Reagan Reynolds…Water polo god.Owner of a face that belongs under Wikipedia’s definition of drop dead gorgeous.Too charming for his own good.But most importantly––the worst driver on the planet.No, really, I’m pretty sure his blind nana taught him how to drive.I had no idea who he was until he almost ran me over. And frankly, I kind of wish I still didn’t because then I wouldn’t have a sprained … because then I wouldn’t have a sprained ankle to show for it. And my leg wouldn’t resemble a boa constrictor that’s swallowed a feral pig.
Yeah, it’s that bad.
I’ve spent years saving every penny I’ve ever earned to be able to transfer to Malibu University. And now my entire future––including my scholarship––is in jeopardy.
So I either accept the help he insists on giving me, or lose everything I’ve sacrificed for.
In the meantime, I’m going to ignore the fact that we’re becoming friends.
And I’m definitely going to pretend he’s not turning into the object of my…umm, dirty fantasies.
That’s not happening.
Not even a little.
Because the minute I clapped eyes on him I knew he was nothing but trouble.

I am not at all surprised that P. Dangelico had me in tears. Given my track record with her books, it was inevitable built I honestly thought I was doing okay. Then bam! She sideswiped me. Maybe I should back up…
Nothing But Trouble is everything!!!!!! I know I say this a lot but this story had all the feels, the fun, and the snark. Maybe it’s because I’m a Jersey girl or maybe it’s because Alice is a strong, sassy take no shit kind of girl, either way I’m hooked. Alice is my hero.
What I failed to mention, and I apologize, is this ridiculously gorgeous cover. This smirking god among men with the eyes that could make any woman do something stupid has been taunting me since the cover reveal. I’m not even sure he’s real but he is absolutely what I picture when I think of Reagan (with some interspersed lighter highlights because prolonged sun exposure). He’s everything Reagan is. It’s funny because I often scoff at the cover models and argue whether or not they fit a character. In this case I can’t tell if P. Dangelico created him or created Reagan to be him!
Reagan is the guy you crush on but have no intention of acting upon said crush. Alice is every girl in this book. Their awkward truce and resulting friendship is legit. It’s awkward. It’s tense but it’s also every good thing in their lives.
Some people go looking for trouble. Others are trouble. Trouble, this kind of trouble, is worth every heartache. From unrequited to unconditional, every feeling, every hope is real and raw. Nothing But Trouble is only the beginning though. P. Dangelico has many more stories to share, or else!
I can’t wait to see what everyone else is up to in and out of the pool!
Alice has worked her tail off to get into Malibu University. And then water polo king/god among men runs her over and suddenly her fantasized about life is looking like it’s over. Reagan was raised in an entitled, moneyed atmosphere, but his raising hid secrets. And it’s those secrets that make him aware that he shouldn’t be starting anything with the beautiful spitfire he ran over. He can’t seem to help falling, though…
I absolutely LOVE Nothing But Trouble!!! Reagan and Alice are sooo good together and I fell for both of them, especially Alice. She’s smart, sassy and strong and unafraid to call Reagan out on his bs. Her chemistry with him, from early days in their friendship when it was obvious where their relationship was heading, down to the very last page when Reagan walked back into Alice’s life, not a page went by that I didn’t devour. Ohhhh speaking of, the only problem I had with Nothing But Trouble was that he didn’t grovel nearly enough at the end. If I had been Alice, I would have required some serious ass-kissing and more than a pound of chocolate before I even thought of speaking to him again. But that’s just me, I can be a vindictive bitch when I’m scorned…aside from that, though, everything else was perfect about Alice and Reagan’s story. It’s fun and witty but not lacking in emotional and character depth, and has the electric chemistry that all good, make that GREAT, romance requires. P. Dangelico is becoming one of my favorite authors, and with Nothing But Trouble she’s fast moving up that favorites list!
***4.5 Stars***
Talk about slow burn goodness!
This one pulled out all the stops and then some.
I laughed, I growled, I swooned and I really want to spend more time with this cast of diverse and unique characters and find out what makes them all tick!
