Romantic in a twisted, off sort of way. This man Peter is not completely right in the head, and he is so obsessed about her that the word “mine” takes on a completely different flavor than other alphas that are possessive.

This. This is the type of dark romance I look for. It’s not a quick read -thank goodness!- and this allows for a full, detailed and developed story. From start to finish, this story develops, unfolds and builds while the reader is absolutely enthralled and dragged along for a hell of a ride.
Peter was the kind of amazingly complex character that I’ll be looking for, for years to come. But I know I’ll end up just rereading this series (this author) gleefully. Totally focused on whatever he’s decided to do, to take care of, to address. Tragically flawed, and unapologetic. The kind of character that stays with you.
Sara was wonderfully believable. Her push and against and resistance to Peter simply made sense. Written in a way that didn’t make me start to feel sorry for Peter. She was smart, wants TSTL, reasonable and caught up in something she never could have prepared for.
And then the story. Fantastic, somehow absolutely believable and so. Very. Hawt. This was amazing read. This series is well worth the time for fans of this romantic genre. And frankly, I can see as a possible introduction to new readers of the dark. However, that’s at your own risk and any dislike of the genre -not the writing or story- definitely shouldn’t reflect on the author or in the review.

I seriously cannot get enough of this series! It’s action packed, steamy and heartbreaking. This book tortured my heart. Peter and Sara have a very complicated relationship and everything keeps getting more and more twisted up as time passes during Sara’s captivity. She wants him and has love for him but she also wants her old life back and misses her parents. Peter loves Sara beyond obsession but refuses to let her go. He can’t bare the thought of not having her. This book is so well written, as are all Anna Zaires other books. The story keeps twisting more and more and I can feel something is about to happen to blow everything up. And the ending to this book is something I wasn’t expecting at all. I can tell the next book is going to be a wild ride.

Human emotions are a pot full of boiling complications with a dash of crazy, and love is the most complex one of them all. Sara’s learning this better than anyone as her and Peter’s story continues. At the end of book one, Sara finds out the FBI is closing in on her tormentor, Peter. Despite her terror, she can’t stop the mounting feelings she has for the man who has been forcing his way into her life. When she gets the chance to tell the FBI where he is and get their help, she ignores it. Sara tells herself she made the choice because her father’s heart isn’t as strong as a bull, and the thought of what the stress of needing FBI’s protection could be fatal. As Peter gently takes care of her headache, she realizes she wants him safe and she wants his love. The last thing she does before the needle pricks her neck is warn him about the FBI he already knows about.
Peter is determined to make Sara his no matter the cost, even when it costs her everything she’s ever loved. When she warned him, he felt confident that knocking her out with the needle full of drugs he had waiting was the right decision to make. Her warning him had to mean she wanted this on some level, and if not he knows he will find a way to make her want him as much as he wants her.
What. A. Story! I mean I get into well written dark romances, but falling in love with them is not something I tend to do. The tension is high starting with the very first line, and the extreme lengths Peter is willing to go just to make sure he stays with the women he loves is frightening yet heart melting. This isn’t your typical “he wants to be a better man for her so he will change himself to do so” kind of thing, more like he wants a home, family, and the kind of safe peace a gun and training can’t give him. He realizes he wants Sara’s love but at the same token he knows he can’t pretend to be something he’s not, so instead he is going to try and carve out a world where they can be together. Somehow this raw truth approach to a love story really touched me. Don’t get me wrong, living with a killer is not the fairy tale happy ending I have in my head, but real honesty in a relationship is very refreshing and in this case challenging at the same time.
Sara is more confused by her feelings than ever in this book and the intensity of her situation finally sets in. She wants and loves Peter and she’s starting to admit that to herself, however she also wants her old life back. The way this plays out really makes my heart break for her. I can feel how much she cares about him and the sting she feels for the loss of her independence.
The character development shown in this book is really good. Both Peter and Sara start to change from the situation they find themselves in and the feelings they have for each other. While Peter can’t change who he is, he does find his heart warming from its icy tomb. I adore how he starts to show signs of really wanting to live again how he wants a life that isn’t just about death. The way he starts to do everything for Sara in an attempt to win her love rather than use threats to force her to act like it, really pulled me in.
For Sara, all of this pushes a stronger side of her to the surface. She allows herself to explore her interests without pressure from her family and friends. She starts to face not only her own truth, but her captor as well. she even makes a few good attempts at escaping in this book no matter what might happen if she gets caught.
This dark romance package is all tied together in a nice bow of action. Peter is no saint and we get to see that during one of his jobs in this book. I cannot say how much I respected and was wowed by the way Anna Zaires pulled the action scenes in this one off. During the first job, the writer combines the danger of Peter’s business, a kick butt action scene, and the growing love Sara has for her dark assassin in beautiful detail. Expect guns a blazing, explosions, close calls, and charred mattresses with an ending that leaves you dying for the third book…. is it July yet?
Overall:
Honestly, I got this book back with it first came out a little over five months ago and I have read it at least four times now. This is hands down my favorite dark romance. Even though I first read this one back in 2017, this blog only just started on April 18, 2018 so Obsession mine might make a mention in my best of the year list.
Would I recommend it:
Let me think, well given the cons against the pros I think that – of course I recommend it! On a serious note, if you have triggers, or are not into light BDSM and forced scenes this might not be a read for you. Otherwise, scroll back up to the where to buy section is, click on a link and spend some money.
Happy Reading.

