Wow just wow !
I enjoyed whisper by Dani Rene heaps …. I will definitely keep an eye out for whatever Dani releases in the future…
Two broken souls meet in desperate times … go there separate ways …. and find each other again to make each other whole again but can it with stand the truth and the monster that comes knocking …..
I can’t wait for the next instalment of this stand alone series … a must read ….
My only warning would be these books are dark reads if you have triggers you may want to reconsider reading this series
Whisper, book two from the Sins of Seven Series by Dani René is just as engrossing as the first. With lust at the heart of Eli and Giana’s story. Both with troubled pasts, will they be able to help each other?
The sexual chemistry between these two can be sensed while reading. With every emotion being pulled from you, the flashbacks contributed to most of those.
Another fantastic read in this series by Dani René, I can’t get through these stories quick enough. I now need to Indulge in the third part of the Sins of Seven Series.
Whisper will definitely leave behind a whisper in your heat and mind to carry around long after you’ve finished the book. I have rarely seen any author able to elicit such strong emotions. She makes it clear what abuse is and what the lifestyle is which is significant. Most of all she treats her characters and what they’ve gone through with kindness. If you want to see true character development, look no further than this book. Everything from sexual assaults to self-harm and suicide attempts to loss, it’s all there in her pages. Instead of passing judgment on the “brokenness” of a character she highlights the journey and the strength.
Do you want to see what honesty looks like on pages? And characters that will move you to tears both sad and happy? Twists that leave you breathless? All with a good dose of sexiness? This is the book for you. I read her first book in the series, Kneel, and now I anxiously await her next.
If you love dark and dirty romances mixed with every emotion you can think of, Whisper by Dani Rene is just for you.
Two people each with a past. A past that differs from each but both full of hurt and pain.
Two people with mind-blowing chemistry. The sex is an inferno.
Gia, a broken yet tough woman, has had a horrible life. The flashbacks of her life will have you in sobs, feeling her pain.
Eli is a closed off person, suffering from a grave loss. He, of course, tries to fill his void with sex. The flashbacks of his life will have you in tears.
Gia ran away from the man who caused her so much pain. Eli is grieving. Gia’s past finds her. Can Eli save her? Will they let their pasts’ define them? Can they break the walls they each have up? Will they have the happy ever after they both deserve?
Whisper had me in tears. Major sobbing. The hurt, the pain. Dani has done a remarkable job with Eli and Gia.
5 sobbing stars.
**Review by Elizabeth, Late Night Reviewer for Up All Night with Books**
Lust-
It’s just a whisper – a small voice in your head –
“It wraps you in its warmth, taunts you with its promises”
It slowly gets louder and louder until you have to find a way to ease the pressure –
It tells you-you are not worthy – you are not deserving
How do you escape it? Do you embrace it? Hide within it’s dark but comforting form? Or just get lost in it?
I am nothing at this point but simple reflections of so much pain and loss …
I am not sure I can make it through all seven sins – this one had me silently crying – the one where you feel the tears as they slowly track your cheeks – feel the small hitch in your chest as you try and catch the sob before it breaks – Rene’ ripped my heart from my chest with Giana and Elijah’s story –
One Word – RAW
This is book two in the series -I read a complimentary copy- it can be read as a stand-alone but why would you want to?
For some this will be a dark read -for others, it is an emotional journey that you do not want to miss- if you have never delved into the darker side you may want to start with something a tad “grayer” – I have said this before – heed the writer’s warnings, please
I do want to add something really quick – I have never listened to the playlists that accompany my books – OMG I did not know what I was missing – I did listen after I read the story – It made the whole thing even more emotional! – Don’t judge I am learning as I go – and I cried even harder through the playlist! Okay I did smile during Breakfast at Tiffany’s – Just picturing them during that one was sweet as h@ll
Dani has done it again! She continually brings us sinful men and the woman who seem to be able to keep them where they need to be. Eli and GIA have both been thru so much! Apart they are a mess. But together they are a force to be reckoned with! The Love They Have And The Things They do….. One Can Only Dream To Find Some Part Of That To Share With Someone. I can’t wait for the rest of the sinners to share their stories!!!!!
The second book in the Sins of Seven series and I really loved it. It is dark, tragic, haunting steamy and full of twists and turns. You will keep reading once you start.
Gina and Elijah are two broken characters, with scars on the inside and outside, but together they are whole.