I loved and adored Reagan and Alice. Reagan is all kinds of sweet, golden hearted goodness. It may not appear that way, I mean the man is something of a golden god *smirks*, but he has a good and honorable soul that comes through in his actions time and time again. Alice is a fighter. She has a goal, a dream that she’s always wanted, and works hard every day to achieve that goal. She definitely has a stubborn streak, but she isn’t about to cut off her nose to spite herself. She’s sassy, sweet and is very true to herself and her heart.
To say I enjoyed their slow burn romance is an understatement, I loved it! From their first collision (which is quite literal) to watching as they slowly became friends and struggled to keep their attraction to each other solely in the friend zone, it was all kinds of goodness. Their bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was hot. Now, not everything goes smoothly, but even I didn’t see that one coming. It was heartbreaking, though understandable, and while I would have liked a tinsy more grovelling (Ya’ll know how much I love grovelling) I can’t deny that I loved how everything worked out for them in the end).
This wasn’t only a great read, but also a great first in series. I loved how we got introduced to all the characters and the little teases of what MAY be coming in future books. Zoe, Blake, Dora, Brock, Dallas, Cole and Quinn were a lot of fun, though Dora is my fav ATM, and I am totally looking forward to getting to know them all better!

I am completely unable to resist a well-done slightly angsty, new adult slow burn. When done right, these books completely pull me into their orbit and do not let me go until I turn the very last page (and sometimes even longer). I feel like I’m a part of the story, wholly invested in the characters, with my heart along for every peak and valley on the road to love.
In case you were wondering? Nothing But Trouble was one of those books for me. Gah! I was so addicted to it! Held captive to Ms. Dangelico’s words from the banter-filled meet-cute to the emotion-filled happy ending. This is only my second book by this author, but it’s enough to mark her as the “real deal” for me, because for the second time? She delivered a book I didn’t ever want to put down.
The burn was perfect. Alice and Reagan’s friendship was charged with sparky heat from the very beginning and even as they worked so hard to keep each other at arms length, they steadily lost their hearts and took mine right along with it. I loved their friendship. I loved their adorable, playful banter. I loved the way they loved each other, even when it hurt. Simply put: I loved them both so freaking much!
I also loved the complexity and depth that Ms. Dangelico gave these characters. There are some hard hitting emotional punches delivered along the way, and they only served to draw me in deeper, and wrap my heart more firmly around Alice and Reagan both as individuals and as a couple. It was a compelling story – even beyond the romance.
On top of all these things, sports romance is one of my all time favorite tropes to read, and yet I’ve never read a water polo story before. Now? I. Am. Hooked. I mean, the water polo itself is obviously not the main piece of the story, but what I got of it was interesting and fun to read and the guys on the team? They were drool-worthy, fun, and hilarious – in all the same ways that make other sports romance such a pleasure to read. I loved this so much, and cannot wait to get more in future stories.
All this is to say, Nothing But Trouble is a fantastic kick-off to the Malibu University series. My heart ached and burned and fluttered furiously over the course of Alice and Reagan’s story and I am beyond excited to get my hands on more where this came from! ~ 4.5 Stars
Great storyline with warm characters.
Falling For Trouble
He seemed like nothing more than a cliche, this sexy jock was going to change everything she thought she knew. The guy that almost ran her down with his car, was going to steal her heart and change her life. A friends-to-lovers romance with ALL THE HEAT and some emotional heartache.
Alice was the girl driven with her plan for the future. A film student chasing her dream, while working to pay for it too. Until some hot water polo player changes everything.
An accident leaves Reagan feeling guilty. Since he derailed Alice’s life, he insists on helping her out and forces his way in.
She’s not his type. He can’t handle any distractions. He has no time for a girlfriend and Alice is the kind of girl that deserves your everything.
Friends. That’s all they’ll ever be. That was the agreement.
They said just friends…too bad they can’t seem to stay away from each other. Their mutual attraction is undeniable even if they pretend it’s not there. And when they finally decide that they are more than friends, it’s explosive.
