BAD IDEA #241: Sending a dirty text to your number neighbor. In my defense, my friends did it too, and their neighbors took it as the joke it was.Mine didn’t.He responded with a dirty text of his own. Next thing I know, I have a standing texting date every night at ten-thirty.Until I have to miss it because the stray kitten who adopted me one week ago is sick. The only person I know who can help … only person I know who can help me at this time of night is my British next-door neighbor and local vet, Isaac Cooper.
I’ll keep him overnight, he says. Here’s my number to call me in the morning, he says.
The problem?
I know that number.
Because I’ve been texting it every night for the last four days…

NUMBER NEIGHBOURS by EMMA HART
The story starts with a few friends texting their neighbor numbers.
Except Hannah’s texting turns into sexting, and what should have been one night turns into a standing sexting date.
Everything is sexy and fun, but what happens if Hannah discovers who her mysterious sexting partner is?
Isaac is a British vet who lives in a small American town and Hannah’s neighbor. He is a little alpha but also very sweet. He takes control and goes after what he wants.
Hannah is sassy and snarky but has a kind heart.
Isaac and Hannah have a good connection. I liked their teasing and banter.
The sex scenes were good. Isaac is the perfect dirty talking which is so sexy with that accent.
The side characters are hilarious. Hannah’s grandma and her friends are so over the top but super funny.
Kitten, Lucifer, aka not Hannah’s cat, is mischievous, which I loved.
While I like light stories, there wasn’t enough drama in this story. I think it would have been better and more fun with some more problems for the couple.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Will Watt and Avery Reid.
Will Watt has a sexy, deep voice with a hot accent. Sometimes I felt like he was telling me the story instead of “being” Isaac, but it worked for his part.
Avery Reid has a soft, pleasant voice, she is very enjoyable to listen to. Her grandma voice was super funny, and her English accent was well done.
Number Neighbours is a story that is very low on drama, but it is relaxing and funny. It is a good story to listen to while you have to do a chore you don’t want but have to do.
Like it.
Emma Hart is the Queen of Rom Coms. I’ve read quite a few of her books and they always make me laugh, get hot flashes and smile at the happy ending.
If your looking for an entertaining read just pick up any book from any of her series and you will be entertained.
I liked it. Not as much as others I’ve read of Emma’s, but it was still really good and kept me reading. Loved the British neighbor and how they both figured out who the sexter was. It was hilarious.
Fun and romantic
I loved it, I laughed loudly at times and couldn’t put it down.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
The characters is developed in to realistic personalities and they fit very good together.
Romantic, hot and sweet I recommend it very much. Quality entertainment.

This was a fun and lighthearted read. I didn’t know know what a number neighbor is. It is the stranger who has the cell number that is one digit off from your own. The story starts when Hannah is dared by a friend to send a flirty text to her number neighbor. The number neighbor responds and soon flirty texting turns into sexting.
Then Hannah realizes that her new sexting partner coincidentally happens to be her hot British neighbor who is a vet. And Hannah is in need of a vet to treat her unruly kitten. Hello awkwardness! The remainder of the book is Hannah and Issac getting over their awkwardness and trying out a real relationship.
Hannah and Issac number neighbors and regular neighbors. These two were cute together loved grandmom and her book club too. Absolutely loved Lucifer too. Never really heard of a number neighbor so not sure if that’s a thing or not.
Well, the book started off and was promising but I started getting bored with the story line. I got some of the characters mixed up and then the witty banter between Hannah and Isaac wasn’t a cutesy banter–to me Hannah was super standoffish….just fell flat for me…
Number Neighbors was such and enjoyable read. I have laughed at least once every chapter. By laughing, I mean I laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my face.
I was hooked from chapter one and let me tell you, it started with a BANG!!! HOT HOT HOT ALERT!
The sexting between Isaac and Hannah was off the charts. I fell in love with Isaac and Hannah! Their story was filled with the perfect mix of humour and emotion. They were both so easy to relate to. I loved their personalities, which I think that the author does a fine job of showing the reader.