A must read if you like the dark romance genre

Addicting. Riveting. Dirty and Filthy! The second novel in Dani Rene’s Sins of Seven will Whisper to you long after you have finished!
Incredible is an understatement with Whisper and the mere fact that Dani is proving herself with each book of the Sins of Seven series. This book was amazing, engulfing, mesmerizing. Simply put: I loved it! I was able to finish this book in a matter of a road trip.
“Life doesn’t afford everyone happy times. Some people’s lives are filled with dark and dreary moments.”
Gia has been through the ringer a time or two and her journey has been a hard one. Life has handed her unpleasant circumstances. Gia meets Elijah in her young adult life which sparks light to her darkness, but soon he leaves her to a devil incarnate. She luckily escapes and years later she finds her light again, but does he recognize her? Will he see her for who she is?
“Lust. sometimes it forces people to do some of the most heinous things. That’s why it’s named as one of the seven deadly sins. It wraps you in its warmth, taunts you with its promises.”
Elijah Draydon knows what it feels like to lose your true love. After losing his wife/submissive, his life has felt empty and he has not felt that connection with another. He has a kink like no other these days and it’s one that is intense. He used to feel a connection to a girl he once knew but he felt by leaving her he made the right choice. But what happens when fate sends your past to you, will you be able to recognize it? And if so, will she succumb to your whims?
“I lean in and whisper. “Do you know why I like seeing your tears?” She shakes her head no. “Because I like making pretty toys cry. I enjoy breaking them.”
In Whisper there are so many twists, turns, and curves. I loved how Dani incorporates the past within the text so we are caught up with how the past unfolded for Eli and Gia. Both are broken and are wanting to mend their hearts and desires. Again, just like in Kneel; Dani touches on some ‘touchy’ topics and Whisper ignites it to another degree, but yet again her writing skills are impeccable, which makes these subjects easy to overcome and a delight to embrace.
Woman! How could you end this book the way you did!? My mind & soul need more of Elijah and Gia. At least an epilogue or something. I only wish there were more chapters at the end, I felt it was cut short. I am in love with this series and as I had stated in my review of Kneel, these books will be better and better has each new book is released. Dani knows her darkness, the way she incorporates the filthy mindset of these dominant men are intriguing and addicting. As a reviewer, it makes me want more!
5+ stars!!! After Kneel (Book 1 of the Sins of Seven Series), I knew I wanted more! I loved Eli and Gia – they were both two shattered halves of a whole, both broken and struggling with darkness in their pasts. The pain they both endured might not have been from the same cause, but it created two empty shells that needed to be filled. Whisper was so exquisitely enthralling. It was sexy and dirty, and it commanded my attention from the first page.
My heart was hurting as their past pains were revealed. I loved watching how they gradually found solace as they learned how to breathe again. Their chemistry was off the charts, and I loved the way they built up trust with each other and helped overcome the memories that bound them. Their story was so emotionally charged but so deeply riveting. I absolutely loved it and I’m looking forward to more Sins stories!
The book might be called Whisper, but Eli and Gia’s story will scream loudly in your head.
To begin with, this book is not for everyone. The story is layered with lies, lust, love, and soul crushing emotion that will hit you in all the feels. There is violence and scenes that may act as triggers to some.
Eli thought he created a wall around his heart, spending his nights playing with his toys to fill a void.
Gia, in her obsession of Eli, walked into something that irrevocably changed her.
This story is in all its essence a second chance romance. But it doesn’t follow the typical path. Both these characters walked their path of brokenness; and though they are still broken, they fitted their jagged pieces together to make something beautiful.
With Eli and Gia, Dani has again created a masterpiece. She has taken the sin of lust and has given us a wonderful story of tragedy and loss that bloomed like a rose into a story of love.
I’ve been dying to get my hands on WHISPER, the second book of Dani René’s Sins of Seven series, and, hell, this book had me feeling it all. It’s raw and dark and disturbing as much as it is heartwarming and freeing and healing.
Both Eli and Gia have a very troubled past, each for their own vastly different reasons. I was sobbing and tearing up reading Eli’s flashbacks – and almost retching, feeling the bile in my throat when reading about Gia’s past.
Eli, emotionally totally closed off, protecting himself from further heartbreak, and Gia, beautifully broken and yet so strong without even realizing it: These two are made for one another, and there is one person who realizes that far earlier than they both do, huge age gap be damned.