This story was so much more than I expected. Reagan is more complex than I first thought. He showed his vulnerability and strength. As he sheds his college jock persona, you’ll fall in love even more.
The author delivered on the sexual tension in spades. It was a slow burn up until they finally gave in and it was HOT! There was also family drama and heartache. The characters were multi-layered and I enjoyed each new discovery as each layer was peeled back to give us more.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series. So many great srcondary character that have their own story’s to tell!
Five “god” stars! This book is a big deal…
OMFG! What a diamond of a book is Nothing but Trouble by P. Dangelico. It is the most wonderful College-Friends-to-Lovers-Romance I had the pleasure to read. It is a intense journey with some slow-burn touches that made my heart explode like 4th July fireworks. I loved every little thing about this masterpiece. It has all my favourite tropes packed in a enticing and compelling authenticity that commands and owns you from the first page.
Alice and Reagan’s story is a perfect blend of witty and angst. A story born in friendship and consumed in tempting romance. Two different people. Two different souls but two similar hearts. They didn’t know each other in spite of going to Malibu University. Alice is doing everything to keep her scholarship that will be on jeopardy because of a water polo god. She is an independent and a fierce young woman. She is career focused and she will keep it that way even if that means to accept the help of mentioned water polo god. She won’t lose what she worked for. Accepting Reagan’s help will be an epic friendship fail. Her sassy mouth and attitude made her unique. Alice will become Reagan’s challenge without noticing. Both will be in the friend zone but…
How can you be friend of the water polo god when he is the object of your wicked fantasies? Lusting after the one person you are forbidden to lust after. A fail friendship. A love born in scorching hot attraction. The big real deal…
Reagan is the epitome of a book boyfriend. He is charming, handsome, swoon-worthy and rich. His stalkerish methods were kind of sweet and like a natural competitor, he lives for the challenge and Alice set it on silver plate for him. He is a fixer. His level of responsibility is out the charts as his loyalty. He is one good guy. He is not only a pretty face and hot body. He is sweet and understanding. There was something endearing about him being like a lost puppy trying to get Alice’s attention.
It was a delicious torture to see the evolution of both characters. From unknown souls to friends. From friends to lovers. From lovers to soulmates. It makes them such a great couple. Charming, sarcastic, and a penchant for easy and brutal honesty makes them crave things they’d never considered before. Companionship, affection, stability, someone to belong to.
The story flows brilliantly and it is poetically addictive. Each page made me ache for more. Every turn and twist made me crave more. P. Dangelico’s writing made this story unfolds like a sweet tempting symphony. Nothing but Trouble is nothing but flawless perfection. It is written with authenticity and the storyline is unique and different. It is a breath of fresh air. The author created two characters for whom are perfectly suited yet weren’t anywhere near ready to meet that perfect match.
I undoubtedly recommend you this book. Alice and Reagan stole a piece of my heart. I loved their friendship. I loved their playful banter. I loved the way they loved each other, even when it hurt. Nothing but Trouble is the real deal. What a way to start the Malibu Series. To simply put it: I loved everything about this book so much.
Nothing But Trouble was so much fun thanks to the impeccable writing from P. Dangelico. Her humor just works for me. Guys in Speedo’s and water polo – hell yes.
Alice and Reagan’s first meeting sets the tone for this wonderful friends to lovers romance. Alice doesn’t bite her tongue around Reagan and tells it like it is. He pushes her buttons and it serves up amazing and sizzling chemistry. They complement each other perfectly.
Reagan’s friends and roommates are definitely intriguing and so are Alice’s leaving me very very excited for the upcoming books in Malibu University series.
Nothing But Trouble is a good time but it also deals with some serious topics such as addiction and depression which suits the story great. This NA series kicked off with a bang and I’m already salivating for more.
4 Jersey & Flipper Stars
When Alice Bailey meets waterpolo hottie Reagan Reynolds she is not impressed by his driving style; she hurts her ankle when she has to jump out of his (car’s) way. Reagan however is immediately intrigued by Alice and – after some hickups – a beautiful friendship evolves. But is friendship all they want?
