I’d made promises I had no right to keep.I’d crossed lines I shouldn’t have. And I didn’t care one bit.Coming back to my hometown to teach wasn’t meant to be like this. Falling head over heels for the forbidden girl shouldn’t have been on the cards. But fate had other ideas.Aria was the one shining star in an otherwise dark night. She called to me like nothing else ever had, and I was hopeless to … else ever had, and I was hopeless to stop it.
Until we got caught.
The game was over; our secret destroyed. And there was only one thing I could do about it.
Lies came easy when I was shielding the people I loved most. Destroying myself in the process didn’t matter as long as she was safe.
But now the lines had been redrawn. Boundaries marked permanently. I’d always protect Aria—even if it was from herself.
Defying fate was simple, but I was never one to take the easy way out.
One look.
One touch.
One kiss.
That was all it would take to walk the rocky path of obeying fate.
Obey Fate is book two in the Fated Duet. The epic conclusion to the two-part, heart-felt, emotional, gripping journey of forbidden love.

I only have one word for Obey Fate – perfect!
Picking up from the exact spot Defy Fate left us in.
Aria and Cade are in a bind, after being caught in a compromising position by someone who could ruin both of their lives.
Aria takes the blame all on her own and decides to walk away from Cade to protect him. Losing the only person who helps keep her grounded, Aria finds she needs another way to release and focuses on her running – will that be enough for her?
Cade has no choice but to watch Aria walk away, not to protect himself but to protect her. He knows the only way to fully protect her is to be with her, but that’s not possible with Willow blackmailing him and wanting to know his every move – can he find a way to turn the tables?
I absolutely loved Obey Fate. The emotions it pulled from me were almost too much. The secrets being kept, blackmail, lies and a love like no other make this an all consuming, emotional, forbidden love story, telling what can happen when you have the love of everyone around you – you just have to believe that you deserve it.
Abigail Davies has done a phenomenal job with the Fated Duet – dealing with tough subjects, as well as writing an amazing story. It’s a forbidden love story that has consumed me from the first pages.
I look forward to see what’s next from this author.
This duet is so much more than a forbidden romance, this book is all consuming, this book out does everything Davies has ever written. Aria and Cade are ALL THE FEELS! EVERY.SINGLE.ONE.
I couldn’t get enough of this story! I didn’t put it down the entire day! I needed to know how their story ended and let’s just say that you’ll want to read this book again as soon as you finish.
I really don’t want to go into any more detail. It’s one of my favorite duets of the year.
Highly recommended!
Top favs of 2019
*I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. *
Obey Fate is the fantastic, if emotional, conclusion of the Fated Duet. Aria and Cade have gone through so much heartache and turmoil to get to where they‘re meant to be; together. The storyline is brilliant albeit a little hard to read in places, but the author dealt with Aria’s mental illness very sensitively. I highly recommend the Easton Family Saga Series. You won’t be disappointed!
What an emotional roller coaster!! It had some frustrating moments where i actually wanted to pummel a character!! Mental disorders are difficult to deal with, but love prevailed and all was well! Wonderful story!
Five shine stars for Aria and Cade !!!
Abigail Davis did a great job with this duet !
“Obey Fate” is more than a forbidden romance book.
This book is about second chances, mental disorders and much more…
Aria and Cade’s relationship was hard.
It had so many difficulties, but like in every true love, they fought for their love even when was seemed impossible.
And after all, they got their happily ever after.
Aria went through a difficult period through both books.
It was difficult to read some chapters because no one should go through what she was going through, especially not someone so young.
But, she is the fighter and she became a better person, thanks to Cade and his unconditional love for her.
Cade indicated that his love for Aria was not some fleeting feeling that would disappear after a few days.
He began to love her even more after learning about her past and what she struggled with.
I was so happy that they got their happily ever after because if someone deserves to be happy, then it’s them!
If you’re looking forbidden romance book with a lot of emotion part in it, then you MUST read this book!
P.S. I can’t wait for Belle and Ford’s story !!!
What a spectacular 2nd par of this duet. What an emotional rollercoaster we have been on.. Picking up from where Defy Fate left off we see Cade battling to stop everything coming out whilst trying to distance himself from Aria. We see a very Aria broken in a way we find out exactly what happened with her dad and what she went through. We also see her snap, secrets come out, a lot of emotions come into play, Anger, tears, a broken heart and that was just me. The way the author dealt with the whole sensitive situation was well executed. I stayed up till 2am reading this book as I couldn’t put it down and I was a sobbing snotty mess by the end of it. This is by far one of the easiest 5 star reads I have given and I would highly recommend this duet as well as the previous one.
