Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. With three brothers and two sisters, she’s never without someone to hang out with–or fight with. And she knows they’ll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.Determined to discover exactly what happened, Izzy’s investigation sends her … her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll–including someone from her own family. With her dead partner’s handsome homicide detective brother Ryan shadowing her every move, Izzy’s head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she’s had a secret crush on for years won’t leave her side?
With her signature fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat action, Lynette Eason invites readers into a captivating new series where justice is a family affair.

I am a huge Lynette Eason fan and I loved this first book in her Blue Justice series. I love that this series features a family involved in law enforcement as I am a big police procedural reader. Filled with action, suspense, and a great faith thread, this book is one you will have a hard time putting down!
If you like warm fuzzy romance stories this book is sure not for you, with nonstop action from the beginning to the end, and don’t get too comfortable in your shoes, you won’t see who wants to wear them.
The author starts this book with the murder of fellow officer Isabella St. John’s partner, and lifelong family friend, Kevin. From there the violence goes downhill, and why, we soon find out, or maybe it takes to the very end to learn, and most you won’t see coming.
So, it is the rival gangs, an old “boyfriend”, a friend, the list goes on and on, maybe your brother, or mother. There has to be a reason, and when we find out, just wow!
Once you start this one, you will have to get to the end to learn the answers, and I for one love the epilogue, better allow additional time!
I received this book through the Revell Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
The first book in an explosive series! You won’t be able to put it down. Lynette Eason is a master at fast-paced, action-packed inspirational suspense. Highly recommend.
I loved this clean fast paced suspense novel! I was hooked from the first page and I couldn’t put it down!
I am not a mystery/suspense reader, but Lynnette Eason could easily convert me.
Oath Of Honor by Lynette Eason is a thrilling contemporary Christian suspense which I just could not put down. It is the first book in the Blue Justice series – and thankfully I have the subsequent books in the series sitting in a pile by my bed, just waiting to be read.
The plotline is intricate and well executed. I read with heart racing and teeth clenched as the tension rose. Lynette Eason certainly knows how to paint the scenes with her words as the action played out in my head.
There is a community and family atmosphere – the law enforcement agency functions as a family, protecting its own and serving the community. There is love and loyalty. When suspicion falls on one of its own, there is the belief that there must be more at stake than the surface appearance suggests.
We have truth and lies, plots and intrigue, gangs and goodies – Oath Of Honor is a fantastic start to a new series.
Loss hurts. When loss is built upon pain it is easy to question God’s presence. “God, I hope You’re here. Somewhere. Because I sure don’t see You.” Pain and loss may temporarily blind us to seeing God at work. It is now that we need to build on and rely on our firm foundations and knowledge that God is good and God is love. “God, I know You’re sovereign, You can bring good from evil, but sometimes it’s hard to remember that.” In our darkest of times, we need to cling to God and trust Him.
Lynette Eason is a new author to me. She has just been added to my ever growing list of favourite authors. I recommend picking up Oath Of Honor today. It’s fabulous. It would make a marvellous television or Netflix series – any producers please take note.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.
All her series are great!!!
This was my first Lynette Eason book, but it certainly won’t be my last!
An action-packed mystery with great characters, a romantic subplot, and a healthy dose of suspense hooked me all the way. Can’t wait to read more about the families introduced in this series.
5 stars for Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason. This is book one in the Blue Justice series. This is the first book I have read from this author, but it will not be the last. I am a big fan of romantic suspense and this book hit the spot. Isabelle is a police office and comes from a whole law enforcement family. Isabelle’s partner Will is killed in action. She has known Will her whole life. Will’s brother Ryan who is a detective is on the case. He wants to know who killed his brother. There is so much more going on than just the murder of Will. What will happen when Isabelle’s past plays a part in all of it. I loved this book and can not wait to read more.
Lynette Eason is widely popular romantic suspense author, who I have read every single one of her books and novellas. She knows what the fans of romantic suspense want. Non-stop action with a hint of romance. She is heavier on the suspense versus the romance, so if you prefer more romance than suspense or prefer fifty-fifty than she might not be the author for you. As for me, that is what I like. I think suspense should be the majority of the focus, than the romance buds along the way.
