BAD IDEA #241: Sending a dirty text to your number neighbor. In my defense, my friends did it too, and their neighbors took it as the joke it was.Mine didn’t.He responded with a dirty text of his own. Next thing I know, I have a standing texting date every night at ten-thirty.Until I have to miss it because the stray kitten who adopted me one week ago is sick. The only person I know who can help … only person I know who can help me at this time of night is my British next-door neighbor and local vet, Isaac Cooper.
I’ll keep him overnight, he says. Here’s my number to call me in the morning, he says.
The problem?
I know that number.
Because I’ve been texting it every night for the last four days…

I have never laughed out loud that much while reading a book! Number Neighbors by Emma Hart is so fun and flirty, I absolutely fell for Hannah and Isaac. Their interaction is fun and sexy but their sexting was off the charts! I really enjoyed this romcom and still have a smile on my face from reading it!
4 When the Wrong Number Is Actually the Right Number Stars!!
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you accidentally texted the wrong number? Well, we find out in another laugh out loud book from Ms. Hart. Hannah is dared by her besties to text her “number neighbor” and well let’s just say, the texts between her and, who we find out is Isaac, become hot and sexy right from the start…he’s an excellent dirty talker!!
Their texts back and forth not only had me fanning myself, but there were so many laughs too. I loved how Hannah came out of her shell a little bit with these texts because, she was never planning on meeting her number neighbor…until she realizes who it is and woo hoo… he’s got that sexy British accent she loves!!
This book made me so happy to read. I really needed a break from the heaviness of my last book and getting Immy, Mason, Maya, Grandma Jen along with Hannah and Isaac was exactly what I needed. I loved how Isaac loved Hannah making her believe in love! Ms. Hart has once again reinforced why she’s one of my go-to authors for rom-coms!
Emma Hart is a must-read author for me, because she never fails in making me laugh out loud when I’m reading one of her rom-coms.
This one is no exception. It’s an angst free, low on drama book that left me smiling and feeling happy.
If you read Frenemies, you met Hannah in that book, as she’s cousin to that story’s main character, and this time it’s her turn in the hot seat, and this book brought me nothing but joy and happiness as I was reading it. Whereas cousin Immy might come off a bit prickly, Hannah’s a bit more laid back in some aspects, but also has some trepidation about dating, as she’s not keen on putting herself out there, since she’s been crushing on her neighbor Isaac for the last few months. The chemistry between Hannah and Isaac is pretty obvious right from the start, and I liked that the catalyst that got them talking wasn’t something that was dragged out for the majority of the book; it happened, they dealt with it (much to Hannah’s dismay) and moved on from there.
No OM/OW shenanigans to muck up the story, and Grandma Jen’s Book Club definitely amped up the comedy in the story, and the arc about the cat adoption was a sweet spin. Overall, another fun and sweet romance from Emma Hart!
Hannah and Isaac were freaking hilarious!!!! They started texting without knowing who it was and when they discovered they were texting each other it was the funniest thing because they were neighbors that always had a crush on each other. It was funny reading how Isaac tried to win Hannah over and it was cute seeing her play hard to get. Throw in her cousin Imogen, her cousin boyfriend and of course her crazy grandmother Jen and you’re in for a great laugh. Great story.
Emma Hart has absolutely done it again! I giggled, I swooned, I thoroughly enjoyed this latest release Number Neighbors! (And am half curious to try this game now…)
Hannah sends a text to a random stranger, her number neighbor, yet, that ends up being a bit closer to home than she imagined, because he ends up being her actual neighbor! An attractive British vet that helps her with her newly-acquired-even-though-she-isn’t-keeping-him-but-totally-actually-is kitten Lucifer.
Hannah is quirky, fun, witty, perfectly imperfect and someone I absolutely want to be friends with. She deals with mortification in the best way, usually a glass of wine and has a winning personality. Isaac is simply dreamy and drool worthy and also witty, making them a fabulous match. He cares, is considerate and generous, and gives excellent dirty talk, and knowing that it’s in a British accent makes him swoon worthy!
Special shout out for the fun way in which Emma exploits American English Vs British English! I speak primarily American English but have been in the UK for ten years and have these exact conversations with friends, family, and colleagues on an almost daily basis! It put such a smile on my face!
One last thing… where’s Grandma Jen with my cheesecake?!
This will make you laugh, and your heart will feel full, so, what are you waiting for?
I’m fully here for Hannah & Isaac.
