Nothing Without You is part of the Kristen Proby crossover collection. I’m not familiar with Monica Murphy’s Forever Yours world, or Kristen Proby’s Big Sky world, in fact Monica Murphy is a new to me author.
Nothing Without You is a second chance romance, which I admit is one of my least favorite tropes. Thankfully this is written pretty well. I really liked the duel point of view, and the time we get with each character is pretty even. Maisey is a small town business owner, and Tucker the hometown hero big NFL star, who happens to be her high school sweetheart who broke her heart. Tucker is back in town for a family party after years of not being home. I wasn’t a huge fan of Tucker at first, in fact he seemed like a low key douche. He slowly brought me around. When it came time to admit his feelings for Maisey, I know they were there because I was told they were and had always been there, I didn’t actually feel it. It was the one part of his character that could of used some more attention. The chemistry between the two seemed to flow naturally, and the emotions were handled well as far as their past. That gave it a more realistic feel, which I enjoyed.
Overall it was a good quick read, perfect for an afternoon. Enough conflict to keep you interested, but not anything unnecessary. If you like second chance stories Nothing Without You is probably a good choice.

~ 4.5 Second Chance Stars ~
I want more!!! I didn’t get enough of Maisey and Tucker.
Nothing Without You is a novella in Kristen Proby’s Crossover Collection. But it is also a part of Monica’s Forever Yours Series. I thought this was a perfect gem for Kristen’s collection of stories. I loved being back in Cunningham Falls.
This novella is a second chance romance that is told in Dual POV. It is a standalone for each of these series. You don’t have to read any of Kristen’s Big Sky Series to enjoy this story. Also you don’t have to have read Monica’s Forever Yours series. You will want to go back and read about the rest of the characters once you have met Tucker and Maisey, that’s for sure!!!
My only negative was that it was too short. I know that is what a novella is, but I wanted more of Tucker and Maisey’s story. I wish this was a full length novel. But that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment I had while reading this book.
In this book we follow the reunion of Maisey and Tucker. High School sweethearts, but when Tucker gets accepted to his favorite college, he decides to break things off with Maisey. Maisey was devastated but picked herself up and is now the owner of Cake Nation in Cunningham Falls. Tucker has come home to Cunningham Falls for a family celebration, but wasn’t expecting the rush of feelings that came over him when he “bumped” into Maisey, quite literally. Can these two get on the same page and forget about past hurts?? Will they find a way back to each other?? Read this to find out.
I was so glad Maisey got her own story. I loved her character when we met her in Tempting Brooke, but I do feel that her and Tucker’s story was kind of left unfinished. This novella ended with a HFN ending. I am hoping somewhere down the line we might get to see this couple again and see them get their full HEA!!
I loved seeing Brooke again and getting to know Tucker’s family in this story.
I would recommend this romance to anyone who likes a second chance romance. If you have some time on your hands and are looking for that sweet, sexy and low drama romance story, this is it!! Pick it up, you won’t be sorry!!!
Letting go of the past isn’t always easy. This was a heartfelt, sweet, and heartwarming journey to go in with Tucker and Maisey. I enjoyed this story.
Short romance but big on feelings!
Football player Tucker McCloud is back in town and Maisey Henderson is too happy because she has made it a point to avoid to even talk about him after they broke up in high school. Tucker ended their relationship because he knew that long distance relationship wouldn’t work but when he returned to town for his parent’s anniversary, he knew he still had feelings for her but he wasn’t sure about Maisey’s.
I love Cunningham Falls, Montana, and any opportunity I get to visit it (albeit in books) I jump in! So seeing Maisey get her own story, I was thrilled!
Maisey and Tucker had been high school sweethearts, but college and careers separated them. Years later, Maisey has successfully started Cake Nation, while Tucker has made it in the NFL. He comes back for a visit and their chemistry is still there. But distance is still an issue for them.
I have read a few of Monica Murphy’s books before, and I very much enjoyed Nothing Without You. I wish there had been more, but for a novella, this was a complete story. The writing was done well, and the characters felt real. I look forward to more!
In Tempting Brooke, Brooke Henderson, the flower shop owner, was about to lose her shop because the new owner of the property thought of selling everything.
While Brooke was successful with her flowers, her sister made fame with her divine cakes.
But if Maisey’s professional life was well, her love life was in suspension. All because a few years ago, in high school to be more exact, she had her heart broken by her boyfriend who, when getting a scholarship, thanks to the sport, did not think twice to say goodbye to her.
Tucker McCloud, a football player, made fame and fortune. And now he was back in Cunningham Falls for a few days because of his mother’s birthday.
In a small town, it would be kind of hard for both of them not to bump, and that’s what happened on the local market.
Maisey is polite to him, but really did not want to rescue the old friendship; there was no room for that. Except she forgot to tell him that.
