Born under a hunter’s moon, abandoned as a child, I was raised to be a powerful sorceress-okay, a mediocre sorceress. All right, I’m good at glamour and can make things sparkle, if my spells don’t backfire. It was foretold long ago that I was a child of prophecy that would unite the fae and humans of Candor. The only problem, no one told me, and now the king wants me dead. For I am Eden, one of … of the adoptive daughters of Lady Eville, and I have to attend the royal masquerade ball-not to win a prince, but to avenge my parents. Even if it means pretending to be a fairy godmother and wreaking a little havoc.

A little slower compared to the others in the EVILLE series
I really enjoyed this version of Cinderella! What amazing characters. It is a great fractured fairy tale full of love and misunderstanding and a wonderful ending.
Of Glass and Glamour
by Chanda Hahn
Book 2 of the Daughters of Eville series
Rating: 4/5
After reading the first book in this series, I was hooked! Each book can still be read separately but I highly recommend the entire series. The author has a way with words and is able to retell a fairytale in such a unique way. I have read the first three books in this series and you will not be disappointed. The characters are great and so much fun. The story is well written and thought out. I couldn’t put the book down (or stop listening to the audiobook).
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy fairytale retellings with a slightly darker edge.
“Just Shine. For you are not meant to live in the shadows of others.”
Of Glass and Glamour is book two in the Daughters of Eville series by Chanda Hahn. It’s quickly becoming noticeable that Lady Eville’s vengeance is teaching her adopted daughters how to protect themselves in ways she wasn’t protected and preparing them for their rightful place in society. Eden Eville is missing her elder sister when the nearest kingdom Candor announces a ball for the prince to select a woman to marry. Eden is a little insecure about her abilities and isn’t really upset when their household isn’t invited. But fate, or a determined sister, have other plans in mind. Lady Eville gets an invitation and surprisingly chooses Eden for this quest for vengeance. Her advice is “Get the shoes, get the guy, and get revenge.” Of course things aren’t that easy. Eden finds herself playing godmother to a con-artist, being kidnapped, and she needs to decide which guy to get, Prince Evander or the mysterious Dorian. Eden slowly learns the secrets of her origins and soon she’s facing not one enemy, but two. I really liked how Eden evolved throughout the book, she definitely grew from a self conscious girl and to a powerfully confident woman. This series is just getting better and better!
P.S. I love the dedication of this book! Check it out!

Once again Chanda gives us a book that keeps us on our toes and wanting more! I can’t wait for the next one!
Love this series! I love this take on Cinderella. I couldn’t put it down.
Enjoyably wonderful! Some of the twists were fun, and challenging for me to see how this story would work itself out. Another great addition to the series, and one I definitely recommend. I read this whole book with a smile on my face, it was so great to finally have another one in my hot little hands. I can’t wait for more of the sisters to get their stories!
The second book in this series does not disappoint. I immediately liked the main character, Eden. Although she was raised by Lady Eville to be powerful and ruthless, she questions her abilities and is kind. Eden is sent off to get the shoes, get the prince, and get revenge on those who took her parents from her. Although Eden struggles with spells, her power to glamour herself and others is amazing. The love triangle she finds herself in threatens to ruin Lady Eville’s plan of getting the prince. When backed against a wall, Eden must find her way and her confidence.
I love the little twist on the “fairy godmother” in this story, but one of my favorite things about this book is that we get a little more background on Lady Eville (I won’t spoil it so you’re going to have to read for yourself).
I found this book to be a fascinating read. The author is great at world building and character development. I love this book because it’s main character is a lady named Eden who doesn’t have much confidence in herself at the beginning of the book. By the end, she has gone through so much and developed into her potential which is so much fun to see. Very good moments to be had, I could hardly stop reading this wonderful book. I can’t wait for more to read from this author.
This book was amazing! It was a take on Cinderella like I’ve never seen before! I was surprised about what happened in it. The twists and turns really pulled me in! I wasn’t sure who to pull for at certain times. The characters really drew me in!
