Everything changed the night our eyes met across the room. His green gaze upon me prickled my skin with uncustomary warmth while my peek beneath his cuff—of a riot of color on his wrist—sparked my insatiable curiosity. Tall and mysterious, Kader was a man whose secrets I longed to know. Little did I realize that the night we met was only the beginning—the beginning to the end of the existence I … existence I knew.
What will happen as his assignment becomes our obsession?
From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a brand-new dark romance bringing us back to the same dangerous underworld as SECRETS. You do not need to read the Web of Sin trilogy to get caught in this new and intriguing saga, Tangled Web.
OBSESSED is book two of the TANGLED WEB trilogy which began with TWISTED and will conclude with BOUND.
Have you been Aleatha’d?

The second book in the series continues the story of Kader/Mason and Laurel, and dives further into the characters and their tangled pasts.
This series is one of Ms. Romig’s best characterizations, as Kader/Mason’s tangled past becomes more apparent. The plot is typical Romig with a web of tangled plot lines, and characters that weave in and out of the story but come together at the end…but that’s in the next installment!
I wasn’t fond of the cliff hangers at the end of the first book and this one, but Ms. Romig’s stories are worth waiting for. The series is complete now, so you’ll miss the torturous wait!
Don’t miss this series if you love dark romance…I feel it’s one of Ms. Romig’s best.
WOW!!! I am just addicted to this series. Obsessed by Aleatha Romig is the 2nd book in the Tangled Web Trilogy. Picking up where Twisted left off with Laurel & Kader in hiding, book two starts unraveling the history of the mysterious Kader. The characters are so well written, full of depth and emotionally intense. I could not put this down!! Uhggg… cliffhanger ending, I can not wait to dive into the next book!
5 stars minimum for Obsessed, book 2 of the Tangled Web series.
This book sets such an intense pace, broadening the narrative and gradually unveiling past events. This process is done so very well and maintaina the build up of events as well as our knowledge of Kader and Laurel. So many intricate links in the chain that make up this plot! The identities of friends and foes are only hinted at really, as we are lead further into the depths of this mystery around motivation, identity and complexity that is Kader. Laurel’s strength is tested as her emotions are bounced around. She is such a relatable character and it is impossible not to feel for her plight.
It would be an understatement to say that I have enjoyed this book. I have found it engrossing and so very readable. I absolutely cannot wait to read Bound!
OMG this was good, had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish – this is full of drama, intrigue, suspense and sizzling hot chemistry as you watch the drama unfold between Kader and Laurel.
Kader has made Laurel his mission, just not the one he was hired to do. He is obsessed with her, never experienced the emotions and wanting for another woman like he has for her, but he knows he should keep his distance, he is not a man she should get close to, she should be afraid but he can’t for the life of him figure out why she is not.
Laurel has been taken by Kader as they try and unravel the mysteries surrounding her research and the death of her colleague, and try to find out who wants her dead. She is drawn to Kader, she feels safe around him, which she knows is weird when she is for all intents and purposes a prisoner. Laurel sets about trying to get to know the real Kader and analysing him to understand him better. She wants him to reveal himself, more than just his tattoos, she wants the real him. But as she starts learning she starts to see different personalities in Kader come out, she works out there are 4 different personalities in him, with number 4 being the scary one. But she wants nothing more than to help him.
Brilliantly written with lots of plot twists, there’s still lots of secrets to uncover as the story goes back in time and we learn their background. There is a bit twist in the plot at the end, one I didn’t see coming, now I can’t wait to read the last book in this series! Highly recommended reading.

Hmmm…Obsessed starts off where Twisted ended. This time around, we learn more about our mysterious, dangerous, and sexy Kader. Aleatha consistently kept me guessing/wondering as her stories unfold. I have learned to not come to any conclusions, because soon enough Aleatha throws a “twist” and/or “turn” that just blows my mind…haha! Of course, there’s more development between these two characters, Kader and Laurel. Hmmph… Can it get anymore complicated?!? Well, it sure looks like it can…Ha! As always, well played Aleatha.
