Discover the New York Times bestselling Lux series, which RT Book Reviews called “A thrilling ride from start to finish,” from the very beginning… hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.

great, epic YA series. Relatable FMC, interesting sci-fi concept
I first read the Lux series back in 2012/2013. I was skeptical reading this series at first because, as Katy, aliens did not do it for me. But my tune quickly changed after Daemon came into my life. I can honestly say that this is the series that made me fall in love with reading. I have not been reading much until that point and this series had …
One of the best first books in a series EVER. I was hesitant to read this based on the summary but I absolutely adore JLA so I give it a shot based on how much I enjoy her other books. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Katy is soooo relatable, I love her humor and sarcasm and she thinks like she is one of us.. CUZ SHE IS!!!! BOOK NERDS UNITE! This book …
That was my first book to read from JLA and I am still in love with every single character!
A great introduction to this series. It’s very well portrayed and the funny end left me wanting for more. Luckily, I don’t have to wait for the next book.
This Science Fiction revolves around the Luxians who have settled on earth. Only a select few know of their existence. Katy has just relocated to this remote location, and this is where she …
Obsidian is the first book in the Lux series and this was just a great way to start off a new series. I just had so much fun getting to enter this world and meet these new characters. I just absolutely fell in love with these great characters and I loved getting to go along for the ride. I just couldn’t get enough of this story and I was sad to …
I read this book some time ago and recently re-read it. I thought that the female lead put up with too much flip flopping on how the male lead treated her. If this was real life, my recommendation to her would have been to stay away from him. However, this is fiction, she didn’t stay away, and the story was very exciting and I enjoyed it.
Emotionally Frustrating but Important… I love Jennifer Arementrout. Her books (especially the Lux Series) are some of the best paranormal romance books I’ve read thus far. However, I have to be honest, Obsidian annoyed me for reasons I couldn’t quite place. It left me unsettled and slightly angered. Parts of this book bothered me because it …
The beginning of Daemon and Katy’s story and the start of an amazing series. Like I stated before, Katy moves to a new town and it turns out her hot – but assholish – neighbor is an alien. I know what it sounds like – if you’re like me and go “eh? Aliens…. how about no?” but I honestly couldn’t put this book – or series – down!
A YA paranormal …
Really enjoyed these books.
This is something I normally wouldn’t like. It has most of the things that turns me off a book:
• super hot male lead who knows it and is a total jerk
• female lead who hates the male lead but can’t resist him
• emphasis on physical appearance and how the male lead is really out of this world (pun intended) handsome
So sue me for enjoying this …
Great series
I’m not going to lie to you, I have always been scared of aliens. Yes. I won’t even watch ET. This series didn’t appeal to me much and it took a friend pushing me into reading it for me to pick it up. Unsurprisingly, I am obsessed. I am glad that i read the prequel first so that I know why Daemon is so prickly towards Katy. He lost his brother …
I love everything JLA writes and Obsidian is no exception. Hot alien next door, secret government organisations and a slow burn attraction. Loved every bit!
This was the best writing I have ever read and after finishing the six book series two weeks ago I still think about Katy and Daemon
This review MAY contain spoilers.
My god, the hype surrounding this book is totally legit! I have never been so happy to be surprised by book hype before. It often leads me to disappointment, but this book is deserving of the praise that it receives.
The first great thing about this book is that is sucked me right into the story. The first …
Good romance and action :)) I reallllyyy recommend
I am SO glad I waited to read this, and that I bought the entire series at once. There is no way I would have been able to patiently wait for Onyx to release!
Though Obsidian checks off the same boxes as so many other YA novels, especially those of the fantasy and PNR genres, and at times is reminiscent of other books, Armentrout still manages to …
LOVE!!!!!
My only disappointment is that Kat and Daemon didn’t hook up before the book ended.
OMG!!! The chemistry between them was intense. I couldn’t wait for them to get together…. and I’m still waiting.
It’s not entirely a bad thing. The build up to this romance is at the top of the charts.
I loved the sci-fi aspect too, and usually that’s …
