Being bad never felt so good…The office is full of rules. Making a charity calendar of the hot guys on your floor? Not allowed. Shrinking your boss’ underwear when he sends it for dry cleaning? Can’t do that either. But those things preserve the natural order. Because Avery Banks, our resident rising star, is a shark. The tall, blond, and gorgeous kind with zero patience and even less … zero patience and even less forgiveness.
Good thing I’m the Mae West of executive assistants. I live to put grown men in their place.
He wasn’t supposed to find out.
Now he’s made it his personal mission to screw me the way I screwed him. I’m at his beck and call for every humiliating request.
Until we stumble on a new game. One we both want to play. One we both need to win.
And once we start…Avery doesn’t want to replace me. I don’t want him to.
All I want is more of this. The fire under the ice. What happens behind closed doors.
It’s twisted, and so damn hot. But he’s my boss. And with the company coming off a scandal even I couldn’t engineer? What we’re doing is strictly NSFW.
Lucky for me, Avery and I have one thing in common…
We both suck at following the rules.
NSFW is a smart, quirky and HOT enemies-to-lovers office romance! Book two in the hit series about a quirky group of young gaming and finance professionals in Boston. Each book is standalone.

Do you want a sassy, mischievous heroine who is all about getting one over on the “stick-up-his-butt” boss? How about a sexy, daring, dedicated employee making life easier for those around her? Or the perfect friend who makes hot guy calendars of the prime males at work?
If you said yes to any or all of these, I have the woman for you. If by some weirdly ironic reason you said no to all of the above, you must be said “boss-with-the-stick-up-his-butt” or have zero sense of humor, either way you cannot be helped.
This sexy workplace romance will have your rooting for our girl and shaking your head at the sexy, yet stunted boss. Emotional growth may be an imperative for both but I know which team you are choosing and it has boobs!
NSFW is sexy and sweet with feels, fun, and enough hijinks to keep you guessing but… maybe you shouldn’t read it at work!
After reading Play, I was all ready to dive into Charlie and Avery’s story. This could be a standalone book but it is so much better if you read the first book because you get a lot of the history of the pranks that Charlie has played on her boss for years and Max and Payton continue on in this book. That being said, I just loved this book so much! The chemistry between the characters is so good, the sex is hot! hot! hot! and there were moments riding a mechanical bull and eating a giant cookie in the CEO’s office with her feet up when I laughed out loud and other times at the nursing home that my heart melted and times it literally broke. Trevor, her half dead spider plant. The calendars! Oh, my, the calendars! That’s what makes a writer good. And Piper Lawson is very good! And red and yellow do make orange.
I enjoyed reading this book, even though it was not something I would usually pick up.
The first chapters were so entertaining.I couldn’t help but smile and laugh
So here’s the thing, I started this book disliking Avery after the harsh introduction in Play.
But I definitely came around.
Charlie is just to die for. I loved the shit out of her in Play and she totally surpassed everything I expected.
Piper just had this amazing style of writing, full of sass, sarcasm and humor and I am so here for it.
5 stars and a hot-guy calendar
Great for the office romance
The blurb is a bit misleading and I didn’t really feel the chemistry between the characters. Realistically, I didn’t really connect with either character and didn’t feel like they fit together well. But it isn’t poorly written or anything, it just wasn’t for me.
Interesting characters good read.
Another great book to keep me coming back for more of Piper Lawsons work
Great read
NSFW – Piper Lawson
NSFW was a natural progression in reading her books after reading Play.
Charlie (Charlotte) Merriweather and Avery Banks are the oddest couple ever, or are they. There is something about Charlie (her preferred name) and Avery seem to butt heads and opinions on almost an hourly basis some days. If opposites attract these are the two opposites to do it!
Charlie is Avery Banks assistant. Avery works at Alliance Bank (yes same bank Payton from Play works at), he is ambitious and according to Charlie one fine good looking man. It just so happens Avery is on the other end of every joke or prank that Charlie can arrange. So it’s safe to say they might have a love/hate relationship or do they? It takes a pretty big ripple through the bank to bring Charlie and Avery together and when the skirmishes end it appears they might just have something to build on.
If you don’t lose it laughing at some of the things Charlie does to Avery then your humour isn’t well developed. If you can see yourself doing some of those things, we need to be friends. I think Charlie and I would make really good friends. NSFW strips these two down to their real personalities and what they find is that they have more in common than they thought. Piper Lawson takes this story and throws in a obstacle course, a firing, a wonderful grandmother, a pregnant friend, a sister and a calendar called Bank Babes to get these two to recognize what is in front of them.
Again, I have to give Piper Lawson and NSFW a 5 star review. When you add in reoccurring appearances from Max, Payton, Riley and the hippest Grandma around this story doesn’t let you down.
Charlie always has no in for Avery and played jokes on him just to get back at him for being so stuck up. Little did she know the man behind the facade but only after he fired her and then had to bribe her with the promise of a good reference to stay on longer to help organize acompany gala, an event of which the success may secure him the promotion he wants. That then puts them them in closer proximity than ever before and that’s when the sparks began to fly. They could not ignore the physical attraction between them but Avery does not believe in relationships nor does Charlie. Or do they… Avery needs to learn to trust in the people around him and Charlie needs to learn to believe in herself and her strengths. Will they be able to figure it out before it is too late? The chemistry between the characters are off the charts and I could not stop turning the pages. Another excellent read from what is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

The book is everything! I loved it so much. I love the characters, their chemistry, everything about them. Ava and Nate have always been my favorite couple of Piper’s but I think I may love Charlie and Avery more. This book should be on your TBR list.
I was excited to read this from the blurb, but while I did enjoy it I think I was waiting for a little more, but please do not think that I didn’t I did I guess I just wanted a little more..I love Charlotte she was fun and I liked her with Avery even though sometimes he needed to take that stick up his butt. All it was a cute book.

