Kiahna’s will is very clear: before her seven-year-old son, Max, can be turned … turned over to the state, he must spend the summer with the father he’s never met, the father who doesn’t know he exists: Connor Evans. Now will the presence of one lonely child and the truth he represents destroy Connor’s family ? Connor & Michelle have a very happy marriage. She is unaware of an affair Connor had 9 years ago during a very interesting interlude. She would never know about it, and Connor would not be aware of Max, except that Kiahna was an airline hostess, and her plane went down. The way Connor and Michelle work through the situation with Max is beautiful.
This book is a must read tearjerker. A story of redemption, forgiveness, love and happily ever after. It shows what owning up to one’s mistakes and listening to the voice of God can cause to happen.
She writes the best stories! Try to read all of them!
Karen Kingsbury is one of my top favorite authors. I love the way she writes .. getting my heart right in there with the characters in her stories and praising God and giving Him the credit for renewed and restored lives. I thank God for using her to bless my heart.
I enjoyed this book; it was a nice change in a plot. It moved along fairly well but there were moments of drag, and I really didn’t like Michele, even though she came through. Definitely not overdone on Christianity.
This is one of the books you can hardly put down. Wonderful ready. I enjoy all of Karen’s books. Do Not missing reading this one.
This is by far the best book I have read in years! I couldn’t put it down as I followed the circumstances the characters were living. It was very touching and inspirational. I would highly recommend this book!
This book is very well written – I laughed and cried more tears than any book I have ever read. The story of forgiveness and love will make you smile.
Young Max loses his Mom, a flight attendant, to a crash. He doesn’t have anyone but his babysitter who is too sick to keep hi other than a Dad, whose is a married pilot, with two young daughters, he doesn’t know. His Mom’s request is that he’s to spend two weeks with his Dad, but under no circumstances should his Dad, Colin, is to tell he’s Max’s Dad unless he & his family decides to keep him. In the meantime Colin’s wife will do everything she can do to make Colin give up Max. It takes little Max to share his faith in God with all, including Colin’s wife to break down the barriers. This book is both tragic & inspiring. Karen Kingsbury has done it again in a faith-filled realistic book in Oceans Apart.
I love all of her books but like that this is a stand alone and very bold.
This is a wonderful story about the power of forgiveness.
A heartwarming story of love and trials walked through by faith.
Love this book!!!
Karen always writes something to remind me of my relationship to God. I have read just about all her books since the early 2000’s.
This book spoke to my heart. I could not put it down. I read a lot of good books but this book is exceptional for any and all readers. I most highly recommend it.