This was such a good story ! This book started where the first one left off and you’ll have to read it to find out what happens but I will say that this romance touched on some realistic subjects that happen in every day life and I felt all the emotions that Aria was going through my heart ached for her . Abigail Davies has a way of telling a story and making you feel all the emotions that the characters are going through. This was a emotional and heartbreaking journey of forbidden love with plenty of drama and angst to keep you captured in this taboo forbidden love romance story. Loved that we got to see how Lola and Brody are and their little family . Definitely can’t wait too read more by this amazing author .
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book
Aria is in high school just trying to get to graduation. Family friend Cade is working at school and her coach for track. They are always around each other so nobody notices when things change. When they are found in a compromising position in a classroom, what will they do? Aria is holding in her emotions but finds a release from the pain. Her family doesn’t know but one day the pain gets too much, will she be okay? How will family react? Can Aria and Cade ever be together for real?
Ugh I have been WAITING for this story. Book one is definitely a favorite read this year.
This is the continuation of Aria and Cade’s story. We enter right back into all the angst where we left off. OMG still feeling all the emotions. I loved so many things about this story and world. Experience all the beloved characters from previous books and wondering who gets a book next, kept the intrigue high.
So for full disclosure there were a few things gave me pause. I wanted Cade to act like the grown up he is and not play childish games. The age difference of Aria and Cade made me question what he was doing. I still love him but he fell from grace a little bit for me in this book. It didn’t make sense how he worked hard to support Aria but then did something the polar opposite.
As much as Cade made book one, Aria really makes book two. I struggled with a need for her to get a clear resolution of things. The injustice of her childhood and how it effects who she is today makes me want to cry. I wanted her to run away from all who were hurting her and go find herself. Probably not the most logical response since she was the one who hurt herself the most.
This story offers answers and understanding but I felt it was too little. Ugh I wanted greater detail. I didn’t feel that Aria’s mom, who is not a bad person, never atoned or REALLY apologized for her HUGE MISSTEPS. It seemed rushed at the end. Read the story and see if you agree.
How this story explores mental health is a brave undertaking. What a weighty topic that has so many roads to take. Villianizing those who already struggle is never ok with me.
So yeah. This book felt like so much more than a love story though I enjoyed those elements as well.
Happy Reading Everyone!
I loved Aria and Cade. Their love story was beautiful, hard at times, intense and heartbreaking.
This was so much more than a love story. It was a girl who had been through childhood trauma who had dealt with it on her own for far too long. It was seeing her acknowledge she needed help and working on overcoming all of those hurdles to have a happy life.
This is without a doubt a story that will stay with me for a long time.
Second part of this fated duet and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
I’ve loved every minute following the lives of each of the characters that are highlighted in each duet.
Cade and Aria have a forbidden romance but one you cannot help rooting for.
The book touches on hard reading topics in such a way that it pulls you in and you feel like you are right there, living the moments with the characters. I was left heartbroken and emotional one minute then happy and loved up the next.
I cannot get enough of these groups of characters and i really hope this isn’t the last we see of any of them.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
Abigail Davies has surpassed herself with this duo of book’s.
Aria is a really complex character, who has a few issues. One of which is that she is in love with her teacher Cade, with whom she has known since she was a young girl.
The end of the first book was where they were caught kissing in the classroom as it is illegal and Cade could go to prison this is quite a serious situation for them to be in.
This book is amazballs and has pulled me and my poor emotions in all directions while reading it, the writing is that good that you get so lost in it that all of the emotions in the book become yours.
Abigail Davies is an amazing author and one that I would absolutely recommend reading.
Especially this duo of book’s
Dude…. what a ride!
Right from the beginning the angst was heavy and the drama was high.
Aria’s struggle is real. I felt it. I get it. I get her.
I wanted to throw a few punches on my journey through this story- some of the characters need a good kick in the nads or other relevant anatomical places for the huge burden Aria carried on her shoulders. Like I said, it was heavy.
But I need to give props to Abigail Davies for tackling a difficult subject in such a ‘real’ and ‘honest’ way.
Underneath all of that was a true love story. One fought with challenges, hidden struggles and obvious villains. It made for a enthralling read.
