Everything changed the night our eyes met across the room. His green gaze upon me prickled my skin with uncustomary warmth while my peek beneath his cuff—of a riot of color on his wrist—sparked my insatiable curiosity. Tall and mysterious, Kader was a man whose secrets I longed to know. Little did I realize that the night we met was only the beginning—the beginning to the end of the existence I … existence I knew.
What will happen as his assignment becomes our obsession?
From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new dark romance bringing us back to the same dangerous underworld as SECRETS. You do not need to read the Web of Sin trilogy to get caught in this new and intriguing saga, Tangled Web.
OBSESSED is book two of the TANGLED WEB trilogy which began with TWISTED and will conclude with BOUND.
Have you been Aleatha’d?

I was drawn in from the very beginning with this book. Kader is very mysterious and always has his walls up but when it comes to Laurel he doesn’t know why he lets his walls down. Laurel just wants to know more about Kader and how he has become this way. This book has so many twists and turns and I was so surprised by some of the things in this book. Overall this book had a little bit of everything that I was looking for.
I am OBSESSED with this book. The first book was really good, but this book was just more! I can’t wait for book three. I need more laurel and kader ASAP!
This story read very much like the transition book it really is. Kaden moves Laurel to Montana to protect her while he tries to figure out what’s going on with the medication she was developing. They are in an impenetrable ranch in the middle of nowhere with very sophisticated defenses. Laurel is isolated from everything she knew and furthermore, her family thinks she absconded with the secrets of her medical investigations. She’s anguished for her parents and sister but Kaden insists in total non-communication.
Here the story sort of circles around with Kaden switching personalities from a concerned lover to a cold-blooded killer. One day he wants to stay with her forever, the other day he wants to scare her off because he’s not good enough. Laurel kept psychoanalyzing him and trying to make a connection. When she asked for the fourth time to see his tattoos, I lost my patient and yelled at my Kindle. There’s a lot of rehashing the events of the first book, but no conclusions are made.
The story evolves in dual POV’s and has flashbacks to the past, to four young men who took over the underworld of crime in Chicago. I hope in the next book eventually both stories clash and we’ll get somewhere.
There wasn’t much action and not a lot of information is disclosed in this book, and it made it a little tedious somewhere in the middle. I was feeling that we weren’t getting anywhere, and Kaden was being very stubborn. He’s obsessed with Laurel but he was fighting it, and poor Laurel kept looking for the personality of the man who protected her but she kept coming up with number four, the cold guy. They are getting closer, but slowly and with many setbacks. I think the third book is going to have a lot of surprises, many of them unexpected.
This series keeps getting better and better and much more intriguing. When you think you’re close to figuring out what in the world is going on BOOM another secret is revealed and another mystery appears. But this time I’m left with more questions than answers and now I’m actually scared for Laurel. I don’t know what to think anymore and I think I have an idea of who’s behind all of this but the question is why?!?! Where’s the conclusion because I need to know right now!!!
***SPOILER ALERT: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ TWISTED (BOOK #1) FIRST ***
Obsessed is book two of the Tangled Web trilogy. You must read Twisted, book one, in this trilogy first. Set in Chicago’s underworld that was introduced in the Web of Sin trilogy, Obsessed picks up where Twisted left off- a bombshell revelation was made by Kader! This had me craving more!
“You’re mistaken. That wasn’t what I was hired to do.”
“It wasn’t?”
“No. I was hired to kill you.”
As Kader and Laurel’s story continues so does the questions. So many questions, so little answers. Mystery and suspense continue to add to their story as well. And then there is Kader. He is complex and torn. Is he Laurel’s savior or demise…
“This man, for some reason, wanted to believe that he wasn’t a person with emotions and needs. He wanted to believe he was he was a cold sculpture, but that wasn’t what I saw. Finally.”
Obsessed had me on my toes as many situations were occurring. Deaths, threats, people disappearing, formulas, betrayal, and the introduction of Kader’s personalities. All of those wove a complex web that had me wondering what was really happening. Kader’s personalities were not a favorite part of the story for me but a necessary part as it brings you to the man he is today. Kader’s anguish over his sister’s disappearance was palpable! This added another layer to the already complex man.
“Weeks, months, or years didn’t lessen the trauma that came with having your sister disappear on her way home from school.”
Kader and Laurel have great chemistry and a connection that only Aleatha could twist into their story! As Kader’s layers begin to peel away Laurel can’t help but analyze him and starts to put the pieces together….
“I couldn’t figure out my obsession with this woman or hers with me. I wanted it, and yet I didn’t. I was drawn to the way she looked at me – saw me, drawn to how it was different than with anyone else.”
