“Through this pitch-perfect rom-com, Kristina Forest explores the legacy of family and what it means to be young and full of artistic passion. I was utterly charmed from start to finish.” –Maurene Goo, author of Somewhere Only We Know Now That I’ve Found You is a YA novel about searching for answers, love, and your eccentric grandma in all the wrong places. I’ve been excited to read more from Kristina Forest ever since I read and loved her debut last year, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but NOW THAT I’VE FOUND YOU is even better than I WANNA BE WHERE YOU ARE. I devoured this delightful rom-com in a single night. This book hit all the right notes for me in terms of the slow burn romance and the wry humor, the warm friendships and the complicated family connections, and the simple pure joy of Evie herself. And Milo! I loved the balance of strength and kindness that he embodied. I defy readers not to fall for him completely (and cover artist Kat Goodloe captured him perfectly). In fact, I defy readers not to fall for every single page of this compelling and charming book.
This was so sweet! I really loved it. It had interesting characters, a mysterious Hollywood plotline, and such a cute romance!
Milo was such a sweet character I just wanted to squeeze him, and I felt like he made the perfect match for Evie. Evie is a harder character to like and could be frustrating at times because of how self-centered she is, but honestly, I didn’t mind that so much. I think because of her upbringing and who her family is, and the fact that she wants to be an actress it made sense to me that there were a lot of times she was only thinking about herself. It could be annoying for sure, but she had good growth that made up for that.
I also really loved her grandmother. She was such an intriguing character and learning more about her history was interesting.
As well, the setting of New York really came to life. I felt totally transported and pulled into the story and all that made up Evie’s world. Some books set in New York don’t do it justice, but this one truly felt like a love letter to the city from a true fan.
This also was such a fast read. If I had had more time I think I definitely could have finished it in one sitting. It was fun, cute, and had a lot more going for it, which I love in a contemporary. The more layers a story has the better in my opinion. I have another book by this author and I can’t wait to read it now!
A sweet YA romance, where not only are these two main characters falling in love the heroine, Evie, is really finding herself and figuring out who she wants to be! It’s also unique as you sort of get double the love story in one book. This story is overall light hearted and a pretty easy read. There is a dash of angst as the main character is cancelled by the public/media and is sort of hiding out and trying to find her grandma, who is a beloved actress out of the public eye, so that she can help Evie polish off her tarnished star. In order to do that she has to search for her all over New York with Milo, who is the last person to have seen her grandma Evelyn. It’s an entertaining story if you’re looking for cute YA with those find yourself coming of age vibes!
Book 102 towards my goal of 290! 4/5 stars for this YA Romance read! Such a fun read! Our MC thinks she’s looking for her grandmother, but ends up finding herself. Super cute love interest. Love the cover and the narration. Definitely recommend if you’re needing a YA Romance fix!
I loved loved loved reading this entire book! This book has been on my TBR since I first read the summary and learned about it! Thank you first of all to BookishFirst for sending me a copy of the book! I was so excited to find it in the mail! OKAY! So, I was absolutely so impressed by Milo’s character in general! We normally don’t see characters like him in many YA novels, the ones that are casual friends with Hollywood royalty! The banter between Milo and Evie throughout the book was also absolutely perfect! And the ending!!! The ending literally is so swoon-worthy and just so amazing in general! I love one of the lines at the end of the book that was talked about in the beginning of the book a lot! The book was a full circle, round, wholefulness story that I absolutely enjoyed so so so so much!
I really enjoyed this book! I think most of us can relate to being betrayed by a friend in our youth, and this perfectly showed how that feels, even if it was on a much larger scale than most of us had to deal with. I also really loved the relationship between Evie and her grandmother, and how Milo had a similar relationship with her.
There is a great story here with a young actress and how she wants to follow in her grandmother’s footsteps, but I also really enjoyed the side story about the grandmother herself. I think I would read the story about her and James as well. But I think the journey that Evie and Milo take and how they interact with each other and others around them will reach out to many different readers. I think Simone is a truly deplorable character. I know there are some who will say she sort of redeemed herself, but to me she was just the ultimate villain.
The end of the book was priceless. I loved it so much! What Milo says to Evie when she gets to him made me smile so big! I think it was the perfect ending to this endearing story.