They have both endearing qualities and flaws and that’s the reason why they are a match-made in heaven.
Lucifer is my favourite cat and Grandma Jen…. I do not think that there is a word in the dictionary that could describe her perfectly. I want to join her bookclub just for the banter!
If you need a book to boost your mood Number Neighbors is for you!
Number Neighbors is a fun laugh out loud read. You will just love this one. Isaac is sweet and charming. He will make you swoon. Hannah is fabulous. I loved her so much. You feel the chemistry build between Isaac and Hannah slowly and boy does it burn bright. You will get a kick out of Hannah’s grandma. I couldn’t put this one down and loved every moment of this one. Emma Hart is my go to author when I need some romcom in my life.
This book made me get in a good mode, I just love reading Emma Hart books because they always make me laugh and swoon. Hannah and Isaac were amazing, I loved how awkward Hannah was the way she reacted with Isaac was everything.
This book was about two people who even when there was an awkwardness in the middle, they find a way to create a friendship. I loved how this story wasn’t an instant love fairytale, this was a slow burn filled with laughter. Isaac and Hannah sure make the reader feel like they are standing right there seeing everything happen, I loved this book. Another must read by Emma Hart!!
What a coincidence…who would’ve thought that the faceless person that Hannah spent a night of naughty texting with would turn out to be much closer than she thought? Yep, talk about an OMG moment. Looking her next door neighbor in the eye just got a lot more awkward. But this is pure Emma Hart, and, with all of the very serious things going on in real time, NUMBER NEIGHBORS is just the sort of fun sexy read that I needed.
Hannah and Isaac are both immediately likable. They’re smart, snarky, sexy, and just the right type for each other. Does it take a hot minute for them to realize this? Yes, but once they start letting their guards down and go with what’s happening, it doesn’t take long. Isaac and Hannah have great chemistry, both in and out of the bedroom, which is important for me in a book. I like that they have common interests, and that there’s more to them than just the physical.
Emma continues to write rom-com gold, and she has broken the mold with Grandma Jen and her girl gang. Seriously, these ladies are a force to be reckoned with, but I think that we all want to be at least a little bit like them when we grow up…
I’m loving this new series from Emma. These characters are hilarious. There is no way you can be amused by a drunken sexting conversation, a devil kitten called Lucifer and a group of Grannies that think they are still teenagers.
Once I started this I was completely held hostage until I finished. As always Emma brought her wit and humour A game with this one. I loved the banter between Hannah and Issac, the debates over the English language and the serious steam and chemistry between them.
Well done Emma! Definitely one of my top books of yours
Drunken number neighbors texting, a cat called Lucifer, an uncontrollable teenage acting Granny and a hot neighbour who’s a vet with a duck fear, oh and British, I should have said hot British next door neighbour * fans self
“Jesus dirty talk in a British accent was heaven”
Number neighbours was funny, the characters witty and fun and the sexy scenes hot.
“Nice knickers”
I peered down. Awesome. Just awesome. I was wearing lime green, cotton panties with cherry print on them, and I’m pretty sure they had a hole on the ass.
I enjoyed it, an ideal read to lift the mood and infuse some laughter and romance into your day.
As always Emma Harts words were witty, fun and her characters lovable.
Leads to a hea and told in first person dual pov.

Emma Hart has a way with words…she is able to take any situation that would embarrass the h*** out of anyone and make it an amazing plot for her book.
Number Neighbors is one of these cases because when Hannah is pressured into sending a text to her number she never expected what happened.
Issac is the hot British Vet and also Hannah’s next door neighbor. What happens when he receives a random text and answers it? He helps Hannah with her “not” kitten and happens to find out who his mystery text is from.
This book had some many one liners that it had me laughing. The banter between all the characters was great and Grandma Jen was as spunky as always.
I can’t wait to read what Emma comes up with next.
This was really funny, and extra steamy.
