Raised in a war-ravaged continent, temptation comes to Calla Caldwell in the form of a charming and mysterious stranger. Giving in to his intimate seduction, her world is forever changed by a single bite. Calla quickly learns the handsome stranger is vampire prince, Trystan Vladu. His bite was an attempt to claim and save her from a plot of vengeance generations in the making. However, the claws … the claws of that ancient vendetta are scraping ever closer.
Thrust into a new nightmare by the Prince of the corrupt kingdom of Morbeth, Calla is captured, tortured, and starved in the dank confines of his dungeon. While in captivity, she takes part in a séance with a witch of light where she contacts a departed relative—a Princess of Incendia—who bequeaths a gift to Calla that will tip the scales of good and evil . . . if she can learn to harness it.
With a dark tapestry of secrets, lies, and murder unraveling around her, Calla must learn to embrace the power roiling through her veins, or be snuffed out by the strangling fist of a malevolent darkness.

Of The Blood is YA fantasy/paranormal, first book in the Heir of Blood and Fire series. This was my first book by Cameo Renae and damn she have me gripped from the very first page. I was really intrigued with the blurb and i m so glad i decided to dive in this magical world. And WOW such an exciting read it is! With so many twists and turns, i devoured this book in few hours. The storyline, characters, plot and writing style is absolutely fantastic. I love love both Trystan and Kai so much and Calla is such a strong, resilient character. And I especially loved how Cameo gave secondary characters importance as well! They are amazing.
I absolutely loved this story. Book 2 here i come!!!
5 CRANKY STARS
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but I see her name all the time. I am certainly glad I picked this up. Her writing style and subject matter are exactly what I love. This is the first of what will be a series. It is about Vampires, magic and other mystical creatures. The humans in this world know about the magicals which seems more realistic. The main character is a human girl, Calla, just turning eighteen. She is shy by nature but her best friend insists on throwing her a party. When a handsome man,Trystan, appears suddenly, her world changes forever. She now must live a frightening life on the run. A grandfather she never met isn’t dead and the King of the magical world on the far end of the continent is after her. She learns that her whole family is on a kill list. When the evil Prince Roehl finds her, she is tortured. What does he want of her? This is when she finds out the story behind her true heritage. Nothing she knew about her past is true. She goes from a shy little girl to a strong woman who wants nothing more than to save her family and friends. If she must die to achieve this end, so be it. You will fall in love with all of these characters, except Roehl, by the end of the book. The action is spellbinding and you won’t want to put the book down. Sounds like a great series is starting.
I didn’t mind the grammatical errors because the story kept me interested. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released. Already have it pre-ordered.
I want more of these characters and their world.
This started off a little slow and a bit of a repeat of other vampire books, but by the middle everything was different. If you’re looking for a fully immersive magic world with everything from vampires to the lost city of Atlantis, this is the books for you.
It was ok, but it must have had something to it because I kept reading all of it. The trouble was I could set it down anytime and I like those I just can’t lay down.
If you are willing to slide through time, distant lands, mythological creatures, political disputes, plots, magic, and romance, this is definetely the book. The charming characters, even the evil ones, captivate you from the very beginning. The narrative is a mixture of smoothness and fast paced chapters, giving the reader a time to breath. Hope the next title will come very soon. Thanks for the wonderful journey, Cameo.
Absolutely brilliant! With twists and turns that will constantly leave you guessing and your jaw dropped. Fantastic characters that you love and love to hate. A wonderfully crafted and laid out story that will leave you desperately wanting more and with a book hangover for days! I just wanted to turn around and read it again! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book and see what happens next!
This is book 1 of Heir of Blood and Fire series. This was such a great book and a great start for the series. I loved the characters and the storyline, both I found well written and developed. From the very start my interest was grabbed and I was kept pulled into the story. I’m so looking forward to the next book and would recommend reading.
