Meet Odd Thomas, the unassuming young hero of Dean Koontz’s dazzling New York Times bestseller, a gallant sentinel at the crossroads of life and death who offers up his heart in these pages and will forever capture yours. “The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why.” But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Sometimes the … reluctant confidant. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it’s different.
A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe. Aided by his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Odd will race against time to thwart the gathering evil. His account of these shattering hours, in which past and present, fate and destiny, converge, is a testament by which to live—an unforgettable fable for our time destined to rank among Dean Koontz’s most enduring works.

loved this book, love all of his books ! the story sucks you right in!
Read this several years ago. My first Dean Koontz book. Loved it.
The Odd Thomas series isn’t Koontz’s best, but it’s typical Koontz. Misfit finds his place, etc. Not nearly up to the chills and thrills of his earlier books but still Koontz.
I recommend all of the Odd Thomas books. Koonts has a wonderful talent for creating interesting characters. He also has an occasional humorous turn of phrase that eases the tension of the story.
I have no idea why I like the Odd Thomas books so much, but I do. They hook me every time.
Incredible story and characters that stick with you long after the book is finished.
Odd is a perfect name for this character! I’ve read all of the Odd Thomas books and enjoyed these quirky characters!
Found I didn’t like a book written in the words of a computer!! Yuck……
One of my favorite Koontz books. Sometimes having a talent or gift is a curse. As you read Odd Thomas, you begin to understand this seemingly normal, funny guy is anything but normal. And the things he sees are anything but. Koontz delivers another stunning book, part scary, part funny, and a little twisted. World building off the charts, …
I love this entire series
Another of my top 10 books
This series by Dean Koontz is totally entertaining and definitely original. Most of his books are just a tad too scary for me, but this series is just perfect! If you want a page-turner, this book and the whole series is for you!
Odd Thomas is a really interesting character. He sees dead people and is followed around by Elvis’ ghost. There’s funny bits and scary bits. Really good series.
Fantastic book. Fascinating characters. Start to an awesome series. One of Koontz’s best.
Odd is such a unique character. However, I don’t believe I would want to be a close friend. He’s surrounded by odd.
Odd is an excellent character.
I loved this book so much that I am reading the whole series. Odd is a quirky character who sees the dead. But he also senses when brutal tragedies are coming and only he can stop them.
This series is one of my favorites. I re-read the books and always enjoy them.
I’ve read every book in the Odd Thomas series, definitely Odd!
One of Koontz’s best work so far!!!!