Evie is a young actress living in L.A. and has a legacy to live up to. Her parents are famous documentary film makers and her grandmother, Gigi, is a legendary actress. She has dreamed of following in Gigi’s footsteps her whole life. Evie is about to launch into superstardom in a thriller movie with a famous director, when her best friend Simone betrays her by posting an embarrassing drunken video of Evie on social media. Evie’s trust is shattered and she loses the movie role. She has a chance to star in the remake of her grandmother’s most famous movie. All she needs is Gigi’s blessing. She visits Gigi in New York and meets Gigi’s friend Milo an aspiring teenage musician. Gigi subsequently vanishes and Evie and Milo search NYC for Gigi. At the beginning of the book, Evie’s behavior is selfish. She is thinking only of what her grandmother can do for her career. She does not start off on the right foot with Milo. She grows a lot during the story and comes to realize that people are complex and that self worth should not be based on what others think of you. Now That I’ve Found You is a fun, fast-paced coming of age story.
i really enjoyed this book and thought it was a very cute and fun romance and a easy read to get back into reading, I also really enjoy the cover of this book and the the colors
The main character Evie Marie gets blacklisted after a video of her mocking the director of the movie she was supposed to star in gets leaked by her ex best friend Simone she then goes to New York to try and convince her grandmother Evelyn Conway who was a famous actress to do a public appearance at a ceremony that could save her career where she meets Milo who has been staying with Evelyn so much that he even has his own room in her house. Milo is a nineteen year old musician. After Evie and Evelyn get in a fight about giving her the award she disappears and she needs MIlo’s help trying to track her down in time for the ceremony.
When Evie first enters the scene, I had definitely had mixed feelings toward her. I understood her hurt from the betrayal that she suffered, but her presumptive attitude towards Milo, the teenage guy who actually makes time for Evie’s lonely grandmother, Gigi, was frustrating to say the least.
However, following Gigi’s mysterious disappearance, I really enjoyed the growth of Evie’s character, which Milo was largely responsible for since he just wanted to be an unassuming friend.
I loved the storyline surrounding Milo and his bandmates. It is very much a found family situation since each of the guys is struggling with their own identity and acceptance from their perspective families.
I wish I had a grandmother like Gigi. Her love for her granddaughter is monumental. And the tricks that she has up her sleeve in under to get Evie to understand herself is pure genius.
So, if you’re looking for a heartfelt story that will leave your heart bursting at the seams by the end and is packed with adventure then Now That I’ve Found You is the book for you.

I’ll be honest, I don’t read a ton of YA romance. That being said, Kristina Forest completely knocked it out of the park with her first book, I Wanna Be Where You Are, and I was extremely excited for her second book, Now That I’ve Found You. I think this book just edged out the first and that mostly because I’m not the biggest fan of road trip romances. Now That I’ve Found You is a forced proximity adventure romance. The heroine, Evie, is an aspiring actress. She was burned by her former best friend and her career is suffering. Luckliy, her grandma, Gigi, is a famous movie star and an appearance with Gigi is just what’s needed to put her career back on track. Evie is in New York to lay low and convince her grandma to help her. However, when Gigi disappears, Evie must team up with Milo, a young musician and friend of Gigi’s to try to track her down. Adventures ensue as Evie and Milo rush around NYC, trying to find Gigi and falling for each other in the process.
This book is a story of growth for especially for Evie, but also for Milo and even Gigi. You can really see that Kristina Forest has settled her writing feathers and takes the time to explore her characters. I feel like this is a more mature book than I Wanna Be Where You Are. Both deal with the coming of age story and determining what path to take your life. However, Now That I’ve Found You is deals with the realities of fame at a young age and the pressures of family and the spotlight. Evie and Gigi have such a special relationship and it was sad to see when it was starting to break. While it was clear that Evie needed the support of her grandma, the adventure she went on to find Gigi allowed her to find herself along the way. With Milo, she learned she could be spontaneous and fun while still pursuing her goals. She learned that making mistakes and trusting the wrong people does not mean she has to lose everything and that she can always rebuild. The support from Evie especially is beautiful. As for Milo, he’s a great support to Evie and offered her a chance to see and experience a different life. He’s a lovely hero but this is totally Evie’s book.
I honestly enjoyed this story so much. It was the perfect combination of heartfelt and realistic. I put the book down and wished for the adventure of running around NYC with a musician! This story, and Evie’s growth in particular, touched my soul. I loved seeing her confidence in herself start to return and her willingness to trust again even after being burned. She learns the importance of being true to herself and becoming her own person as well as the importance of the support of friends and loved ones. Simply, this is a beautiful story!