I loved their banter, the sarcasm, the whole enchilada. They worked. They blended. They mixed.
I loved this story.
And talk about sex-ting hot!!!
I loved there was no excess drama.
No moody characters.
Just a protective kitten and a group of sassy old ladies.
My only objective is how a back story wasn’t included which caused confusion for me as this was a standalone with characters intertwining from another book.
If you didn’t read Frenemies you wouldn’t know how Hannah got started by texting her Number Neighbor or how she got her kitten or where the location of the book takes place.
Ahhh I like Emma and enjoy most of her books, not all but most but this one was one of those eh, not really something that I need to read again nor want to. We have Hannah wasn’t my favorite and she seemed pretty dim. I love British accents so that part I was totally on board with, wasn’t crazy about the sexting, nope I dont have a problem with it but I didn’t really care for it. I also felt a little sad that we didn’t get more on Immy and Mason and yes I get that they had there own book but I wish we had a little more. All in all this was not my favorite book and as I mentioned I really dont think I will reread this book again as I tend to do, like right before reading this one I reread her kiss me tonight which i realized also started with texting but that one I really liked.
rcvd an arc at no cost to author…voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
Number Neighbors is a fun concept where the main character, Hannah is dared to text her phone number neighbor (one digit off in phone number). What happens is that they have a hot sexting session to be continued the next day. After the 2nd texting session, Hannah by accident realizes that her texting partner is actually her hot British next door neighbor. What ensues is a lighthearted fun romance.
It would be completely without nutty Grandma Jen and her gang of crazy old ladies. A quick fun read!
Sending a dirty text to her number neighbor wasn’t exactly in Hannah Anderson’s plan for a Friday night yet Hannah’s friends had made her do it. As for Hannah sexting with her number neighbor when her friends go home? It’s all on her. What happens when Hannah realises she’s been sexting with her sexy British neighbor Isaac Cooper and now he knows all her dirty little fantasies?
Number Neighbors is a funny, drama-filled and steamy story that will put a smile on your face
So, this story begins with Hannah, and her friends, texting their number neighbors. This begins as a funny joke, you know, texting the person with the number right next to your phone number, just to see what the responses would be. For the most part, everyone got responses from people who weren’t interested in any random conversation, but Hannah gets a more … interested response. Unfortunately for Hannah, this number neighbor wasn’t so random.
This story was adorable. I was already in love with this world, laughing at the old ladies’ antics, relishing in the friendships, and totally smitten with any of the kids coming onto the scene. I wasn’t prepared to really become invested in relationship beginning in such a silly way. I wasn’t sure that Hannah & Issac would begin anything … real.
I can’t tell you how many times I laughed, my heart fluttered, and I was truly pulled into the lives of the people in this world. The story of Hannah and Issac presented a sweet, but hot, love story that anyone would envy.
Just what I needed!
This story is so fun, sweet, and light-hearted, with no drama and it hit the spot!
Hannah and Issac are so much fun together. A night with girlfriends, and alcohol, ends with steamy sexy texts between her number neighbor. Then the next morning, Hannah’s stray kitten is sick, and she asks her neighbor who is a vet, Issac, for his help. When he gives her his phone number, she recognizes it and her embarrassment flies. I loved the way these two navigated the situation they were in and how their road to happily ever after had no drama.
Grandma Jen is back with a vengeance and I love her so dang much. Her book club ladies kill me and I laugh out loud when they’re getting into all kinds of trouble!
I also loved how the author brought up the difference in adopting a pet vs. purchasing a pet from a breeder. I agree with the thinking of the character 100% and I really enjoyed that it was brought up in this story with out sounding like a PSA. I’m a huge animal lover myself and it hit my heart just right!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Emma’s books keep getting better and better! I love the quirky main characters that Emma gives us, and Hannah is added to this list! We met Hannah in the previous book and got a little bit of context about her and her personality. While she’s had a crush on her next-door neighbor Isaac, she refuses to spark interest in him. Thanks to Grandma Jen though, they finally get their chance after Hannah finds out that her cell phone number neighbor, who she had a compromising text conversation with, is none other than Isaac. Thrown into their complicated situation is Hannah’s cat who she doesn’t take ownership of, yet we see her get attached to that Isaac helps take care of and rescue. There are a lot of fun points throughout the storyline that are Emma’s signature, and make the book that much more enjoyable, and in the end this couple defines the relationship and makes a go at it. I can’t wait to see who comes next in this series/book universe!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely love the writing style of this author. She does not disappoint in the least. We get awesome witty, funny and out of the world characters in this story. We see how Hannah and Issac start their story. We see the awkwardness of her finding out he is her number neighbor. Throw in a crazy loud mouthed grandma and you are ready for a good time. Def give a 5 star rating.