I found the Tangled Web trilogy to be much more complex and technical with a good dose of suspense. And of course it is a dark romance as well! There are back stories throughout and another powerful ending! Can’t wait to see how everything comes together in the conclusion, Bound!

Gah! Every single time this author ties me up in knots! I have no idea where this plot is going, who is the bad guy and what’s even real anymore. What’s more, I’m once again left hanging, suspended in mid air like an idiot! The plot is a complex one; one I find I have to dig deep in my mind to remember what happened in book 1. The author is quite good at dropping in reminders.
I always find the middle book of a trilogy something and nothing… the plot is developed more and a few crumbs are dropped and this was no exception. In this book we are given a look in to the back history of Kadar and we can now see the connection to Sparrow enterprises. The relationship between Kadar and Laurel is being woven which as you may guess has secrets of its own. Not so many revelations in this book but the series is set to finish with one almighty sucker punch. I know it’s coming and anyone who knows this authors writing will know it’s coming too and that’s what makes me keep coming back to this author time and time again…. The knockout punch that will knock your world of its axis.
The story truly is a tangled web! Looking forward to part 3
When last we saw Kader and Laurel, Aleatha Romig made our stomachs drop with a closing line in Twisted that unleashed all the fears we have for our new favorite Romig lovebirds.
In this second book of the trilogy, Romig dives deeper into Kader and Laurel, filling you in on some more details about their relationship. All along, though, she builds this sense of worry. Someone wants Laurel’s formula, and it must be someone pretty dangerous because the Sparrows are involved in helping Laurel.
That’s right. THE SPARROWS. As in Sterling, my favorite Romig Hot Hero. If Sterling is called in, you know you’re dealing with something truly threatening.
The sexy times in this book will curl your toes in the BEST ways. I’m pretty solidly #TeamSterling, but Kader almost makes me reconsider.
As for the cliffhanger, let’s just say that Aleatha Romig does not play nice. If you think the Twisted cliffy is vicious, this one will leave you rocking in a corner, sobbing.
I can’t wait to see how Aleatha Romig gets Kader and Laurel out of this predicament.
OH MY GOD!! YOU GUYS NEED TO READ THIS SERIES!
It’s so hard to write this review without wanting to reveal a huge surprise in this book!
Aleatha is a Mastermind, her books never disappoint me and obsessed is no different I need more
This series leaves you like a thirsty person, wanting and begging more.
In this second installment of the trilogy we are back with Kader and Laurel. They are still trying to figure out who is after Laurel and why they want the research she has been working on. There is not much else I can say without giving things away and there is still the final book to come. I cannot wait to see how the trilogy ends and how Laurel and Kaders story ends up. There seems to be a lot of things to come that will surprise us, I was definitely surprised by some twists and turns that this one took. I definitely recommend this one!
Obsessed starts were Twisted leaves off, with an undeniable chemistry between Kader and Laurel. Tension is high as suspects come to light, twists and turns cause more intrigue, suspicion, but the chemistry continues to sizzle and Laurel is hit with a new revelation about Kader and Aleatha leaves me Obsessed wanting to know wtf is going to happen next in Bound?
Charlotte North and Jacob Morgan narrating a definite thumbs up.
Five stars for book two in the Tangled Web series. Im completely obsessed with these books and can’t wait for the final book in the trilogy. You always leave us wanting more!!!
I know I’m in the minority with rating but for some reason, I can’t fully connect to Kader and Laurel. It maybe that the story is very busy with Laurel’s formula, her disappearance, deaths, threats, and Kader’s personalities. But a new revelation about Kader really intrigued me and added the essence of psychological suspense. The first half was alittle slow for me. I wanted more progression of the story with some more answers but it did pick up towards the end and definitely peeked my interest
I will say that I loved the “7 years ago” chapters as it tied into the Web of Sin books. But those chapters all lead to where we are now, and of course, I had many more new questions, which is in true Aleatha Romig fashion. This author is the Queen of Twists and Turns so I can only imagine how the last book in the trilogy will play out.
I’m really interested in this series because of its connection to Web of Sin. Even though it isn’t necessary to read that series, I would highly recommend reading it. It enriches the reading experience of this series.
Kader used to have a different life to the one he has now and the reader gets to glimpse some of it in this instalment. I think some of our predictions from the first book are confirmed but more than that, we see so much more of what is happening. Laurel… I have mixed feelings about her. I feel as though she was too accepting of Kader and all that goes with him. She wasn’t afraid of him or even cautious of him when he revealed his true motivations in their “chance” meeting. Somehow I felt that this was unrealistic or at least naivety on her part. In addition, her relentless pushing of Kader to open up about himself is going to get her in trouble.