Loved this story! Alice and Reagan are both well fleshed out. Both have their own struggles and fears. Reagan with his older brother Brian, who is addicted and has been abandoned by their wealthy parents. I was so touched by this storyline. The friendship between Reagan and Alice was real and the evolving love story as well.
Another winner for me by Paola Dangelico. Her slow burn books tick all my boxes. Totally enjoyed this one and must admit I hope for a Dallas/Dora story (and some extra glimpses of Reagan/Alice). (2019)
The story was engaging and fun. Perfect reading for the summer.
FULL review posted on my book blog (Kali’s Book Reviews)!
The twists and turns of Reagan and Alice’s story left me a mess by the end of the book, crying both sad and happy tears out of the same ducts and not knowing which way the safe end of the pool was. I’m not going to sugarcoat this ish, though: this book decimated my heart with the last chapter. I mean straight up took-its-innocence-and-didn’t-even-bother-to-call-it-again level of destruction. I won’t recover from this thing anytime soon for a variety of reasons.
Without giving too much away, the issue of addiction is dealt with and it hits home hard because we have recently had to deal with a loved one’s drug problems plus the fallout of them. It doesn’t matter how much you love an addict, it’s effing hard and not for the faint of heart. My hat’s off to every single one of you all out there who are trying to buoy an addict and keep them and you afloat (in multiple ways).
The ending… I legit wanted to punch my Kindle in its lying face near the end because I knew, I just knew, that couldn’t be how things were left. The epilogue put me somewhat out of my misery, but I’ve still got the tear tracks burned into my cheeks and my soul from it. This is definitely a book ending that woke me up and reminded me that HEA isn’t always an easy or quick route to go, but is so welcome at the end of a rough journey.
That being said, I also wanted to scratch out the eyes of the character who ended up breaking my heart later in the book because of the way they handled things. Don’t worry: they redeemed themselves eventually with me, but I sure as heck ain’t ready to put it all that turbulent water under the bridge just yet.
Now that I’ve mercilessly teased you, aren’t you just chomping at the bit to connect the dots with what breadcrumbs I’ve left you, my little ducklings? I would be In fact, after you finish this review, I think you should go put us both out of our misery and get cracking on those pages, honey! I wanna see if it shook you as much as it shook me #shamelessplug #pagepeerpressure #bookpimp
My call for my first ever read of Miss Paola’s? 5 glistening stars floating in the sea of my heart! I really love this author’s style, her wit, her ability to do slow burn in all the right ways, and for creating a series that reminds me why I wait and binge-read series usually: I am going to go bat-ish crazy waiting on the other books of the series to drop! Speaking of crazy… I can’t wait to devour the other MU stories, but Brock Peterman has my heart and I will be waiting with baited breath for that one. That man is EVERYTHING! Cole is hilarious (and naughty, naughty, naughty). Dallas is wild as a buck—the kind you want to break in reeeeeeaaaaaaaally good But Brock? He’s the kind of man that you’d want to make yours forever and always He’s not a silly frat boy or dumb college dude who’s into everything he shouldn’t be. He’s a man—a real man—and God bless him for it I’ve officially added him to my coveted Book Boyfriend status and I’ve not even read his story yet. He’s even already made his way onto my list of All-Time Top 5 BBs, contending with Jack Quinn and Clutch Mason, the co-crowned kings of my book-loving heart throne It’s serious, y’all… China patterns serious. I’m not done with that mythical creature by a long shot! Now, I just need a shirt that says “Brock Rocks ” or “My Belongs to Brock” Maybe “PK’s Princess “?
DISCLAIMER: I received an ARC for an honest review 😉 P. Dangelico
OH MY GOD THIS BOOK. SWEET BABY J. IM IN LOVE. (Shouty capitals are very much needed right now.)
When I came across this book I knew it was one I was going to love. Give me a enemies/friends to lovers and I’m putty in your hands and this beauty, this beauty was a mixture of both. A little enemies and a lot friends, it’s such a thrilling read and I’m in awe right now.
