“One of the best thrillers I have read this year. The plot is intelligent and will keep you hooked from the beginning. The author did a superb job creating a set of characters who are fully developed and very much enjoyable. I can hardly wait for the sequel.”–Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (re Any Means Necessary)OATH OF OFFICE is book #2 in the bestselling Luke Stone series, which … series, which begins with ANY MEANS NECESSARY (book #1), a free download!
A biological agent is stolen from a biocontainment lab. Weaponized, it could kill millions, and a desperate national hunt ensues to catch the terrorists before it is too late. Luke Stone, head of an elite FBI department, with his own family still in jeopardy, has vowed to walk away—but when the new President, barely sworn in, calls him, he can’t turn his back on her.
Shocking devastation follows, winding its way all the way to the President, who finds her own family in jeopardy. Her strength tested, as she steps into her new role, she surprises even her closest advisors. Rival presidential staff want Luke out of the picture, and with his team in danger, and left to his own resources, it becomes personal. But Luke Stone never gives up until he, or the terrorists, are dead.
Luke realizes quickly that the terrorist’s final target is even more high value—and more terrifying—than even he could imagine. Yet with only a few days before doomsday, it’s unlikely that even he can stop what’s already in motion.
A political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings, unexpected twists and heart-pounding suspense, OATH OF OFFICE is book #2 in the Luke Stone series, an explosive new series that will leave you turning pages late into the night.

at first was leary but it turned around quickly
This book really makes you think about what could happen under the wrong circumstances and shows a scenario that is pretty scary to think about. Great writing.
Threats to America from without and within that are plausible, ergo scary!
Jack Mars has done it again! The Luke Stone series delivers every time—-a hair-raising, terrorist tale of international intrigue and high stakes kidnapping for an inexperienced President to tackle right after the decapitation of the highest echelons of the government! No problem, right? Well, when you have Super operative Luke Stone, the Jack Bauer- type hero who can and will do anything to save the day, inexperience has found an adequate answer! Stone, who has his own problems at home, finds a way to save his country from sliding into anarchy. But, the way he does it, wow! A great book in a great series that will keep you awake reading and wondering, what if it really happens? Will we have a patriot like Stone to do what must be done at great personal risk?
Very much enjoyed this book.
Good summer read. Read in two days.
Great read. Lives up to Luke Stone series.
Luke stone a human dynamo is an unforgettable character
Part of the Luke Stone books. Even though each story follows the same format (world crisis, only Luke & his team can save the day) they are entertaining. Just when I think I know what will happen the author throws you a curve ball. Its nice how he involves real workd leaders/problems and resolves the situation in an original format.
Suffice it to say, Jack Mars has me as a fan as I continue to devour the series
A terrorist plot that is very scary for all.
Kinda biased, I like the series…
good read
Great read, just like the rest of the series. I highly recommend it.
This book was an awesome read. Loved the author and their way with words!
Good story line with believable characters. Good mix of story development sequences and action sequences.
good storytelling and page turning thrills. excellent political and terrorist thriller.
Some leaps of faith but real interesting
I can always count on Jack Mars to draw me into Luke Stone’s adventures and keep me awake all night to find out the ending. I have to sympathize with Stone, who keeps trying to finish serving his country and get some peace, but then is dragged back in to save the nation one more time–possibly to the detriment of his personal life. There’s just enough technical material to make each book believable without dragging the story down. Mars is an excellent storyteller and craftsman of characters, and the Luke Stone novels are definitely page turners.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a must read after Any Means Necessary. I’ll be reading the rest of this series. Good job.
Enjoyed this so much, told my husband to download to read and I got Books 1 & 3 to continue the fun.