The two of them start tugging on a thread and it unravels some interesting revelations. The deeper down the rabbit hole we go, the more we realise that Laurel has been blind to all the motivations of the people around her. But we still don’t know who is the main shadow lurking and pulling the strings. Aleatha Romig has created a twisted tale that is gripping and engaging. The glimpses of the past add depth to the story and reveal connections that help fill in gaps in this puzzle. I am excited to see where the story will go next.
The second book of the Tangled web continues with the story of Kader and Lauren with more twist and turns making us more intrigued about these two characters that have many lies and a past that keeps lurking around making them doubt and fear about each other, what they feel or where these feelings are coming from.
In Obsessed we see and understand more about Kader we still trying to figure some things out but it seems like we’re getting closer to finally know what happened and why he is behaving and acting the way he has..
Lauren is finally understanding a little more about the mood changes in Kader, she doesn’t understand his mood swings but her own experience as a Dr. is making her aware about certain things that are probably the cause of this strange behavior. in Obsessed we get to see a more bold and decisive Lauren, she is determined to find what is going on even if that means falling for the wrong guy at the wrong time and place.
Love the chemistry between Lauren and Kader. no matter how much Kader tries to deny this or to pretend like nothing is happening and that he doesn’t feel what he is feeling, we can always feel his need and attraction for Lauren at all times even when he is not around her. His energy is always drawn to her and is always very palpable.. Lauren is also battling to understand her feelings but she is more clear on what she needs and wants even if at the moment she has to hide whatever is crossing her mind.
Obsessed is full of angst and intriguing moments in some way it feels very dark and obscure like something is about to happen and we’re about to find out.
a roller coaster of emotions Obsessed is an amazing continuation of the Tangled web series and we’re about to finally find every question we have been wondering off.. super ready to finally see what happens in Bound!!
I can’t get enough of these amazing characters!!
Ah! There’s nothing like an Aleatha Romig story to get your heart pumping. I am loving Laurel & Kader’s story!
Holy smokes there’s a lot unfolding. The glimpses into Kader’s past give the perfect blend into the present. This story is filled with suspense and anticipation and I can’t wait to see it all play out. A thrilling story that has me on the edge of my seat.
Book two of Kader and Laurel’s brings some answers and a lot more twists that are all delivered under an umbrella of nail-biting tension. Theres is a lot happening in this intense read as some secrets are revealed and layers are peeled back. Steam and suspense are woven throughout the engaging story line and will have you in need of a cold drink and sitting on the edge of your seat with anticipation. I loved every minute of it and I can’t wait for book three.
Obsessed is book 2 in the Tangled Web series. Twisted must be read before starting this one.
Twisted left me with so many questions and on the edge of my seat with anticipation for Obsessed.
Obsessed gets your mind even more tangled! You may get a few clues here and there for the lingering questions in your mind but now I have even more questions!
My mind was blown away with several revelations! I was totally blindsided. It’s so fun to try to figure out an Aleatha book but pointless because she keeps hitting you with twist after twist you don’t see coming at you until it’s too late and your jaw is on the floor!
Who can we trust? Does Kader really have Laurel’s best interests at heart? Who is behind it all? So many questions!!!
There is so much I want to say about this book but you have to read it with no clue as to what is about to hit you!
Now we have to wait for all the answers in Bound and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!! I am a Twisted, Obsessed fan who loves to be Aleatha’d!!
Wow. Aleatha Romig just out did herself. I became obsessed with Obsessed (Tangled Web, #2). The angst, the suspense, the steaminess, the mystery! So many great elements wrapped in Aleatha’s fabulous writing. Aleatha is one of those authors who delivers dark romance without dragging you down. She only drags you deeper into the story.
Obsessed does have a connection to the Web of Sin series (you do not need to read those to follow), but those who have read the Web of Sin series will squeal with joy when you find out what Aleatha has in store for us.
Have you been Aleatha’d?
I need to scream! I need the next book like now! Twisted started so damn good, but Obsessed took the story in a whole new level. We got a lot more about Kader, Laurel is still trying to figure him out and falling apart within this book. Kader is so damn complicated that gets you wondering within each chapter. This characters are becoming an all time favorite. So many twists, turns and cliffhangers, yes you will be left wondering for days and days. Hopefully next book will be out soon! A phenomenal 5 star!!!
Kader and Laurel are in hiding.
Still trying to figure out who’s after her research and who wants her dead.
Being together constantly has the sexual chemistry between them pulled so tightly with absolutely no give.
Whether they are butting heads or tangled in the sheets it’s always sizzling and it’s always hot.
Either way the outcome is explosive!
Ms. Romig gives us a little more insight into Kader and his past life.
Just enough to tantalize our tastebuds and leave us drooling for more.
And that bombshell of an ending had me crying for more.
What a meanie she is to leave us wondering omg what is Kader up to!
I’m now anxiously waiting for Bound