Intrigue, mystery, danger, suspense, even romance all twisted into this story kept me glued to the book. Of course, this trilogy exists in the same dark underworld as the Web of Sin trilogy; and, that is why Web of Sin characters crossovers can be found. Well, that’s if one has read the Web of Sin trilogy… Right!?! Anyways, Aleatha, like in the first book, gives just a little bit more to “wet the palate” even more so that kept me intrigued. Now, I so desperately need to read the final installment in the Tangled Web trilogy, Bound, to find out how this ends between these two characters! Whoa!!! And, the emotional rollercoaster continues… Now, onto Bound!
Thanks a lot, Aleatha! I am, again, a blubbering mess with this new trilogy of yours… Hahahaha!!!

After reading Twisted I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Obsessed. Twisted ended in a cliffhanger and I needed Obsessed ASAP.
For some reason I really struggled with Obsessed. I couldn’t connect with the Kadar and Laurel like I did in Twisted. I didn’t feel their chemistry. There was a lot going on with the story. New revelations and questions left unanswered, which hopefully get answered in the last book of the trilogy.
Theres a lot of suspense in this book which I loved. I also enjoyed Kadar, finding out more about his past, his identity, his personalities.
I loved the 7 years ago chapters, they tied in with the Web of Sin trilogy and we see how it’s all linked together.
I’m really excited to read the next book in this trilogy and I hope all my questions get answered!
This series has me on the edge of my seat! New things are happening, memories, feelings, secrets…..and then the ending! I’m at a loss for words. This book is amazing! I’m obsessed! Aleatha…….you got me yet again!! I’m left wanting more……have you been Aleatha’d?!
First I still love Patrick just throwing that out there. The story get more bizarre the more you read. The puzzle pieces are adding up and just when your at the edge of sanity BOOM Cliff hanger bitches lol I love it and I cant wait to see how this end.
Kader the man hired to kill Dr Carson. Who really is Kader and whats he going to do once he knows who she is
Laurel works trying to find research for .But she wasn’t the only one doing the same research and the both had half of the data on flashback up one was not enough without the other. Now shes learning maybe nothing and no one is who they seem. All she wants is her life back without find out all the players and pieces shes stuck with a man who may or may not be insane.
“I’m beginning to think you’ll be the death of me before this is over”
“That’s one thing you don’t have to worry about. The devil himself couldn’t keep me away from you.”
“Then why do you have a furnished room waiting for someone?”
“I don’t know. Maybe its for you.”
“Do you know how many people resort to meaningless apologies when they realize their time is up”
“I had visions of Roman goddess in togas. Those images paled in comparison to the one before me.”
“Laurel, for that I’m sorry, And know that I don’t ever apologize…ever.”
“I’m not saying no. I like it too.”My hands were still over his cheeks.”
“I like touching you too.”
“I’m no fucking good for you. You’re good for me. None of it matters. I’m not letting you go. You’re mine”
“Its like the circulation drained from your cheeks as I watched.”
“Who turns their back on the person hired to kill them?”
Kader and Laurel move further into the mystery of who wants her formula and her life…and now The Sparrows come into the picture. The story continues to twist like a pretzel…leaving us awaiting the next book
Everything is starting to come together for Laurel and Kadar. It’s so exciting to see this unravel. I can’t wait for book three!! Aleatha has a way of telling a story full of twists and turns. Keeping the reader intrigued, involved, and on the edge. This series is one of those “I can’t put it down” reads…my favorite kind. I am a super fan of Aleatha!!! Everything she writes is a MUST READ!!!
ARC for honest review. Who am I kidding….I pimped her so hard to get in on her street team!!!
I’m OBSESSED with Obsessed! I absolutely loved everything about it – the back story, the trail of clues leading you to all the “oh em gee” discoveries, and that CLIFF HANGER! Wow! Can’t wait for Bound
Second verse…just as good as the first! Maybe even better…
As this story continues to unfold, and while I feel I’ve already got it figured out…it still gives me chills when Romig reveals another piece to the puzzle.
