#1 bestselling author Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels are: “irresistible” (Houston Chronicle), “stunning” (Booklist), “outrageous” (Publishers Weekly), “brilliantly evocative” (The Denver Post), and “making trouble and winning hearts” (USA Today). New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don’t just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And … don’t just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don’t do what Tiki tells you to do.
After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie’s bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton’s premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it’s on Stephanie to track him down. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape . . . or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive. Since the hospital staff’s lips seem to be tighter than the security, and it’s hard for Stephanie to blend in to assisted living, Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur goes in undercover. But when a second felon goes missing from the same hospital, Stephanie is forced into working side by side with Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, in order to crack the case.
The real problem is, no Cubbin also means no way to pay the rent. Desperate for money—or maybe just desperate—Stephanie accepts a secondary job guarding her secretive and mouthwatering mentor Ranger from a deadly Special Forces adversary. While Stephanie is notorious for finding trouble, she may have found a little more than she bargained for this time around. Then again—a little food poisoning, some threatening notes, and a bridesmaid’s dress with an excess of taffeta never killed anyone . . . or did they? If Stephanie Plum wants to bring in a paycheck, she’ll have to remember: No guts, no glory.

I can’t believe that decades of Stephanie Plum’s antics have gone by. I love this franchise, and have read every one. Suspense, silliness, implied (mostly) sex, and the ongoing question–who will she chose, the handsome Latino Ranger, or her long-time Italian cop boyfriend from the neighborhood? And Grandma Mazur’s up to her usual tricks. Enjoy!
During these isolated days I have found Janet Evanovich. These books are creative, witty and laugh-out-loud funny. What a change from my usual who done it books. They have made my day on more than on occasion..
Always a delight to read as you never know what they will be up to!
I have read a number of the books in the Stephanie Plum series but this one was definitely entertaining. You can really imagine her characters as we have all experienced them in our lives and they are funny and memorable. Loved reading this one and getting ready to read some others.
I try to read one of Janet’s books every summer. Parts of it made me laugh out loud.
Fun series…..always look fwd to new one
Another funny Plum mystery. The characters are original and so funny yet one keeps wondering what happens next.
Stephanie Plum is always a great adventure. Fun to read.
I just love the characters.
I usually read mysteries or historical fiction which can get kind of heavy after a few books. There’s nothing better than Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum to totally improve your mood. There fast paced, easy to read and funny. Of course I’m from the northeast so I get the whole “Jersey Girl” thing.
If you enjoy her characters, then this is one more example of her two crazy bounty collectors at work.
Trite and contrived.
As with all of the books by this author, I really enjoyed all the characters and how it moves so fast. No time to think about anything else but what happens next.
Always the same-very enjoyable!
Lots of fun!
I love the entire Stephanie Plum Series. It’s a great easy read!
fast, fun, funny, read. Totally entertaining for a person who just needs an escape.
Very funny!
Enjoy all off her books
This series has the greatest characters. They are funny, sexy, wild, and a little bit crazy. I love everyone of them. I find myself laughing out loud where ever I am when I read this one. Stephanie is a bounty hunter with so much personality and 2 very sexy guys she works with. Also with a hamster who lives in a tomato soup can and a grandma that loves to attend funerals. What more could you want.
