A lady out for vengeance collides with the one man that can stand in her way.The lady bent on vengeance.Lady Canton has a list. A list of men she is ruining, one by one. The work is satisfying—as each and every one of the despicable men deserves it—and if Livia has to bend the rules of propriety for success—so be it. What she doesn’t anticipate is a past love barging into her life, determined to … into her life, determined to stop her.
The man that will stand in her way.
Lady Canton threw him over years ago to marry a lecherous old fool for his title, so the last thing Lord Reggard wants is to entangle himself with her again. But when Livia threatens to ruin one of his best friends, Tieran is forced to take matters into his own hands to stop her.
A second chance at first love.
Livia never stopped loving him, and Tieran is intent on using that fact to his advantage. Never mind the callousness of his actions—his loyalty to Livia died years ago and he has no desire to revisit the past with her. Yet the past may be the one thing Tieran cannot escape, and he may very well discover he never stopped loving her as well.
Note: The books in the Lords of Action series by K.J. Jackson are each stand-alone stories and can be read individually in any order. These historical romances are set in the Regency and Victorian eras, and do not shy away from scenes with steamy heat, occasional naughty language, and moments that might possibly make you squirm.

Great story… different twist on things…. not just another HEA. Although the story ends as HEA, there are many twists and turns before they get there.
Loved this story!
I loved this story. The reader is kept in the dark for a long time, making you ponder the why’s of how things became so complicated, and how did Liv and Tieran end up apart? After all it seemed obvious from the start they were meant to be together. This story is delightfully layered. Uncovering each new part of the puzzle reveals more about both Liv and Tieran and their situation. I love the depth of emotion in the book. I could feel everything. This is a wonderful story.
It was one of the first books I read, I can’t remember it well accept that I did enjoy it.
Oath by K.J. Jackson is a phenomenal historical romance. Ms. Jackson has given readers a delightful, well-written book populated with an incredible cast of characters. Tieran is the Earl of Reggard and leaves Liv to go off to war. He returns from war to find Liv had married an old man. When they meet again years later, Liv is involved in something that makes her look like a merry widow. Liv and Tieran’s story is packed with drama, humor, melt your e-reader sex, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading Oath and look forward to my next book by K.J. Jackson. Oath is book 3 of the Lords of Action Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I enjoyed that this story was a little different than others because she is trying to get revenge on terrible men. Sometimes their relationship got frustrating and I don’t care for the sec scenes, but it was still a good book.
I enjoyed this book and the following books in the series. Very good and entertaining.
Exceptional book. A great twist at the end. A must read
Liv and Tieran are good characters, Liv should have told him why she wanted revenge, it got to be kind of ridiculous. Or, he should have guessed what she was trying to revenge. The story was entertaining though, liked the characters and their relationship was interesting, learning their past and how they each learned about each others history while apart was interesting.
Great characters, I really fell in love with them. I loved the book and the storyline.
Strong female character.
The last book (the best I think) in this series is about Tieran, Lord Regard, a widower who lost his wife in childbirth. Along with his two closet friends (heroes in the first two books), they are on a mission – to save innocents from being auctioned at a brothel – and helping them to begin life again. Fate brings Tieran’s first love back into his life – Livia, Lady Canton, a widow. Years ago, they fell in love but Tieran left to fight in the war with the promise of marriage upon his return. The brutal horror of war changed Tieran who kept his grip on sanity by his love for Liv. But when he returns and seeks her out, her parents inform him she has recently married Lord Canton, an elderly peer. Now years later, Tieran does not see the young girl he left – but a woman whose focus is destroying men on a list. It is a story of redemption, second chances, accepting how life’s adversities can change people in way yet stay true to their heart. Circumstances unfold and little by little the whole truth is revealed – especially how revenge, retaliation and retribution can poison and consume your soul. It is a wonderful story of true love that never died, faith and devotion. It highlights the evil man is capable of and also the path the good take to right wrongs. A romance of two wounded souls destiny brought together to win life’s most precious gift – Love!
Depicted in the Victorian age, Livia is only 16 and too young for marriage. Her temperament too rash with no forethought to her actions. That’s where Tieran, the 13th Earl of Reggard comes into play.
This is the first book of K.J. Jackson’s I’ve read so had no preconceived ideas as to what to expect. That being said, this is a quick, easy read with predicable characters. I enjoyed the story line with it’s twist and turns. A second chance at love to pass the time.
Not my favorite book, but worth the read.
Didn’t much care for the revenge idea,
excellent read. Great story crafting.
Always nice to read about strong women and the men who love them
This was not your typical regency romance. A lot of twists and turns. Not what you’d expect. You won’t want to put it down.
Mrs Jackson is a wonderful author. Her books are so exciting you will stay up all night to finish. The books will drawl you in with the characters she writes, the action and the love between each other. Please, Read you will be happy you did.
I will eventually get hold of the rest of the books.