Kadar and Laurel continue to dance around a truth they both know floats just below the surface of their memories. Time together, time apart, and the constant battle of wits had me flipping pages faster and faster.
I cannot wait to see where these flashbacks go, how they tie into the present, and when Romig makes her final reveal in the last installment of this amazing series…oh, what a tangled web indeed.
**4.5 Facing Fears, Stars**
I love this series! Obsessed is Book #2 in the Tangled Web series, which MUST be read in order. The story of Laurel and Kader just gets better and better with every turn of the page. Without giving anything away, I will just say that their story is filled with twists and turns, emotional highs and lows, strength, feistiness, sadness and everything in between. The journey is a roller coaster for sure but one you definitely will want to ride! Their chemistry continues to be off the charts and as always Aleatha will leave you hanging from that cliff until the next and final installment is released! Another EXCELLENT Aleatha masterpiece for sure!
Aletha has done it again. I could not put this book down. Can’t wait for the conclusion.
Great follow up to the Tangled Web series. A highly suspenseful read that is a page turner. Kader is an alpha male that makes you whimper. It’s a must read.
4.5 Gripping stars
Kader and Laurel’s story picks backs up where Twisted left off. While I thought the first book to be a tad slow, book 2 more than makes up for it. So much is revealed while new questions are asked. It’s twisty, suspenseful and gritty!! I loved every page.
Laurel and Kader as slowly starting to get to know each other, but past trust issues are always surfing the surface. Neither can get too close since both are essentially strangers. While more clues are revealed to so many truths, there will be some major truth bombs unleashed in the final story and I can’t wait!!! Kader and Laurel’s chemistry is off the charts, each page getting more steamy. Their relationship is anything but simple and easy.
I’m so excited for the next book. What does Aleatha have in store for the finale?? Stay tuned.
This book is not a stand alone. Do not try to even listen to (or read) this book without having read Twisted or you will be so totally lost and will not have the full enjoyment that this wondrous story has. The author really keeps you on you feet guessing as to what is going to happen next. Sure there are a couple givens in the story but just when you think one thing, you discover that isn’t correct.
The narration by Charlotte North and Jacob Morgan adds to the mystery and intrigue of the story with how they are able to bring Kader and Laurel to life. It is easy to get lost in listening to them telling the story and visual the scene. I would love to say more but I’m afraid that if I do, I will be giving spoilers because there is so much involved in this story that it is impossible. Just know you will find this to be one story that is difficult to walk away from and do your best to patiently wait for the third book in the series.
I anticipated this book so much and it did not disappoint! I love the internal battle and the twists and turns. This book picks right up where Twisted left off. If you have read Twisted do yourself a favor and grab this one!
Ugh, I think this one moved too slowly for me. Couple that with the fact that I can’t find any emotional attachment to the characters and I’m getting tired of Laurel’s, “woe is me, my life is over” bit and Kader’s whiplash “you are mine” vs “you’re just a job” sentiments towards Laurel.
I think there are some interesting twists here and when you combine that with the fact that there is a connection between the characters in this book and the characters in the Web of Sin trilogy that makes for some interesting storytelling and plot development but I feel like the story just stalled out in this book. Very little happened to move the story forward and the progression that was made character wise felt like too little too late for me. I felt like the writing was emotionless which is something I haven’t felt from this author before; we were being told what to feel instead of being made to actually feel it! It seems like it’s a case of “it’s just me, not the book” based on the other reviews, but I don’t know. I want to read the third book so I can find out how the story ends but I have to be honest, I skimmed a lot of this book just to find the meat of the story.
We were left with a few questions at the end of book one – at least i know i had a lot of questions and speculations. The great thing… this picks up exactly where we leave off.
Kader takes her out of state to keep her safe. Here he plays a push and pull game with Laurel. He wants her and wants to give in to her. He reels her in then pushes her right back out.
And trying to figure out who is behind all of this is just as confusing. Laurel just wants her life back, but at this point, that may not be a possibility.
So what happens? Definitely one click to find out.