Numbers Neighbors by Emma Hart was a fun and light read. Hannah is out with friends and having a few drinks when they decide to have some fun. Now Hannah is having fun texting her number neighbor. But imagine her surprise when she needs help from her actual neighbor who is a vet and he gives her his number and it’s THE number?
The story was amusing and light-hearted and just had me laughing out loud. The characters were charming and it was easy to just fall into the story.
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Okay, as usual, Emma Hart’s latest had me rolling with laughter from page one! It really was perfect timing as I had a guy I’d been chatting with online who reminded me a bit of the whole conversations they were having before they found out who each other was. Now, I only recently found out about Number Neighbors when I got a text one day saying hi from my own number neighbor. But I was afraid it was a scam, so didn’t reply, and now after the hilarity of this book, I kind of wish I had at least said hi! While this book isn’t a part of a series, the main character Hannah, is cousins with Immy from Frenemies, which I loved! It also means that we got to enjoy their crazy grandmother, Jen, along with her crazy book club friends.
While I’m not really a cat person, I definitely adored little Lucifer, and loved what happened in the end with him. Again, as usual, Hart gives us the steaminess that I like, the snarkiness that cracks me up, as well as the sweet, romantic, happy ending that I live for.
Hello Isaac! I’m totally digging Hannah’s hot neighbour with his filthy mouth and caring animals skills. Swoon!
Let’s play a game. You text your number neighbour and I’ll text mine. Let’s see what results we get.
Hannah isn’t the adventurous type but when you have a crazy grandma and a cousin who’s up for a dare there isn’t much you can do. Talking to a stranger is weird but totally safe. There is no way you could possibly know him right? 😉
Hannah is so attracted to Isaac she struggles to talk to him. What happens when the rules change? Let’s find out.
Loved this book. It was funny, sexy and fur-ball fun. Isaac is a British hottie. The mix of American-English and British-English was great (I’m British). The banter really ticked me.
ARC received however I’ve ordered a Number neighbours book box vis Emma Harts website. I’ll own this PB.
I wouldn’t recommend reading this before Frenemies unless you don’t mind spoilers. Hannah is part of the same family. Both books can be read as standalone independently.
A girl’s night out, a few drinks too many, a sexy text to your number neighbor is nothing more than a little harmless fun at least until your number neighbor starts texting you back and things start to heat up. Everything was going so well until Hannah needed the help of her real neighbor with a kitten that is calling her place home since he is a vet. What she wasn’t expecting was to find out that both men are actually the same man, can you say uncomfortable?
All Hannah wants to do is pretend it never happened and that they don’t know each other but now that Isaac knows who his sexy texter is he isn’t about to walk away. Let the fun begin!
Not only are Hannah and Isaac great characters but the secondary characters only make the story that much better. This fun and flirty story will have you laughing out loud and doesn’t disappoint.
Number Neighbors is a guaranteed good time! My favorite thing about any Emma Hart book is I know I’ll laugh out loud and probably snort embarrassingly loud at some point. Her characters always have the best quirks and a serious lack of filter. The texts between these two will have steam rising from your pages. Grandma Jen is quite the spunky lady, between her explicit book club and her sassy attitude, she’ll keep you in stitches.
It’s hard to pick a favorite Emma Hart book, but I have to say this one ranks right at the top for me. Lots of comedy, romance and no drama – the perfect mix to give you a great escape from reality.
Emma Hart’s Number Neighbors had an insanely hilarious premise and I couldn’t get enough!
It all started with a dirty text to her number neighbor . . .who happened to respond in kind. And, from there a sexting relationship began between two strangers. It was only supposed to be fun. They were never supposed to meet.
But, when Hannah’s stray kitten becomes ill she turns to her handsome British neighbor, who happens to be a vet, for help, only to find that his phone number is all too recognizable . . .
Hannah is adorably quirky. Isaac has a wicked sense of humor. Together, they are super cute and awkward. I adored the miscommunications between English and American words and slang which made for some really funny moments. Grandmas Jen and her octogenarian crew are as raunchy and out of control as ever. And, Lucifer, the stray kitten lives up to his namesake when it comes to naughtiness!
Number Neighbors was very sweet, super awkward, spicy hot and hilariously funny. 5 stars!