To get more in touch with her, Tucker takes advantage of the proximity of his parents’ wedding anniversary to throw a surprise party and hires Maisey to make one of her cakes.
As days go by, do they have time to stay together? Yes. But Tucker was just there as a visitor. His life was in California, while Maisey had no desire to live in the big city.
How would they solve this?

NOTHING WITHOUT YOU is instalment 2.5 in Monica Murphy’s contemporary, adult FOREVER YOURS erotic, romance series. This is thirty-four year old, pro football player Tucker McCloud, and thirty-three year old, cake decorator / designer Maisey Henderson’s story line. NOTHING WITHOUT YOU can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. FOREVER YOURS series is a spin-off from the author’s FRIENDS series.
NOTE: NOTHING WITHOUT YOU is part of Kristen Proby’s BIG SKY cross over series.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Maisey and Tucker) NOTHING WITHOUT YOU is a second chance romance between is thirty-four year old, pro football player Tucker McCloud, and thirty-three year old, cake decorator / designer Maisey Henderson. Tucker McCloud was Maisey Henderson’s high school sweetheart but a foot ball scholarship found Maisey on the sidelines, broken hearted and shredded when Tucker walked away without looking back. Fast forward to present day wherein Tucker McCloud is back in Cunningham Falls to celebrate his parent’s fortieth wedding anniversary, an anniversary that requires his interaction with our story line heroine. Still reeling from the betrayal and loss of her only love, Maisey struggles to see beyond the heart break and pain of years before. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Maisey and Tucker, and the potential fall-out as Tucker’s time in Cunningham Falls draws to a close.
NOTHING WITHOUT YOU is a story of broken hearts and second chances. Tucker McCloud knows he screwed up years before, and getting reacquainted with the only woman he has ever loved forces Tucker to look at the bigger picture, now and for the future. The premise is captivating; the romance is seductive and hot; the characters are colorful and energetic-the previous story line couples make cameo appearances.
This is a quick enjoyable read. I was drawn to this book because Maisey is a baker and Tucker is a football player. I do love sports heroes. I will be honest was not a huge fan of Tucker in the beginning, but he slowly won me over. I loved watching Maisey gain confidence in her craft of baking.
I kindly received an arc for an honest review
Tucker and Maisie were Highschool sweethearts, but he broke up with her as soon as he got his college scholarship and to get ready for the NFL.
Years later he comes back home for family celebrations and meets Maisie in the store. And wants her back…
Sweet story, quick read, I enjoyed this book!
Having learned about Nothing Without You through the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection, I’m coming into the Forever Yours series blind, but came out a fan! Monica Murphy did a great job jumping into the Big Sky world and I loved every second of it!
I met Maisey through Proby’s prior books in the Big Sky series and was thrilled to finally get her backstory & see her get her happily ever after! Although Tucker came off as arrogant at first, I loved how raw and real he was when he came to the realization that Maisey was it for him. Nothing Without You was such a fun & sexy second-chance romance and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series!
I loved seeing Jordan and Cannon and Lady Susanna.
I loved Tucker and Maisey. It’s a second chance romance book. It’s a short, sweet, quick read. Tucker and Maisey were high school sweethearts who ended things. Well Tucker choose football over Maisey because he didn’t think things would work between them. Now he’s famous and he’s back. I like that Tucker knows he wants Maisey back. I loved this sweet novella. I would recommend it.
Superstar NFL baller Tucker is back in Cunningham Falls, visiting his family. He’s been living a great life in California, with money & no shortage of women. But it’s starting to get old as his teammates settle down with their significant others. Running into his ex Maisey has made him realize what’s been missing from his life. But will she give him the time of day while still nursing her broken heart after he dumped her?
Having read all of Kristen’s books, to see characters from other books from different authors is pretty cool. I’m not familiar with Monica’s football series but now I’m going to have to look them up! This was a great, quick second chance read that will leave you wanting more from the Crossover collection!
This is such a sweet second chance romance. Maisey & Tucker were high school sweethearts until Tucker was offered a full scholarship for football and broke it off with her. Now more than ten years later Tucker is a big time football star and he walks into Maisey’s shop to have her make his parents anniversary cake. Will they be able to make this second chance work, or is it just a fun catch up before they go their separate ways again?
I love this whole series but def. love Maisey & Tucker especially after reading Maisey’s sisters story!
Nothing Without You is my first book to have read by this author, and I was really impressed with how great her writing is, I only wish i’d read more books by Monica before now. I absolutely love a second chance romance and this is totally up there with some of my favorites. I found that even though this is only a novella I was given enough information to get to really like Maisy and Tucker’s characters, and I really got to understand their connection with each other very well, I never once felt like anything was missing from their backstory by not having a longer build up to their HEA. This was a really great read that I enjoyed very much. It’s sweet, it’s funny, it’s a bit angsty but most of all it’s a hot romance that I just couldn’t put down. Some really great writing that made for a very enjoyable afternoons reading.
