highly recommend it.
I’m not so into contemporary, NA genre but I enjoyed this book. The characters are nice and lovable, and this is what I like. I hate when I read this genre and the MCs are problematic and couldn’t survive in our world. Ainsley and Owen have their personal issues but nothing that can’t be solved with normal conversation. This is my first book from this author and I’m actually planning to read her Showmen series that sounds delightful. 🙂
A lot of the contemporary romances I’ve read of late have left me a little meh. In fact I’ve suffered more than a few bland or duff reads, so I almost dreaded starting this book. I’m so glad I did because it was such a warm, humorous, emotion-packed and hot little read that I was gripped from the off and didn’t want to put this down.
I floved Ainsley and her broken gay-dar. She may have dressed like a fashionista but she was a sweet, sassy and sexy heroine. Owen was so damn hot he nearly melted my kindle and when the two of them finally got their act together – wow! The characters and their chemistry were totally believable.
This book seemed to be following the ‘rules’ of The Contemporary Romance Novel – you know the ones, a secret, a dodgy ex, a big misunderstanding etc. However just as it seemed to slip into these cliched paths, wham!, the author pulled out a plot twist and did things differently. That, along with some very good writing, plot and characters, really made this story stand out for me.
I loved how they came to appreciate how the other person felt and the way in which they let the past go. They both had a lot of luggage they were carrying but together they made such a perfect whole. Oh and beach glass….. I’m never going to look at that the same again.
After making a wish on her birthday she vows to somehow make it come true. Ainsley needs to feel better about her life and she decides to join A Habitat for Humanity jobsite and there she falls into the arms of hot carpenter Owen. Unfortunately she mistakenly thinks he is gay and the fun ensues. Lies and betrayals are exposed as Owen tries to finalize his divorce and move forward with Ainsley. This was an enjoyable book and I loved the characters. Definitely an enjoyable read.
There’s been some discussions floating around in a couple of FB groups recently about books with millionaires and billionaires and what readers think about those kind of characters. My response was I wanted more realistic heroes! Ones that have real jobs, real issues, and real feelings. I think Ms.Siskind must have seen my reply because Stud is the answer to all my requests!
I loved Owen and Ainsley! Their story was so entertaining and fun, and it had so much heart. Normally you swoon all over the hero, but let me tell you, Ainsley is swoon-worthy in her own right. The relationship she has with her parents just hit me in the feels! But don’t think Owen isn’t swoon-worthy, because he sure enough is- ballroom dancing anyone?!? Together these 2 left me feeling so giddy with happiness. I love when I’m charmed by both characters equally- I’m really not sure which of these two I liked the most. Their banter and flirtations, the heart-to-heart talks, the chemistry, I couldn’t get enough of them.
Owen and Ainsley both go through quite a bit of growth during the course of this book, and I really enjoyed being right there with them as they discovered things about themselves. I was so invested in these two, I wish I could have jumped in my Kindle to help them through their struggles! But they had no need for me, nope, not at all. They are both so strong and caring and after a few little hiccups they righted their paths.
Stud is just such a fantastic book. Not only are the main characters a pure delight, but the secondary characters add so much life to the story. The friendships are ones you wish you were a part of! I’m so looking forward to Gwen’s story, that little peek has me completely intrigued!