With lust, pain, violence and revenge this has to be one of Dani’s darkest books, if not the darkest. As usual, her characters are complex and multi-layered, the writing flowing effortlessly, the sex scenes, although dubious and not for the faint of heart, hot as hell and the kind I just cannot get enough of – yeah, I’m kinky like that – which is a good thing, because once Gia and Eli started, they’re going at it whenever they can.
Dark and depraved, carnal and unapologetic, and terrifyingly hot – a tortuous yet insanely erotic story about loss, love and lust. It’s shocking and decadent and has me still wanting more. The next book cannot come soon enough, and I really hope it will be Carrick’s or Oliver’s story we are getting next.
This book was amazing! Oh the feels!! I thought my heart was gonna jump right out of my chest! Every book of this Authors I read gets me so lost inside the pages… hot, steamy sex scenes, heart-wrenching twist.. love it all!
Did I tell you after I read Kneel that people should bow down to Dani Rene? I’m pretty sure I did.
This is exactly why! The story is hot, dark, and oh so delicious. Filled from beginning to end of all the things I was missing, I am in love with this series. Like legit, swooning. And the angst was there for this one too! I’m a sucker for angst.
This story is intense. I spent time crying because of what was happening, and it gave me a lot of feelz. The characters are well-written and really make me feel invested in what happens to them. I really enjoyed reading it and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I have read nearly all of Dani’s books and have my favourites, this book just blew them all out of the water!
I cannot express how much i loved this book, I found i was absolutely captivated to the story and time stood still reading it, especially the last half of the book, i was hooked.
No spoilers from me but this is a darker read than any other of Dani’s books and i love this side of her writing, i actually think she could go even further in to the dark but that is my taste.
The characters are likeable, the story line moving and the sex scenes are hot.
Dani is an amazing writer no matter which genre of book of hers you read, you won’t be disappointed.
Cannot wait for the next book
Dani Rene’s Sins of Seven series is back and if you thought you were prepared after experiencing the dark intensity of Nate and Eva in Kneel think again. Whisper cements for me that Dani is one the best in this genre and I am beyond honored to have a chance to read her work in advance. If you like dark, depraved and broken characters then pick this series up immediately.
“I’ve learned that words spat are meant to harm. When uttered, they’re meant to console. But when they’re whispered, that’s when they mean so much more. The emotion so profound it chokes you, and all you can manage is a whisper. Whether it’s passion, lust, agony, pain, or sorrow.”
Elijah Draydon keeps himself closed off and inside a cage of his own making. Held captive by his past and the guilt he feels, he lets his fear hold him prisoner. A broken heart doesn’t heal at least not as far as Elijah is concerned. He is empty inside and there hasn’t been anyone able to penetrate his guilt and fear. He has an intense kink that is unlike any other and when fate uses that kink to bring him someone from his past, someone he once felt a connection to, will he recognize his chance? And can she be what he needs?
“Life doesn’t afford everyone happy times. Some people’s lives are filled with dark and dreary moments.”
Gia has had a tough life. Faced with unpleasant circumstances she has held on to the light that was able to cut through her darkness when she was younger, Elijah. After facing the devil himself or close to anyway, Gia escapes and years later finds her light once more. But will he see her for who she is, or is she just another submissive in a long line of others?
“They may see me as weak for needing him, but it’s not weakness, it’s strength that allows me to follow my heart. It’s power that I have that binds me to him. We’re tethered and I’d have it no other way.”
Whoa! What an intense read. Elijah and Gia are two deeply broken people lost in the darkness of a world beyond their control. I LOVE how their dark desires and intense passion create between them an unbreakable connection. The kind that they had both been searching for for so long. The emotions present in these pages is unbelievable. From heartbreak to lust, from pain to love and everything in between. You get to experience their past that lead them to where they are, and the present where they find each other again.
“Lust. sometimes it forces people to do some of the most heinous things. That’s why it’s named as one of the seven deadly sins. It wraps you in its warmth, taunts you with its promises.”
Dani is a Queen, no scratch that she is a Goddess of dark romance. She just keeps bringing it. I know without a doubt that the next book she writes, in this series and any other, will be better than the last. I will forever be a fan and devour all her words. I am dying to get my hands on the next book in this series, I don’t want to wait until next year! That sounds overly dramatic and I don’t care, I want it now, gimme!! Please?