My heart was racing the entire time I was reading Aria and Cade’s story, and I do mean their entire story. The first book in this duet have me diving in for a re-read fucking ASAP, so I just knew that the second book was going to be heart stopping. And fuck I was right. Davies brought these two characters to life to torture the reader. The gambit of emotions that the reader goes thru I proof of this torture. You know from the first book that these two are fighting a loosing battle when it comes to their attraction, no matter what they do they couldn’t Defy Fate.
Now like I said this is the second book in the Dates Duet, so reading the first book is a must. So if you haven’t done that, get to reading. This is a duet Thea has it all:
1. Angst to the 10th degree
2. Forbidden romance
3. Teacher/student love affair
4. Age gape
5. Gut wrenching story
6. Characters that will own a piece of your soul
So you can’t go wrong with diving in.
The second book totally continued the rollercoaster ride. There wasn’t a moment that my heart wasn’t racing. And even when I went back in for a re-read my heart still raced. The second part is going to stay with me just as the first part did. There was no way to prepare myself for everywhere that Aria and Cade’s journey takes you. The only thing you can do is hold on for dear life and hope you don’t fucking fall off. The emotions from these two characters is so raw and true to life that they will grab onto your soul. Yes they are that strong of characters.
I to take a few days to gather my thoughts before I could sit down and put down into words how much I fucking loved this book. Hell this duet is at the top of my favorite reads this year. And if this is just a taste of the Eastern family, I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest.
5 Cranky Stars
Obey Fate had me leaning into the Kindle with each sentence. I was mentally cheering Aria on in my head. Like a mama I wanted to see her beat this thing. I had high hopes for her and Cade despite their precarious position. Remember Obey Fate picks up right after Defy Fate ended. So please just do yourself a favor and read this duet. Get to know Aria and Cade and fall in love with them.
Aria and Cade have found themselves in a situation they can’t win so they part ways even though their hearts are begging to stay. Aria is mentally ill and it’s only becoming worst. She’s spiraling while trying to maintain a happy face. She knows she can’t turn to Cade because of Willow holding their secret over their head. She is just adrift and lonely and her past is catching up. Cade loves Aria and hates that he is being blackmailed by Willow. He tries so hard to keep Aria at a distance, but he knows how fragile her mental state is and when she shows up at his door in a manic high, he knows he has to step in and consequences be damned. Together they navigate a road to wellness yet while keeping a secret it’s a dangerous game, but love makes you do crazy things.
Woo I can’t say too much about this book in a review So much of the plot can be told in a few sentences yet not. You know what I mean? Mental illness is a harsh thing to deal with and Aria is suffering. She is carrying a mental image of her childhood that no one should have to witness and without therapy. Mistake number one. Her mother is one of those if we don’t talk about it then it must have never happened people. She drove me batty she was so self-absorbed It seemed her mental state wasn’t that great as well. Cade dealt with a lot, but he was steadfast in what he believed. He was the perfect book boyfriend and I want to claim him just like so many others will. Willow oh em gee I wish her and Jasmine would take a long walk off a short pier in concrete shoes. They were just nasty and mean. I jumped on this book as soon as it landed on my kindle and I practically read it in a day. I was just that invested and you know that’s when you have a good book in your hands. You really need to read this duet but be prepared because it does deal with some sensitive topics and if you are kind of squeamish like me take my warning but still just give it a try. Obey Fate gave us the ending that filled us up with hope. Hope that with the right people in your corner you have a long journey ahead and a lot of life to live.
Well Abigail broke my heart and put it back
Together all at the same time.
This book is the second book to defy fate.
It’s not a standard alone.
Its beautifully written.
Case and aria are still battling to be together.
Aria as a lot of demons that she is fighting.
She is one strong young woman.
Cade is still a teacher at her school.
He is there for aria when she needs him most.
Loved everything about this duet
Its Abigail’s best yet.
I highly recommend this book.
So you know where we left off in Defy Fate, right? If not, you should read that book first. You really need to. Okay, so if you know where we left off, get ready for some serious anger at everything. The situation, the careless actions that led us here, the opportunistic witch waiting to ruin lives. All of that. But also get ready for heart-wrenching twists and problems. I can honestly say that I was surprised by what befell Aria, even with knowing her history. And Cade? Oh, how that man put it all on the line to save the person he loves most in the world. Last, if you’ve wanted to slap Jan at least once in this duet (especially in this half of it), you are my people.
What starts out as something that can’t possibly have a future becomes such a beautiful thing that you can’t help but love all of the characters in this world (except Jan and the witch; I still want to slap them, even if Jan is better understood in the end). I was thoroughly impressed and rocked by Cade and Aria and can’t wait to see what comes next from this author.
