Meet Odd Thomas, the unassuming young hero of Dean Koontz’s dazzling New York Times bestseller, a gallant sentinel at the crossroads of life and death who offers up his heart in these pages and will forever capture yours. “The dead don’t talk. I don’t know why.” But they do try to communicate, with a short-order cook in a small desert town serving as their reluctant confidant. Sometimes the … reluctant confidant. Sometimes the silent souls who seek out Odd want justice. Occasionally their otherworldly tips help him prevent a crime. But this time it’s different.
A stranger comes to Pico Mundo, accompanied by a horde of hyena-like shades who herald an imminent catastrophe. Aided by his soul mate, Stormy Llewellyn, and an unlikely community of allies that includes the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Odd will race against time to thwart the gathering evil. His account of these shattering hours, in which past and present, fate and destiny, converge, is a testament by which to live—an unforgettable fable for our time destined to rank among Dean Koontz’s most enduring works.

Question of the week: What’s the strangest book you ever enjoyed?
That’s a hard question to answer since I tend to read books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Ann Rice, and several others with what I would consider a very vivid imaginations.
I picked not just one book but the whole “Odd Thomas” series by Dean Koontz. Odd Thomas is a rather odd …
Wow … wow … wow!!! Dean Koontz at his best (but in all truth I don’t think he knows anything else) and I must say worth every page-turning, knee clinching, breath held moment. Let your fingers do the walkin’ and grab this one right now. It comes with a caution…leave the lights on.
This has quickly become one of my favorite series. I never get tired of Odd and his adventures. he’s funny, likable, he meets the most interesting characters and somehow his amazing exploits are always believable, always rooted in possibility. It’ll be sad if I ever run out volumes in this series.
I love books by Dean Koontz, but I would say Odd Thomas is probably my favorite. It is so quirky and original. I love the whole series.
This is a very strange and quirky story. I can’t say that I loved the writing style, but it was good enough to keep me invested. Odd Thomas is so hapless and unsure of himself, but follows his instincts, even when his logic tries to tell him otherwise. Also, coming from a traumatic upbringing, I found it really refreshing how Koontz used Odd’s …
I LOVED this one. The twists are unforgettable. Koontz is one of my favorite authors for this reason. He tells an excellent story and throws you for a loop when you least expect it.
One of his best books….love ODD THOMAS!!
I had stopped reading Dean Koontz because his stories had gotten so, so dark. Then I found this series! Very few times do I laugh out loud at a book , even fewer times I have goosebumps and almost never at the same time! I Love, Love, Love this series!!!
I really like Odd Thomas, he’s quirky and likeable character. Read them all!
Loved it and looking forward to the next one .
Loved them all
Odd Thomas, the young man that can see more than just the dead. He spends his days as a short order cook, his evenings with his best girl, and a bit of quality time hanging with a well known face or two. Nothing could be simpler. However, the Fates have more in store for Odd. He is reluctantly coaxed into using his special gifts to help others. …
Odd Thomas is the great character that only Koontz could develop
