Meet Odd Thomas, the unassuming young hero of Dean Koontz’s dazzling New York Times bestseller, a gallant sentinel at the crossroads of life and death who offers up his heart in these pages and will forever capture yours. “The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why.” But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Sometimes the … reluctant confidant. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it’s different.
A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe. Aided by his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Odd will race against time to thwart the gathering evil. His account of these shattering hours, in which past and present, fate and destiny, converge, is a testament by which to live—an unforgettable fable for our time destined to rank among Dean Koontz’s most enduring works.

Loved this strange but awesome series!!
Odd Thomas can see the dead and possesses what he refers to as psychic magnetism, meaning that he is drawn to the person or object of which he is thinking. He uses his special skills to prevent harm from coming to others. A very interesting character.
Odd Thomas has a spiritual gift, in that he can see them, those who stayed after they died. He’s always lived in the same town, works as a fry cook, and spends time with the love of his life, Stormy Llewellyn. But when evil comes to town, he kicks everything into high gear in the hope that he’ll be able to stop it from destroying his desert home. …
Very interesting story. It definitely kept me engaged and the ending was a total surprise, I did not see it coming. I have been reading the additional Odd Thomas stories. Dean Koontz does not disappoint
If it’s a Dean Koontz books then I’ve probably read and loved it. However, it’s going to be hard for me to love anything more than I adore Odd Thomas. It’s such a fun, scary, and emotional book. If you love the paranormal with a side of wit, you have to read this series.
I love Dean Koontz. I’ve read a lot of his novels and enjoy his characters and how he keeps peaking my interest. I haven’t read all of the Odd Thomas novels…but I’m working on it!!!! Think I’m on #5. Just enjoy Odd Thomas himself and his intelligence and LOVE his sense of humor. This is one of the best series in my opinion. I love it that each …

If you have never read the Odd Thomas series by master storyteller Dean Koontz, you’re missing a treat! I have read this wonderful book and its first two amazing sequels and I can’t recommend the three books more highly! Odd Thomas might seem like just ordinary fry cook living in the small California town of Pico Mundo till you get to know him. …
I love the Odd Thomas books!
Best one in the entire series.
Dean Koontz NEVER disappoints!
Love this series
The first entry into the saga of Odd Thomas, the first one I read that lead to seeking out the rest of the series and always awaiting the next entry into Odd’s life. Mr. Koontz’s writing makes you believe that Odd is a friend and you care about him and those he loves. Thank you Mr. Koontz for this new friendship
Hooked from page 1.
The Odd Thomas series starts out good, it is Koontz after all, by the end of the series you will have read the most beautiful and intriguing prose show casing the depth of this author’s imagination – nothing held back. I think Odd Thomas’s journey rivals A Hundred Years of Solitude.
Quirky and funny, Odd is full of quotable insights.
I devoured this entire series about a fry-cook who can see and communicate with dead people, although they don’t speak. I love well-written paranormal novels, and Dean Koontz has become one of my favorite authors.
I love Dean Koontz and this book is way better than the movie.
A lot of fun. Love the character and the premise.
