Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg never asked for fame—she has only tried to make the world a little better and a little freer.
But nearly a half-century into her career, something funny happened to the octogenarian: she won the internet. Across America, people who weren’t even born when Ginsburg first made her name as a feminist pioneer are tattooing themselves with her face, setting her famously searing dissents to music, and making viral videos in tribute.
Notorious RBG, inspired by the Tumblr that amused the Justice herself and brought to you by its founder and an award-winning feminist journalist, is more than just a love letter. It draws on intimate access to Ginsburg’s family members, close friends, colleagues, and clerks, as well an interview with the Justice herself. An original hybrid of reported narrative, annotated dissents, rare archival photos and documents, and illustrations, the book tells a never-before-told story of an unusual and transformative woman who transcends generational divides. As the country struggles with the unfinished business of gender equality and civil rights, Ginsburg stands as a testament to how far we can come with a little chutzpah.

I did not know much about RBG. But I absolutely loved the book! She is my hero!
This is a wonderful compilation of RBG’s life and achievements. If you don’t know what all the hoopla about RBG is all about, then I suggest you read this book. It tells it like it happened, disappointments and successes.
Insightful, easy to read history of RBG
Great job revealing the good work and life of an outstanding Human!
Loved reading about RBG I’m a huge fan. Her opinions got a little bogged down unless you’re a law student it was hard to wade through.
Poorly written and disconnected. Biographical stuff interesting; her husband’s recipes were an interesting includsion. Full of information, not really something to be read from beginning to end.
Excellent bio on RBG!!!!
The review of the Supreme Court cases RBG filed dissents with was very informative. The pictures were a little distracting because I would have preferred additional text about the cases, but they did make the book quick to read.
I learned so much about RBG from this book. I had no idea how much she had impacted my life and that of every other woman in America. Thank you, RBG!
Wonderful sum up of her life…so far!
Wonderful information about RBG and her legal philosophy. Well documented.
Informative
I really enjoyed this book, though not what I would call a page turner,I learned a lot.
Interesting and kept my attention through out. Relatable.
What a great woman RBG has been for women and men’s rights. Amazing what one person’s affect can be. Go RUTH!! This book brought back so many encounters I had and forgotten as a young woman, mother, wife, worker in the early 70’s. And how much has changed upon my retirement in 2015…. There’s still a way to go, but definitely going the right direction.
Great book! At times I wanted deeper detail but it was a good quick read.
I have grown up hearing Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s name but I have never thought to look her up until she became Tumblr & facebook famous. I’ve been wanting to read this book ever since I knew of its existence. I just never made the time and whenever an audible credit came available I would find something else to purchase instead. Needless to say, when this audiobook was on sale on Audible I knew it was finally time to buy it.
Notorious RBG is a truly wonderful book. I never knew what Ruth Bader Ginsburg did for women until this book. She really is an inspiration. Learning about RBG was a wild ride. The things this woman has gone through is truly inspirational and I loved how much she has accomplished in her life. Reading this book inspired me to be more. I loved some of the lessons that were told and it shows how important it can be to meet in the middle and still show respect when you hold differing opinions.
All in all, if you’re looking for a good biography on an inspirational woman this is the book for you.
helps to understand the motivation behind the woman.
My admiration for Justice Ginsberg is increased almost daily. She is only a few months older than I. Whereas I was easily persuaded that girls aren’t welcome in law school, she had more perseverance and guts than I. I also admire the way she managed to accomplish so much while being polite and tactful. Too late for me to change my ways, but plenty of time to admire someone who far exceeded my goals and did it her way.
She’s such an inspiration. I devoured the RBG biography.
