But when … But when she is found, the stakes suddenly become dire.
All Gina wants is the freedom to live her life as she would wish. All her aunts want is the money that comes with her. But there is more than one way to trap an insect. An arranged marriage might turn out profitable for more parties than one.

A Great Historical Read!!!
More substance than many books of its genre. Complex characters and situations. Could not put it down.
I love historical fiction and I thought the interactions between sexes and family were fairly true in the era.
Tragic and romantic but so absolutely well written as to keep you reading until the wee hours of the morning hating to put it down but knowing you must so as to get a few hours sleep before work.
The thing I liked most about this book and others by the same author is I could be confident that it was a clean book with non of the yuck!!
While reading this book, it was hard to know whose side to take on such a complicated story. Dark characters that made it very interesting to read but maybe not all the feel good a traditional romance story contains. It was a fresh look at an interesting time in history. I would definitely recommend this book as a stand out in a very crowded …
Loved it …
Loved it, loved it.
It was bittersweet, but entertaining and different.
It was so much more than just a love story .The very good plot really kept one reading.
An unexpected romance from tragic beginnings. An exploration of class manners and morals in the Victoran world.
An interesting read, drug in a bit. Had a nice ending.
This had a good storyline, but the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more and parts of it just dragged over her dilemma, which should have been solved a bit easier.
The story was interesting, but too overstated. The author dwelt on issues too long; much of the length could have been eliminated. I turned pages just to eliminate the tedium & to get on with the story.
To believe or not to believe? To trust or not to trust? To recognize oneself as a good person despite some bad parts of life or to think that one is damaged goods? These are important questions the characters in this book must answer.
Quite the wordsmith, and so imaginative!
Loved this book
I love the strong and smart female character. Love how fluid and wonderful this novel is. Loved it!!
I really enjoyed reading it
Imagine a voice in a monotone never going up or down, just same even tone droning on and on. Dragging on and on. Sorry, it just took forever to get anywhere. I really wanted to like it.
