Oath of a Oath of a Warrior by Mary Morgan is #2 in her amazing Scottish Historical Fantasy Romance, “Legends of the Fenian Warriors”. I feel it can be read as a stand alone. Well crafted with great world building. The characters are engaging and charming, they will capture your heart. The storyline is unpredictable, intriguing and captivating. I loved Rory MacGregor’s, a Fenian warrior, who has traveled the earth for thousands of years. He guards the realm between mortal and Fae. One mistake forces him on a journey to fix a broken time-line. Erina MacIntyre is a mortal known for her healing herbs, she is also called a “witch” by many, and who may just bring this legendary warrior to his knees. Ms. Morgan manages to weave a bit of magic, secrets, sacrifices, history, fate, tortured heroes, and time-travel into a mesmerizing Scottish Fantasy romance. A page turner from the first chapter to the last and lingers long into the night. Highly recommended for fans of historical Scottish Romance, fantasy, magic, fate, wonderful characters and a strong storyline. I look forward to book 3 in this amazing series. “I voluntarily received a complimentary copy, however, these are my honest opinions. I was in no way required nor compensated to write a review.”

The wait for Rory MacGregor’s story was certainly well worth it because this book was absolutely spellbinding! It had me captivated every minute of it. My heart went out to Rory right from the beginning and I wanted to reach in and enfold him in my arms and tell him not to give up and that it would all work out. This was such an emotional story. Erina MacIntyre stole his heart however, she being human and him a Fenian Warrior, it was forbidden, so he has kept his love for her hidden, even through the tragedy of losing her. Now he must face tragedy once more. Can he endure it a second time or will he defy the laws and try to prevent it this time? There are many twists and turns to the story. Erina also stole my heart and she had me wanting to comfort her and make things better for her and Rory. I love how characters from previous books are brought into the story and yet it can still be read as a stand-alone. I am looking forward to Liam’s story and am hoping to hear more about the new generation of Dragon Knights. This will be a series I will read over and over again. I never tire of Mary Morgan’s stories and will never hesitate to purchase one of her books!
I loved this story so very much. It has all the elements of a awesome story-dreams, hope, despair, adventure, action, magic, romance, love, death, and promise.
Fenian Warrior Rory MacGregor, was in a place to think about his actions, and in doing so was losing himself. He didn’t want to live anymore. He lost the only thing he ever loved Erina. In a desperate action to save this warrior the King and the Kings son Conn send him back to when it all began, so he could relive the pain?? or fix the situation??
It was hard to say from the beginning; but what you find out about this warrior Rory MacGregor will surprise you, well it did me anyway..
Erina, only wanting to live in peace, and grow her herbs, flowers raise her sheep, and be left alone. Well until her brother forces her to stay with him at the castle, the one place that had caused her so much pain and suffering. But of course there was Rory there as well, that was enough to have a any heart be confused, with his viral ways with women, she didn’t want any part of it.
Such a good read, I really did love it.
Thank you Mary for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful story.
Fenian Warrior Rory MacGregor sits in a cell awaiting his trial in front of the Fae Council plagued not by what his future may hold but by his past. His torturous soul won’t let him grieve for the death of the only woman he’s ever loved, mortal Erina. He couldn’t save her and allows the shadows to take him over. When his secret is revealed, Rory is commanded by the Prince of the Fae to return to the mortal realm and rectify the timeline. But when he sees his beloved, the timeline shifts. Is this Rory’s second chance at love and saving Erina from death or is history bound to repeat itself?
My heart broke so many times while reading Oath of a Warrior. First for Rory and his gut-wrenching pain. Imagine witnessing the death of your beloved and even though you’re a magical being, you were powerless to stop it. You’d want the world to come crashing down and left alone to wallow in your grief. Now imagine you’re given a second chance.