Nothing Without You is a fantastic second chance romance. I love how Monica Murphy merged her world in the NFL with Kristen Proby’s. She did a fantastic job painting the picture of childhood sweethearts brought back together. I love Maisey and Tucker. You feel the both the love and pain they both experienced as young love as they reconnect. This was such a beautiful story and the ending stole my heart. I couldn’t put this one down. It may have been a quick read but it was so filled with healing and heart.
Nothing Without You is a Forever Yours/Big Sky Novella (Kristen Proby Crossover Collection book 5) written by Monica Murphy.
This book takes place in the Big Sky community of Cunningham Falls, Montana and brings back a character (Maisey Henderson- Brooke’s sister) from a previous Big Sky novella- Tempting Brooke. Maisey Henderson, is a cake designer/decorator and a resident in Cunningham Falls, MT. She has struggled off and on since high school, but has built a successful small business. Maisey has been unlucky in love ever since her break-up with her childhood sweetheart, Tucker. Tucker McCloud, left Cunningham Falls to attend his dream college and start a career in the NFL. After of years of being away from home and realizes he wants to reconnect with his former love. This novella is filled with love, regret, friendship, family and second chances.
This was the first exposure I’ve had reading a book by this author, but I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. The story flows and engulfs you with wonderful developed characters from the very beginning. I truly didn’t want this novella to end. I was super excited for this Crossover Collection when it was announced, but was a little worried that having another author contribute to an already favorite series of mine might not work out. This was not an issue at all and I loved the book as much as if Kristen Proby wrote the story herself. This novella is a wonderful addition to the Big Sky series. As well, I can’t wait to read some of Monica Murphy’s books in the future. I think it was a win-win for the authors and readers alike.
So Fun, Sweet & Charming! This was a entertaining, second chance Romance that was so cute, fast paced read, that had a lot of heart, sassy and spunky dialogue and the perfect amount of heat. Loved it
I loved Maisey Henderson and Tucker McCloud so much! The ease and the back and forth they had with each other, after all their time apart is delightful. I loved the pull they had, the great conversations and sassy, witty, dialogue. It had me hooked. They were just so fun together. I was so charmed by Tucker. I thought they were great characters and I loved all the tension and animosity between them. Loved the build to the heat as well, as these two just can’t stop thinking about the other. It was very swoon worthy. Don’t pass this story by!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Nothing without You is a novella in the Kristen Proby Crossover Collection. This story crosses Monica Murphy’s Forever Yours series with Kristen’s Big Sky series. I have read and loved each of series’ so I was dying to get my hands on this collection.
Tucker (Forever Yours) is an NFL Star but more importantly he was Maisey’s (Big Sky) first and only love. He broke her heart before he left for college and they haven’t seen each other since. Now, he is back in Cunningham Falls a little over ten years later. And the minute he sees her again, he wants a second chance. He never forgot her. She never forgot him. The sparks are still there. So is the hurt. Can she let go of the past and let him in again?
Awe!! I do love a good second chance romance. I really do and this one is fantastic. She is a strong and independent business woman who doesn’t just give into the hottest guy in Cunningham Falls. Tucker is that for sure, in this book anyway. They grow them beautifully there. Lol. Anyway, he is more than a hot football player. He is sweet, funny, and determined.
Overall…it’s a fast read with lots of heart, sexiness, cake, and family.
Quotes:
Maisey at sixteen had stolen my heart, but this version of Maisey could probably steal my damn soul if I don’t watch it.
No, my body is tingling from Tucker’s kiss. From his touch. A few stolen moments in the lake and my body is aching for more.
“You were beautiful. You still are. And you were so damn smart. You made me laugh. You made me do things I never would’ve done.”
“Like go to a craft fair.”
Spoiler Alert…Nothing Without You is my very first read from Monica Murphy! I enjoyed this sweet second-chance romance.
There was something so sweet about Maisey and it wasn’t her cakes. It was the way she tried to help everyone. Her kindness. The way she built her business from the ground up. But she was lonely. And when the boy who had broke her heart comes back to town as all man, she can’t stop staring. Even though she wants to. Even though she knows letting Tucker into her life isn’t a good idea. He can’t stay away and she can’t not spend time with him when he asks.
I liked that Tucker had to work for it. That Maisey didn’t make it easy on him. She didn’t make it too hard either though. These two were just meant to be and there was nothing that would keep them apart, especially something as measly as distance.
3.5 stars
I love a good second-chance romance. Maisie and Tucker were high school sweethearts that reconnect many years later. Reading about how this couple will navigate feelings, history, old hurts, and so much more was interesting. They had great interactions and you can definitely see how right they were together. I enjoyed seeing it all play out. Tucker and Maisie were fine characters and I liked seeing the connections from the two worlds merging. Nothing without You was a sweet and easy read that I enjoyed and liked.