Loved it! I really enjoyed meeting a few of sister in of Beast and Beauty, so I was psyched that this time we got to learn more about Eden. Once again, the story takes a twist on beloved fairy tales and brings original thought, adventure, and magic into it. In fact, there may be more action and magic in this one as this book was jam-packed with goodness (and eville!). I was rooting for Eden the whole way!
Of Glass and Glamour was a pleasant surprise that kept me one step behind no matter how many times I thought I had figured out the ending. I enjoyed Eden’s story and her strong personality. Can’t wait for the next installment! These books just keep getting better and better 🙂
First off, I really enjoy books that take the classic fairy tales and give them a new twist. I’ve read quite a few. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I have enjoyed this author’s other book series and this one does not disappoint! There are surprises, characters you get to know and feel for, and mysteries that hold your attention – some even continue from the first book in this series. Go ahead, take a chance, you won’t regret it!
Of Glass and Glamour had me hooked from the very first page. I have been waiting and waiting for the 2nd book in this installment since I devoured Of Beast and Beauty. This book did not disappoint. In fact I started reading the first one again because I wasn’t ready to leave this world. Forget romance, these girls are on a mission (and maybe happen to fall in love while they are at it). Of Glass and Glamour had me hooked from page one and I couldn’t put it down until I had read every single word.
Each Daughters of Eville book is a stand alone book, but you’re going to want to read them all anyway because they are just that good.
The second installment of the Daughters of Eville was a thrilling, hilarious ride from the beginning. Eden Eville, self-proclaimed screw up and clumsily adorable, has no faith in her magical abilities. When her adopted mother Lady Eville sends her on a quest for revenge in Candor, Eden doesn’t know if she can accomplish her task or why she is even doing it. Only that there is a secret prophesy that no one will explain to her. What she does find is that Candor is hosting a competition for the next queen and she gets thrust into the mayhem and danger surrounding the crown. Along the way she meets a tantalizing stranger, some house elves, and plot to overthrow the Prince. But who’s side should she be on?
Cinderella is not my favorite fairy tale and I didn’t know how I would feel about this retelling. I should have known better than to doubt the creative genius of Hahn as she delivered a fast paced rendition that didn’t disappoint. Eden was fun, clumsy, fiery, and insecure which was such a fun character to meet. She had power, but never felt like she measured up to her sisters. The journey she took to unlock her potential and more importantly find her worth within herself was inspiring as that is such a hard road for so many people. The characters were so much fun and while there were some elements I anticipated, I was thrilled at how many little twists surprised me. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next one, which I assume is a Little Mermaid retelling.
I loved this book. This series is one of the best I have read. Love the new twist on a old tale. The daughter’s of Eville are always surprising you! Definitely worth a reread!
I loved this book! I am absolutely loving the series the Daughters of Eville! It is so intriguing how each story is about a new fairy tale but all tied together! I could not put the book down! I finished it in record time. I cannot wait for the next book to come out. The first book in this series was so captivating and the second one did not disappoint!
Eden Eville is sent to the castle to exact revenge and find out the truth about her parents. Along the way, she meets a dark and mysterious man named Dorian. Will she uncover the truth and fullfil a prophecy that is being whispered about? Read and find out! I couldn’t put it down. Kept me second guessing all the way to the end. Can’t wait for the next one in the series!
I was so thrilled to see the second book to the daughters of Eville series because I fell in love with the first. Honestly this is great as a stand alone with the perfect layers to add to the series. I instantly felt connected to Eden with her feelings of not being good enough because honestly who doesn’t from time to time? She grows so much in this enchanting story that makes my heart swell to see a strong female lead that truly finds herself. Reading series after series from this author I can say her writing has grown so much. I couldn’t find one thing wrong in this story and loved that any question I had along the way was answered. If you’re looking for a book that will engage you and bring you into its world well this is the book for you! Enjoy.. you can thank me later.
Nothing is as it seems… What an extraordinary adventure! I loved Eden’s story SO MUCH; I especially enjoyed her wit and watching her confidence grow. My expectations for this story were high, and they were greatly exceeded! I can’t wait for more from the sisters of Eville!!