This book oozes history and mystical elements with a plot that moves at a quick pace. I couldn’t stop reading this lush story and there was a time or two where I wondered if there could be Fae amongst us. The characters, though, are what makes this a must read. Everyone from Erina to Rory to Graham to Conn and the rest of the Fae leap off the page. Each has their own backstory, feelings and voice. The romantic arc between Erina and Rory makes all the heartbreak worthwhile.
If you’re a fan of Outlander, you need to read Oath of a Warrior. It’s a paranormal romance worth reading, even if you’re not a fantasy reader. Just take my advice and keep a box of tissues handy.
Favorite Character/Quote: Erina. With her connection to the Earth and her healing abilities, she wove a spell around me. She’s feisty and a little stubborn when it comes to her independence but her heart and willingness to help others makes her a beautiful heroine, both inside and out.
My Rating: 5+ stars
Fenian Warrior, Rory MacGregor and Erina’s love and future depends on fate and an altered timeline. The reader is immersed in another time and in the realm of the Fae as these two find love again. Settle in for another good read in this second book of the series .
Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
Oath of a Warrior Is truly amazing, A wonderful continuation in this new Fenian Warrior. series. Rory has been a favorite Since we met him in the Dragon Knight Series.
Rory has a reputation as a love them & leave them, it’s a cover for the one beautiful lass that stole his heart & the guilt of failing .
He has a second chance to right an event that could change the timeline . With the help of his Brothers from the brotherhood & a bit of fae magic,
Brilliantly written I loved Rory & Erina as well as other strong characters whom I think we will be seeing in the future.
A heartwarming story to be sure.
I was give this book as a gift, I was not compensated nor asked

Enchanting! Mary Morgan has a gift. With her words she paints visions. Absolutely enchanting…
Rory MacGregor is a Fenian Warrior, a fae. At the start of this story he is in agony. He didn’t mean to but he fell in love with a human woman, a healer who he failed to rescue from dying, burned at the stake as a witch. He’s in a Fae prison, the Room of Reflection, to ponder and prepare for his trial before the Fae Council. He’s about to slip into the Realm of Sorrows, trapped in his misery to become a shadow of his former self, over his dead love Erina MacInfyre. His Prince and fellow warrior Conn MacRoich, makes him face his failure by returning him to live the time again to resolve the pain. But Conn soon realizes the thread of time has been changed and we wonder will history be changed?
Erina is a healer trained by her Grandmother Aelish, after her mother Angelica died in childbirth. She has vast knowledge of herbs to heal and she also makes some love charms for those seeking to draw anther. Her only motives are love for her fellows. The problem is this is a time of suspicion and religion that shifts with the various ruling kings. Erina believes in the old religion and practices what some in their ignorance and fear believe is witchcraft. Her half brother Laird Graham, takes her back to his keep to keep her safe. Unfortunately that is not enough. She is stolen away and Graham and Rory must find her and rescue her before she is killed.
I cannot say enough about how rich Mary’s stories are. I have pictures in my mind of the Fae realm painted by Mary’s skilled use of words. Thank you Mary for the gift of this book. I will cherish this story. Second chance at love and guardian-protector heroes are my favorite storylines. This review is freely and honestly given and not requested by the author.
Rory MacGregor, a Fenian warrior. is imprisoned to reflect on his actions while he awaits trail for interfering in the human realm. What is playing on his mind is not the actions that brought about this punishment, but something that happened many years before.
Erina MacIntyre is known locally as a White Healer. Unfortunately some also will call her a witch, a very dangerous accusation in the 1600s.
Can our magical hero go back and live through it again? Will he see or do anything differently?
An emotional and exciting story full of magic and heartbreak. You will meet a few old friends from previous stories, but this is easily read on it’s own. Be warned it will make you want to read all the others especially those that are still to come.
I loved every page.
