“Harlow Hampton meets the Iris Boys.” All I needed was a break. A sign. Something. Nearly getting run over was not the sign I was looking for, but it’s what I got. That and a group of guys who say they work for something called Iris. No, thank you.I had enough to deal with, thank you very much. No brother. No dad. No sanity most of the time. I certainly didn’t need to be dealing with thieves and … need to be dealing with thieves and wild cats and guys that were way too good looking. That is…I didn’t need them until they were all I had left. Now I have to make a decision about my future and whether or not they’re going to be in it.
This is a Reverse Harem title

Wow this was a really good start to an amazing series. I’ve read Lucy as a co author to one of my favorite regular author and decided I needed to know her writing. I’m sooo glad I did. This was a great book and I love the cha and adore the writing.
I just finished the series and I swear it just gets better and better. It’s a must-read and my favorite contemporary RH that I’ve read! Lucy has a way of really making you feel like Harlow’s journey could happen in real life!
Harlow is a very sweet, but strong and independent girl. She comes of age in this story and seeing her grow is beautiful. All the guys in the harem are different and each relationship unique. I also love the kind of crime mystery element in each book!
Oh wow, this have off an older more mature Ghost Bird Academy vibe. Sooooo good! These characters are amazing and the storyline is complex and, complicated. I very much look forward to continuing this series.
This is a brilliant series from Lucy Smoke. I would argue that it mostly falls in the “guys save girl” trope, but the main character is by no means helpless. It is also a slow/medium burn; no sexy times in this book. This was actually one of the first series I read when I started reading RH. I think only the first two books were out then? I didn’t review it at the time, but I finally got the chance to read book 4 and decided to do a whole series reread before I did.
I’m going to try to keep from colouring this review knowing what I know about the whole series. Harlow is a fantastic character. She’s this brilliantly strong, feisty, smart heroine who has had to take on and sacrifice far too much, far too young. Effectively, she’s working every spare minute she can while also trying to finish high school and supporting her sick mother. She sounds almost too perfect on paper, but she does have her pitfalls. In walk the MC’s, who she has good chemistry with in general, but not everyone is on the same level to start, which I think actually adds to the story. Not everyone is going to be on level pegging all the time. It’s also an interesting dynamic because four of the MC’s are already friends and a team, but a fifth is also in the wings, that you don’t really know what’s going to happen with. The guys don’t come in with the intent to save her (though I think they all want to), but instead they offer her the chance to save herself by joining their team. If I was picking at threads, I would say that the story starts a little slow, but not tons. Most of if lays out who Harlow is and what she’s had to go through.
If you’re wondering whether you should start this series, the answer is yes. Aside from the fact that it’s now a complete series, it is a well-developed story with complex characters for whom the harem doesn’t necessarily start with rainbows and flowers. They do work for it a bit, but it’s still entertaining, and there are a lot of heartfelt moments.
I loved this book! Such a fantastic world, with lovable characters that I couldn’t get enough of!
Great start to this series. I love the characters and the slow build so far. I like getting to know the characters a little bit before they dive into the relationship. Don’t get me wrong sometimes you need a fast paced, hot, sexy read. But when you need a awesome slow/medium burn, this one would be for you. I was pulled in by the cover and blurb, and was hooked by chapter 4! I can not wait to see what happens with Harlow and the guys in the future! I can’t wait to see how each of her relationships build with each guy. I can’t wait for book 2!