The plot for her opening book Oath of Honor to her Blue Justice series is wild. From the first chapter where we meet Isabelle as she mingles with her wild and huge family, I was engrossed in this active family. From there the mystery takes off, throwing me for a loop in every chapter. Eason is a master at ending chapters with cliff-hangers, so she allows the reader, me included, to stay up way too late, trying to finish one more chapter, but then the next thing I know, I have finished the book. Oath of Honor is no exception. I finished the book in a little over one day, and loved it.
Isabelle is a police officer with a huge family. We meet her parents and all her siblings. They’re a loving family who supports each other. Isabelle fights for the right for justice for a death of a friend, and the rest of the story centers around finding that killer. Enters Ryan. Her best friend’s brother and the guy she had a crush on for a long time. With the troubles arising, Ryan and Isabelle try to deny the feelings they have for each other, but like I mentioned earlier, most of the story focuses on putting together the pieces to find the murderer and bring him to justice. Not the romance.
Overall, Oath of Honor is a great introduction to a new series by Lynette Eason. With plenty of nail-biting, page-flipping moments and characters who stand out with their big families, Oath of Honor is another book for my Eason keeper shelf. I believe fans of Carrie Stuart Parks, DiAnn Mills, and Dani Pettrey will enjoy this book.
I received a complimentary copy of Oath of Honor by Lynette Eason from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.
This was my first book by Lynette Eason, but it definitely won’t be my last! Oath of Honor is the first book in her new Blue Justice series and tells the story of the St. John family. It is a thrilling romantic suspense novel that kept me guessing the whole time. I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next!
Isabelle St. John’s partner Kevin Marshall is murdered while they are on a stakeout, and Kevin’s detective brother Ryan joins her on the search for answers to his brother’s death. Their search for answers leads them both into danger and no one is safe, including many people they are close to, and Izzy and Ryan don’t know who they can trust. There is also a chance for romance as Izzy and Ryan realize their feelings for each other may led to more than friendship.
The book reminded a lot of the TV show Blue Bloods, which is one of my favorite shows. The St. John family is large family whose members almost all have careers in law enforcement. I love the family dynamic between the six St. John siblings and their parents (including their chief of police mother) and how they still get together for family dinners despite their busy schedules. I know readers will fall in love with the St. John family just like I did. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I was so impressed with this novel! The author did a great job of making me feel as if I was right there with these characters as they faced off against incredible odds.
The heartache that Izzy and Ryan both had to live through as the story began really set the pace for the heart of this book. Both of these characters had to work through the hurt that they were feeling, while trying to work their way through a maze of information to determine who was behind the murder of Izzy’s partner and best friend, who also happened to be Ryan’s brother.
This book has it all: intense emotion, lots of danger and suspense, and a gentle romance between two characters who I couldn’t help but love.
Great start to a new series. It is about a family that most serve in a law enforcement. This first book starts out with a punch and the action continues from there.
An outstanding sequel to Oath of Honor (Blue Justice, #1, read it and loved it!) and what I hope turns out to be a continuation of this amazing series about this strong law enforcement family. This book is Chloe St. John’s story and she finds herself attracted to U.S. Marshall Blake MacCallum. Blake’s daughter, Rachel, is missing and he has been told to kill the judge that he is protecting if he wants to see his daughter again. Chloe is a K-9 officer along with her canine partner Hank and while working an accident scene, it turns in to a human trafficking situation. Ms. Eason will weave these two intense storylines as Chloe’s case will overlap with Blake’s. She and Blake must both concentrate on bringing Rachel home alive as well as the other young girls. This is a heart wrenching story due to the human trafficking that is all too real a threat to our young people everywhere. I love the strong Christian and moral code that runs through every book that Ms. Eason writes. Her characters are so genuine and you cheer for them as they do what is right and honorable. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
I loved this book and the characters. I am waiting for the next book to come out and will definitely be reading it. Talented writer. Suspense and romance and I really like her writing style.