Ok, on a more serious note, if you like BDSM, or dark romance and haven’t read Dani yet, I recommend that you start this series ASAP. Whisper is a FIVE star read for this reviewer.
“Each of us is born with a box of matches inside us, but we can’t strike them all by ourselves.” LAURA ESQUIVEL
Eli… Man… He is a man who wants to play but never attaches any type of emotion in his play. The author right away makes the reader aware of what changed Eli. It is understandable but dettachment can be volatile. What enjoyment is there? Can anyone way to steer him another way? For his sake, I was hoping so.
Giana comes into the picture and everything she is experiencing I’m experiencing along with her. The sexual chemistry between Eli and Giana was off the charts… Hot… You might have to change your panties once. Maybe even twice.
The flashbacks in this story ate at me… I wanted to reach out and comfort Eli. Even a dominant knows pain. He wasn’t cope with what happened in the past. It seems like he kept trying to fill the void but it was a no go. Giana was in a bad situation and didn’t really know how to get out. Their past isn’t supposed to dictate their future but it is still playing a part in it.
One of my favorite quotes from book stated, “They may see me as weak for needing him, but it’s not weakness , it’s strength that allows me to follow my heart. It’s power that I have that binds me to him. We’re tethered and I’d have it no other way.” I loved that even Giana is broken… She knew what she wanted and fought for it . If Eli wanted to play a game, she would play because the ultimate prose is him.
When I started to read Whisper, it was hard to put down the kindle. But the last couple of chapters had me on edge, I stopped and started a little. Not because it wasn’t good but because it was so gripping. The sense of foreboding that I had finally came and I was like damn… I thought all the secrets, which Giana and Eli laid to bare, were all out in the open but there was still more.
The title made so much sense through this quote, “When uttered, they’re meant to console. But when they’re whispered, that’s when they mean so much more. I’ve learned that words spat are meant to harm. When uttered, they’re meant to console. But when they’re whispered, that’s when they mean so much more. The emotion so profound it chokes you, and all you can manage is a whisper. Whether it’s passion, lust, agony, pain, or sorrow.” The voice of another can be taken in so many ways. It can smooth like a lover or be lethal like a snake. Eli was able to bring desire to his lover but bring destruction on his enemies. It started his voice.
This book is five star material. There is no question. I need to learn about Oliver and Carrick. Carrick is a mystery, which has so many opened questions. Well done for now… Let me just say one final thing. I left reading the last page and said god damn. Then laughed.
Man. . . this is hard for me because as much as I wanted to hate this book I just couldn’t. These characters, so many emotions from these two. So much pain and just. . . The things this author brings to this story make it the perfect fit for this series of sins it freaking scary. The fact that this is someones story even if it is fiction is even scarier. It’s dark and so doggone dirty and good and steamy and agonizing it just tears you up. I hated it I loved but can’t find the words to convey the emotional drain from reading it. So darn dark and dirty there needs to be a special place in hell for the people who create these broken people by their actions and a special place for author’s that takes us there in their books.
Oh yeah. . . you will know exactly what I mean when you read it. And yet I can’t wait until the next book comes out to see what this author drums up next in this series full of standalone reads that are not for the faint of heart.
Oh good lord, Dani has done it again! I am so in love with this series! If you like dark, bdsm romance then this is for you! Make sure you read Kneel first and meet Nate, then pick this one to get to know Elijah. These men will melt your kindles and wet your undies! So worth reading!
I really enjoyed reading Eli and Gia’s story, and thought it was even better than Kneel. They are both flawed characters with a lot of pain and darkness in their past and it was wonderful to see how their broken parts fitted together. This is a sort of second chance book, although is not typical of that genre.
There was one part of the plot I was going to criticise as unlikely, but it was addressed and resolved in a very believable way. I loved that twist by the author. Whilst there is some BDSM and several steamy sex scenes but this is felt much more a story of two lost souls finding and healing each other. The scenes also felt very much like people connecting on a deeper level, rather than just being salacious or titillating.
I found the story easy to read and whilst the time line wasn’t totally clear, it wasn’t confusing either. The plot had some good twists, whilst you could expect one of them to happen the details of it and the outcomes were still unpredictable.
I really liked the ending, although I would have liked the content of the last few pages to have been expanded a little. I feel that the author was going for a very different type of ending and in many ways it worked, but for me it was just a little abrupt. I would have liked a little insight into Gia’s thought process that led to her decision, although I appreciate that perhaps her simple statement was meant to convey everything.