This books starts out with an almost accident that ends up with these two becoming friends. Raegan and Alice are so much fun and opposites on the social scale. Raegan is rich, his family are rich and they love to flaunt it in peoples faces but not Raegan, he’s down to earth, handsome and cares about the people he loves. Alice is just scraping by, she has to count the pennies but she’s happy. She’s kind and caring and at times shy. After a near accident has her off of her feet for a few weeks things slowly tumble downhill for her. It’s intriguing to see what she’ll do next.
Watching these two becoming friends is fun, she’s so resistant and he’s so determined. It’s push and pull and it’s a laugh. This story is one I loved from the minute I started it and couldn’t put it down.
This is my first read from this author and I have to say, if her other books are anything like this then I’m going to become addicted pretty damn quickly.
Nothing But Trouble was fun, quirky and addicting. It’ll capture your thoughts from the get go. Everyone and everything around you will become a blur as it consumes your every thought and you’ll love every second.
Reagan run my over any day!!
I luvd this book so much. I found this author through one of my friends and I’m so glad I did. I’ve luvd all her books so far so I was dying to get stuck into it. From the start I was hooked the story was just brilliant college sport romance is one of my favourite go to reads. I just know this is goin to end up being one of the best series. The characters that haven’t even got books yet are brilliant. I need there books now I’m so looking forward to this series.
Reagan God where do I start with this sexy guy. He has everything goin him he has money, woman that are dying to be with him, he’s sexy is hell, he’s captain of the water polo team and he has a great future planned. There isn’t much this guy doesn’t have. But there is something family. His family are hard work his mum and dad are just crappy people. They put so much pressure on him but no one know what he has to deal with. Reagan just shows what he wants the world to see. When he nearly runs over the sexy girl that is Alice Bailey things change, everything changed, even he changed.
Alice is a simple girl. She doesn’t ask for much all she wants is to go to Mailbu to school to do to film scholarship she has been DYING to do. That she has saved for forever. Every penny has got has gone into her equipment and scholarship. Her parents don’t have money like that so she has done crappy jobs to get way she is and it was worth it all. She sees life so different to a lot of people and it’s refreshing. When she meets Reagan Reynolds things start to go a lil downhill. Well him nearly running her over was the best start. But then she couldn’t get rid off him but she didn’t want him gone either.
This book is just the best. I really enjoyed it this author and her books are becoming one of my favourites. I fall for her characters all the time and her stories they suck you up into them. There were a few twists I didn’t see coming in this story I was a lil shocked. But it made the book even better. I luvd that it was dual pov I enjoy getting into both of there heads. Both main characters have had there fair share of bumps but they make the perfect couple you probably would put them together but there so good together. The other characters were just as good like I said I’m dying for a few of these stories so I really hope they go the way I they will. I would highly recommend this book. I luvd everything about about it I really looking forward to more of this series.
I loved this book! Slow burning, witty, fun, a little YA angst, harried college life, and some hunky guys practicing sports in tiny Speedo’s. It’s all yum!
Alice arrives at Malibu University decided and determined. Her dream is to be a cinematographer, and to that end, she has her precious camera equipment, some savings, a job, and grit. Her car died on her upon arrival but she perseveres and trudges on the hills of Malibu until a crazy driver almost runs her down. It turned out to be Reagan Reynolds, captain of the water polo team, and as he himself said, “kind of a big deal” on campus. He took her to a doctor to check her ankle and all the time Alice snarked at him and it was comical. Love the witty banter that this author writes!
The story is a typical YA plot, full of feelings, lust, miscommunications, parental pressure and expectations, etc. Alison’s stressors were her lack of funds due to her sprained ankle and being unable to work. Reagan has on his shoulders multiple pressures: the water polo team, getting accepted into medical school, deal with a drug-addict brother who has been cast off by the parents, and deal with his father’s expectations. His parents are horrible persons who only care about appearances and cast his druggie brother out of their lives like so much garbage. Reagan is full of love and caring and is over-extending with so many concerns he wants to carry.