So good. Love the suspense. Love the angsty push/pull of Sara struggling with her conflicting feelings about Peter. Does she care about him? SHOULD she? If she does, does it make her a bad person? Would it betray her husband’s memory?
I loved the cameos of characters from her0 other series as well. It’s fun to catch up with them after the fact and see how they’re doing.
Anyway, these books are going down easy like wine coolers at a high school party. Off I go to read the next one!

Fantastic read! Peter and Sara’s story continues in this book! I love Peter’s determination to keep Sara by his side. Peter is a completely jealous and possessive alpha who won’t let anyone come between him and his woman. This series has an enthralling plot, steamy sex scenes and no OW/OM drama!
Ms. Zaires writes some of the most stubbornly persistent, yet loving, heroes! I highly recommend this series!

With the FBI closing in on him, assassin Peter Sokolov and his team have no choice but to flee America to one of his safehouses in Japan, taking Sara with him. Peter’s obsession with Sara knows no bounds … he can’t picture his life without Sara, and he’s ruthless enough — and selfish enough — to ensure he won’t need to. Dr. Sara Cobakis has lost her family, friends, career and freedom after being kidnapped by Peter and vows to escape. But when Peter tells Sara “You’re mine, Sara, and you’re going to stay mine no matter what it takes”, it’s as if a perverse part of her wants this and revels in the depths of his obsession with her. Sara’s resistance to Peter’s charms prove futile until she starts to suspect that he’s trying to get her pregnant. Peter is devastated at the lengths Sara is willing to go to escape from him and asks her “Do you dread a child with me that much?” Sara replies “In a different world, the one where I’d been born yours, it would be different. You wouldn’t be a fugitive assassin …” Peter realizes that Sara hasn’t given up on escape and she never will. Peter can’t let Sara go, but he can’t keep her either and can’t figure out what to do … until he gets an email from a prospective client for an impossibly dangerous job that could be the answer to everything. Note: this story ends on a major but brilliant cliff hanger that’s killing me. Fans of The Twist Me Trilogy and The Capture Me Trilogy will be delighted with the appearance or mention of beloved characters from these trilogies.
Anna Zaires and Dima Zales team up to deliver a dark romance full of non-stop action, nail biting suspense and sizzling hot scenes for a book that suck you in and leave you desparate for more. I can’t wait to read Destiny Mine, the conclusion to the Tormentor Mine Trilogy.

I first want to say that Obsession Mine is the second book in the Tormentor Mine Series so you will want to read Tormentor Mine (book 1) before reading this book so you can follow the storyline. This book picked up right where Tormentor Mine left off so there was no confusing what was happening.
Peter has just abducted Sara, taking her away from the life she knew as an OB/GYN delivering babies, bringing life into this world, and taking her away from her elderly parents and the few friends she had. He was keeping her in a house at the top of a mountain in Japan secluded from the world in their own safe little bubble.
This part of their story showed more of the meticulous militant that lives in Peter and his three friends. He tends to obsess over Sara making life difficult for all involved. Sara in turn wants nothing more than to escape all the while catching feelings for Peter.
This book seemed to drag on a bit slower than the first book. Where Tormentor Mine was more fast paced, Obsession Mine seemed to show that he routine in their lives so it lost a bit of steam in my opinion. I’m now about to dive into Destiny Mine to see what happens next because the main story is soooo good.