I loved this book’s storyline. Some parts of this story was sad . Some parts of this story was gruesome. I loved the Christian theme in this story. I loved the action in this story. I loved Izzy’s character. I loved Izzy’s strength in this story. I loved Izzy’s toughness in this story. I loved Ryan’s character. My heart broke for Ryan. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Eason.
A series rivaling the O’Malley’s. Yes, this book rivals my until now all time favorite suspense series. With the family bond, the suspense, the loss and healing in this book. I do have to say I don’t recommend this for anyone under 16 and is probably better for 17/18 or older. I hated the start of this book, HATED it! But sadly it was necessary for the plot as much as I hated it.
Warning, there is violence, several shoot outs, mentions of insanity, kidnapping, talk of murder, murder, attempted murder, and a character is killed.
Otherwise, ironically this is a wonderful novel that I love. I don’t particularly like that Isabelle was a police officer since I don’t agree with women being law enforcement… Don’t chew me out for it, I don’t care if it’s unfeminine of me, I prefer to hold to my beliefs then give into the universal opinions that . . . Oh, forget that. I just have to say that this gets four stars since I didn’t agree with everything but enjoyed this special suspense book from Lynette Eason, who happens to be a fantastic suspense author. I am so eager and am looking forward to reading the next book!
From the moment I opened the book to the moment I closed it, I was hooked. I remember thinking it can’t get any better than this and it did!
The book starts out when officer Izzy St. John’s partner and close friend Kevin is murdered in front of her, from there Izzy works closely with Ryan Marshall, Kevin’s older brother – who also happens to be the man she’s liked for years – to uncover the mystery surrounding Kevin’s death. Add in her twin brother who is mysteriously involved in the night Kevin was murdered you have an action packed and suspense filled book that will keep you turning the page until there’s none left.
I was so invested in Ryan & Izzy’s story from the moment I met them, which doesn’t happen often when I’m reading. It takes a certain type of character for me to make such a strong connection with, let alone it happening with two characters.
The connection I felt with these two characters is why it made the book all the more special to me. I loved every minute I spent reading this book and getting to know the St. John’s & Marshall’s.
When an author can write characters I can relate to in such a strong way I never let go and Lynette Eason is one of those authors. She has a way of making her characters relatable by putting them in heavy situations where they might not be the most comfortable and are pushed outside their comfort zones. That’s where you begin to see their true personality and how they react in certain situations. You begin to understand and relate to certain characters based on those reactions.
I also have to applaud Lynette for making the police aspect of the book very realistic and believable. I feel like it added another level of suspense, because of how realistic it felt.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the Blue Justice series and finding out what’s in store for the St. John family.
*I purchased my own copy of this book. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.*
I have read other books by this author and really enjoyed them however this time I feel a little cheated. I needed to know more about the characters and not be told about them. I needed the story to be deeper and more revealing. I needed the characters (especially Lizzy) to be more believable. However it was a good read but could have been so much better. This read more like a beach read that doesn’t go too deep or give too much about the characters. I realize I could be out of line and might need to read more of the authors books in hope of understanding the characters better but that shouldn’t be the case. While there are many things to enjoy about the story there are as many things that take away from it. I plan on continuing the series and hope that they are a better representation of this author and her skills.
Sizzling tension, crackling action, twists and surprises at every turn.
This book, while phenomenal, fell flat in places for this reader. The storyline was superb, but it did not measure up to my last read by Ms. Eason.
Even so, I could not put it down, kept turning page after page. The story and characters sank their hooks in deep, and did not let go. The plot gets deeper and deeper, thicker and thicker, one murder following another. And a twist at the end that I did not see coming.
Izzy’s drive to see justice—at any cost—teetered on careless at times, but her determination was nothing but admirable. Ryan’s determination equaled Izzy’s, even if he had to be “hands off” in the investigation. Together they made a good team, each complementing the other.
Ms. Eason tops off the tension and action, weaving in threads of romance—which served to bring more tension. Other than the few dry bits, this story is a gripping and compelling read.