I read the first book in this series a while back, and the author really upped her game with the second installment. I didn’t think I could like these warriors and this world more, but I was wrong. This one is even better than the first. Rory is a tortured soul, close to going completely dark, and to go back in time to bring closure to all that haunts him, when the woman he loved had been burned at the stake, but when he returns, he finds the timeline slightly altered, and even though he’s not allowed to change the past or it could mean death, he decides to save the woman he loves.
This book is riveting, and even the secondary warriors are back and the main hero and heroine are perfectly cast for each other. The action sequences and the character interaction is spot on, and I had a hard time putting this one down. Reviewed by Cyrene
My takeaway: You truly don’t know when and where help will seek you out.
A Fenian Warrior has a special role in the realm of the Fae. They are to steer a better course for human mortals, yet not alter the timeline of their life strings. The Fenian Warriors has to tread carefully among humans, yet provide guidance without change the timeline.
Through thousands of years Rory is able to do so, until he meets Erina in 1605 in Scotland. He did what no Fenian Warrior should do. He fell in love. A Fenian Warrior must never fall in love, let alone, with a human. He hid what was in his heart and continued moving through time doing his duty. His love and denial of it festers, and herein lies his tale, Oath of a Warrior as penned by the talented Mary Morgan.
Rory has broken rules again, this time after meeting Erina. He aided the Dragon Knights of Urquhart, along with two other Fenian Warriors. This series is spawned from the previous one, where these three Warriors took it upon themselves to aid the Dragon Knights who travelled a path of redemption.
If you haven’t read the series Order of the Dragon Knights you are in for such a treat when you do. I fell in love with Mary Morgan during the reading of that series. And was delighted to find she reconnects us with the Dragon Knights in Legend of the Fenian Warriors.
Rory MacGregor is in a real pickle and just has been discovered. He has wronged another. Something Fenian Warrior cannot do and continue to retain their nobility and honor. So he must return through time to correct the wrong which was committed or forever be condemned by the demons he lives with and death from the Brotherhood.
His conflict is slowly killing him. He denies his love to Erina and is responsible for her death. But the land of the Fae with their capabilities of traveling through time, Rory is given another chance, to be as a Fenian Warrior should be, and to save the woman he gave his heart to. But can he save Erina from her death, burnt as a witch, while keeping his heart unattached the second time?
Morgan’s world building floats the reader in a magical world, fantasy, yet not. Her characters are so fleshed-out, I could touch them. Her scenes are descriptive—some being very emotional which put me to tears. Even in this second reading, I enjoyed the story to the maximum. I adore how the story is laid out. Morgan is a master at bringing all the elements together and keeping the reader with her at every step. A marvelous author to add to your reading enjoyment!
Rory MacGregor, Fenian Warrior, swears an oath to rewrite fate, even if it brings about his own death to save the female who once captured his heart. Determined to aid others, Erina MacIntyre refuses to acknowledge the whispers that label her witch. Can they find love once again or will history repeat itself leaving a path of destruction for both mortals and Fae alike.
The second book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series is moving romantic tale of a love that refuses to die. Rory and Erina are two very strong characters that easily draw readers in, capture their hearts and hold them hostage throughout their story. Rory and Erina’s romance is sweet and one readers recognize as meant to be right from the start but it is also full of danger and some seriously obstacles that has readers biting their nails and holding their breath.
Oath of a Warrior is a fast paced tale with a plot full of intrigue and excitement as Rory tries to rewrite history and keep his one true love alive, no matter the cost. The story has the feel of an adventurous quest and an epic romance and is full of thrilling suspense that keeps readers on the edge of their seat with anticipation as this story pulls readers into the realm of the Fae and through time with magic with fate and rules standing in the way of this couple’s heart.
Once again, Mary Morgan has created another vibrant and fantasy fueled world to brilliant life with her creative writing skills that transports the reader right into her world. I loved her Order of the Dragon Knights series and although I missed Quest of a Warrior (which I will be fixing asap) I am definitely in love with the Fenian warriors as well and I am looking forward to visiting this fabulous world again.