This starts out with Hannah, Immy, and Fran, you might remember them from [book:Frenemies|50032295], immaturely texting strangers with raunchy messages. They all get responses, but Hannah’s promising and leads to a night of naughty texting. She feels embarrassed and guilty about it, but who cares she doesn’t know who was on the other end. When the kitten she found ends up with a cold, her handsome British neighbor, who happens to be a veterinarian offers to check him out and gives him her number to check in. Hannah quickly realizes her number neighbor and dirty text partner is sexy vet Isaac whom she’s had a crush on forever. Unbeknownst to her, Isaac is equally attracted to her, so when he finds out that Hannah was the lady on the end of those dirty texts he takes no time pursuing her in person.
This was a fun, quick read with all of the comedic aspects I’ve come to expect from Emma Hart. There is no drama between the characters. There is no dramatic thing that pushes them apart and makes them realize the error of their ways. They have to decide if they want to give their relationship a go, but other than that the only drama in the story is crazy Grandma Jen and her equally hilarious friends. You want to their drama, they are so funny!!
4.5
I absolutely love the way Hannah and Isaac “connect”! They have such chemistry there and I love seeing how it all blows up once they find out who their number neighbor really is. Talk about an awkward! Hannah is so awkward with it and I was throughly entertained with her trying to fumble through everything. The fact that Isaac is British and he is a vet is a slam dunk on swoon. I really enjoyed their story, especially that it wasn’t similar to other books I have read. It felt like a breath of fresh air!
Who isn’t going to like a book about a hot British vet?? I mean come one, that accent and the fact that he loves animals?!?! That is a potent combination. Add a sassy neighbor who is adopted by a stray cat, a crazy cousin and an even crazier grandmother and her book club and you have a recipe for romcom gold.
Hannah is living her life and doing ok. She works with her cousin at their Grandma’s shop and has recently been adopted by a stray kitten. One drunken night leads to her and her cousin and their friend texting their number neighbors. Hannah just happens to have a number neighbor that gets her in a little bit of an awkward situation for both of them. Turns out it is her hot British neighbor, Isaac. What are the odds???!!!
This book was so funny. The book club is at it again and will have you laughing so hard you cry. You don’t want to miss this book and I can’t wait for the author’s next story!
Number Neighbors by Emma Hart is another heart-warming rom-com from one of my favorite authors. A sexy texting incident between strangers turns into much more when they realize that they are not anonymous sexters but are in fact next-door neighbors. Queue the awkwardness!!! But things turn out well. Isaac handles Grandma Jen with an enviable ease, is a wonderful vet with a skill for taking care of Hannah’s kitten (from hell) Lucifer, and comes complete with wonderfully sexy British accent to boot. Hannah manages to overcome her own awkwardness and issues with knowing the man she was sexting is her hot neighbor she barely knows and manages to get out of her own way and let the relationship with Isaac blossom. Loved it! A flawless feel-good read, especially now with the world in turmoil and isolation. Enjoy!
5 stars
Sexting with a complete stranger? Hannah’s never dreamt of such a thing. Texting a complete stranger was enough of a twist to her normal everyday life. Her friends put her up to it. Hannah is actually pretty reserved compared to most in her group. Texting her number neighbor is the most adventurous thing she’s done in forever. Thank goodness she’ll prob never meet this person, right? Famous last words….until she discovers who it is.
Isaac has lived next door to Hannah for a while. They converse every once in a while on the way to the mailbox or taking the trash out. He’s never had the nerve to ask her out. He’s actually quite surprised when she comes over late one night worried about her “not hers” kitten that she rescued. This will be the snowball that starts the avalanche.
I could not have loved this story any more. A sexy Brit and the sweet girl next door. Their story was one that unfolded perfectly. Not only did these two have chemistry, but they were able to be themselves, cherry underwear and all. Plus, Grandma Jen and Lucifer. This is one of those stories that I need more of. I also love seeing the little bits of Emma Hart in this story.