Please notice that this is book 2 in the Tormentor Mine series. You must have read Tormentor Mine (book 1) before reading this one.
Picking up right where we left off, Peter takes Sara away from her life. Her life as an Ob/Gyn Doctor, Daughter of parents who adore her and the FBI knocking at her parent’s door questioning them…
Peter knows one thing for sure, he will not survive without Sara. Sara will only escape if Peter dies. Peter can confirm that!! As we weave through the daily routine of what a captor does to plot her escape, Peter is taking on new jobs. Jobs he is taking in hopes that someday his bank roll will be huge enough to retire.
It’s not till Peter opens the last email of the day, that he realizes that this could be the job that allows him to retire.
Darn you Anna Zaires!!! I just threw my kindle saying NOoooooooo!!!! I will not allow this to happen!!!! What an ENDING!!! Need BOOK 3 STAT!!!

It’s here, finally! Oh, how I‘ve waited for OBSESSION MINE, the second book in Anna Zaires’ Tormentor Mine trilogy to be released! And it’s as deliciously dark and gritty as I hoped it would be and more, Peter’s deadly obsession with Sara slowly becoming my addiction as well.
And, oh, Peter Sokolov. Tall, dark and handsome – possessive and dangerous – and simply not a good man – a monster, as Sara so often likes to call him. And yet he treats her like nothing but a queen in every aspect that counts, well, apart from the two minor ones: setting her free and in the bedroom. Because Sara is his, irrevocably, utterly, until death does them part – there is no need to exchange vows for him to know that. His obsession with her is borderline unhealthy, and when he has to leave the country to dodge the FBI, he simply kidnaps Sara and takes her with him – easy as.
And Sara… She knows she should loathe the man that stole so much more than just her former life, that Peter is bad news, deadly, creepy and twisted and simply wrong. And she does fight this undeniable attraction to him with every bone in her body – but feels that she is losing spectacularly, that she somehow, to some degree, craves Peter’s darkness, his roughness – even more so when she learns more about his past and the events that shaped the man he is today…
Book one was great, but this one was absolutely fabulous! I became so much more intrigued by all things Peter, the walking contradiction this man poses, by the all-consuming, slightly dark-tinged affection he is showering Sara with. Maybe I even got a bit obsessed with all the secrets being revealed myself. Boundaries are pushed, panties set on fire by the explosive tension and the wickedly dirty sex between the two of them.
And then there was this cliffhanger… ugh! It’s nasty, it’s evil – at least when you’ve read other books by this author and loved its characters as well. Again, I will be waiting on pins and needles for the sequel (and conclusion) of this dark yet emotional tale. Bring on Destiny Mine!

Peter and Sara’s story continues in Obsession Mine as it delves deeper into their troublesome situation. Peter is determined to keep Sara, even if that means locking her away all to himself and Sara is determined to continue to guard her heart.
Just when I thought this book could not possibly get any better, it goes and gets better. Never have I been so involved in a book EVER! It’s twisted and dark but it’s also so touching and emotional. It wrecked my feelings and had me emotionally confused more times than I could count. One minute I want to just hate Peter but it’s simply not possible because more times than not I found my heart breaking for the two of them instead, for different reasons of course.
And the ending!!!! It has me pulling out my hair with the need to know MORE! I can’t wait for the next book to see what’s to come off all of this.
I could type on and on about this book but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. But just know that this book will put you on an emotional roller coaster, so hang on tight.
I reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Stockholm syndrome or true love? Obsession Mine is the second book in Anna Zaires Tormentor Mine series; and it picks up right where the first book left off. If you have not read book one I suggest you go do that now.
Peter is not only possessive of Sarah he is obsessed. He wants her all to himself and with the FBI breathing down his back; he needs to leave the country. So he kidnaps Sarah and takes her with him. And this is where the second part of the series starts.
I love a good twisted read. I especially love to go in blind; I do not want to know what happens beforehand. The blurb for this book is brief and gives you absolutely nothing to go on. It is perfection and made me want to read this all the more. You are probably asking why I am telling you this, well it because I am going to be like that blurb. Simple and short, and vague as can be.
You should not be attracted to your captor right. Well, Sarah is and I cannot blame her. Peter is one creepy yet hot kidnapper, and it just works for him. Sarah fights how she feels for Peter, but this is understandable given the situation. I really do not know what else to say, except this is one hot and twisted read.
In case you were wondering, this does end in yet another cliffhanger. I’m not going to lie I love cliffhangers, that’s right I said it. I love them because that means there will be more to the story, more words coming from the very talented Anna Zaires. But that did not stop me from screaming no and throwing my kindle. Ok I didn’t throw my kindle, because then I would lose all the words, but I did think about it. Seriously, though, do I really have to wait to find out what happens next? I need book three ASAP! Four obsessive stars!
Romantic in a twisted, off sort of way. This man Peter is not completely right in the head, and he is so obsessed about her that the word “mine” takes on a completely different flavor than other alphas that are possessive.