Smart, Funny, Sexy, And Not The Typical Office Romance! Charlie And Avery’s Story Is Heartwarming.
Charlotte Merriweather, twenty-four year old fashionista with a large social media following, insists on being called Charlie. Her indulgences: shoes, clothes, and nail polish. She is a real firecracker, much to the chagrin of the uptight type-A’s who work at Alliance. A high school dropout, Charlie was lucky to land her job there two years ago, at a time when Alliance was desperate for help, but she has proved her value since. As a highly capable administrative assistant at a large financial institution, Charlie believes she has a responsibility to keep balance in the workplace by pulling harmless pranks meant to level the playing field. Because karma isn’t fast enough. This gives her a sense of fulfillment.
She had split her time amongst three associates, including her best friend Payton who was recently promoted. But six weeks ago Avery Banks notified her she is no longer going to be shared, and would instead report to him full-time.
Avery Banks, who wears a permanent scowl. The primary target of her many pranks, who also happens to be the hottest guy at Alliance and the one she absolutely cannot get along with. Avery barks orders that Charlie can’t bring herself to follow, and her quips only aggravate him further – and he isn’t beneath retaliation. Their working relationship is dysfunctional at best.
Avery Banks, about twenty-nine, is not a team player. He goes after what he wants, though maybe in the wrong way. He is focused when listening. Fast thinking and always working on something. He kills at bringing in new business for Alliance. He has quietly been working on a program that will fundamentally transform client relationship management, which might even help earn him a promotion.
When Avery catches Charlie pulling a stunt, he is finally certain it is sabotage, not incompetence. With a promotion on the line, she is dangerous to him. Their working relationship clearly needs to end, but he can’t afford to lose her just yet, and she needs his recommendation to land a good job. They agree to a truce – to help one another for about one more month, until Avery’s next performance review. Then they part ways and she leaves Alliance.
When the truce forces them to stop fighting, Charlie and Avery’s chemistry needs a new outlet – and the sparks fly! Both have baggage, and neither is relationship material. Yet once they submit to the physical release, their reluctant hearts begin to open up. But they are working with a limited timetable, and issues of a workplace romance aren’t the only obstacle they face. They both have a lot of work to do personally before they can be any good in a relationship. In her journey, Charlie is forced to finally face the past that she ran from and to then do some soul-searching. Avery must decide whether to risk becoming vulnerable by being in a real relationship with Charlie. Charlie and Avery are a memorable couple. They deserve their HEA!
This story covers the issue of women in the workplace without coming across as too preachy or detracting from Charlie and Avery’s story. Avery is an arrogant ass, but once he is understood and he is seen as a person, it is harder to box him into a category. He is a man, and men think differently so they are easily misunderstood by women. At the same time, his personal growth is wonderful to read about.
Charlie and Avery first share sparks in “Play,” Max and Payton’s story. So naturally Max and Payton’s story continues here in a few scenes, although both books are stand-alone. Riley is in both books and has his own story “Rise.”
This book is nicely written. The beginning will have you laughing; the end is more serious. The latter part of my advance copy could use some cleaning up, but that may have been corrected in the released version. It is written from Charlie’s POV, with the exception of the first epilogue, which is from Avery’s POV. The plot is interesting. Because Charlie plans on leaving Alliance, it is not the traditional workplace romance scenario. Aside from the over-the-top antics, this story feels very real. The business angle comes across as authentic. The characters are engaging. Charlie is hilarious and Avery’s reactions are entertaining, but their story is deeply felt. Assuming the final version is cleaned up, I rate this story 4.5 stars.

This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Piper Lawson; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Entertaining and deliciously sarcastic
NSFW is the first book that I have read by Piper Lawson so I was not sure what to expect but the description of the story looked interesting. I found the story of Avery and Charlotte to be entertaining but also a bit frustrating. The author has written a well developed story-line and characters, both main and secondary, that are likeable and fun. Charlotte is a real prankster on her boss, Avery, and he has had enough of it. But she is also frustrating as a character in the fact that she does not have any clue what she wants in life except, While Avery is also a bit frustrating in that he is very buttoned-up corporate and cool in the way he is written.
When Avery and Charlie get to know each other, after she is transferred in the office to be his Personal Assistant, they are drawn to each other and the chemistry is palpable.
As a note I should also mention that NSFW is the second book in a duet with Play being the first book. It says that these books are stand-alone but based on other reviewers comments I think that reading Play first, which introduces both Charlotte and Avery, might be a good idea. I do think you can read NSFW as a stand-alone but I feel like I might have missed out on getting some more background and understanding of these two characters from the previous book.
Overall I liked this book and it was a very engaging and delightful reading experience. I look forward to reading more from Piper Lawson.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
found this to be a superb storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!
I was very impressed with how simply and effortlessly this author told this addicting, multi-layered story with well-developed world building and great characters.