This was a fast, easy and compelling read. I love YA stories and this one was a perfect example of the genre. Young adults on the verge of adulthood, sometimes carrying loads heavier than they should because of their circumstances. On the edge of becoming adults, they are dealing as best they can, and they have friends who help. I can’t wait for the next stories on the roommates!
Alice is off to college and will be on her own for the first time in Malibu. She worked so hard for the scholarship she landed and knows what is at stake. So she makes sure that she sets herself up for success. Until she has to dive off the sidewalk to keep from being hit by a Jeep.
The first thing she knows there is someone to help her and she tells him quickly she doesn’t want police involved or medical care. She knows that she can’t afford it especially after her $3k clunker crapped out on her after two days. Hence the walking to school.
Less does she realize she just met someone she wouldn’t soon forget. He tried to help her as much as he can but she denies any help other than the Water Polo doctor who could look at her ankle. Luckily the Captain of the team, Reagan, is there to help her. Even though she says she doesn’t want help he can’t help but want to help her since he caused her to be injured but she is super quick to tell him to buzz off.
Like a dog with a bone Reagan can’t help but constantly think of her and how he can help her. So he sends out the word for the phone tree within the team and housemates to try to find Alice. She has no footprint on social media and nothing on the school social website. She is like a ghost. Until he remembered she said she was a film major.
He is quick to help her even though she doesn’t want it. They quickly start spending more and more time together and they see what it could be. IF they were a couple.
There was soooo much sexual tension between these two especially later on in the book. And as much as I love some good sexual tension to make things even spicier it became a bit much when neither one of them would just say how they felt. It because super annoying that the book went on and on and on about how the felt for each other but no one would say anything. Until FINALLY they spoke up about it. There was a fair amount of back and forth with these two and as much as I loved their banter back and forth there was a bit too much with the not saying anything bit.
I loved how these two had their pasts and their presents and what issues lay within those times. Everyone has these which makes them even more relatable. I really appreciated how much the issues at hand are something that has touched someone at one point or another within their lives!
My heart was absolutely broken for Alice and for Reagan. Even though there was fault in one place, it’s understandable but sucks the way things happened.
I am so excited about the next installment in this series I can hardly wait!!
5.5 Stars
I’m so excited about this new series, Malibu University, and the first book Nothing But Trouble exceeded all my expectations! I’ve grown weary of a lot NA books the older I get and some have even made me grind my teeth, out of frustration with ‘the young’uns shenanigans’ (gawd, I feel like a fuddy-duddy sometimes!) but I absolutely loved this story! It’s a SlowBurn, friends-to-lovers angsty romance and the main characters were mature, way beyond their age; that alone had me tipping my imaginary hat off to them. And with incredible secondary characters, I can’t wait to see whose story is next in the series!
Alice Bailey left New Jersey to attend Malibu University because of its film school. The daughter of a US Postal Service employee she relied on going to community college and applying for a scholarship, unlike her wealthy and privileged classmates. She was also unaware that the school had a world famous Water Polo league, and the athletes were almost considered demigods; especially the idiot that almost ran her over, after her junker of a car broke down and she was left walking to school. And now she has a sprained ankle, according to the team doctor the idiot insisted check her out. She refuesed to go to the ER, she had no money to pay for an expensive visit.
“Did you just call me big dick?”“What? No. No, I called you BD as in Big Deal. Remember when we met and you said you were ‘kind of a big deal’?”
Reagan Reynolds is a star on the water polo team, and as a trust fund child he was drilled by his parents to be distrustful of people that might want to take advantage of him. He’s concerned Alice might want to sue him for damages, after he accidentally runs her off the road, and has her checked out mostly out of guilt. But his gut tells him she’s not looking for a payoff and is kinda put off by the way she blows him off. It’s almost like she doesn’t know who he is! Reagan is going to graduate this year and then transfer to UCLA, where he’s expected to attend medical school and become a doctor; it’s the family business and it’s something he really doesn’t want to do. His older brother refused to follow their footsteps and now all the pressure is on him.
When Reagan discovers Alice is fired from her job and might have to sell one of her precious and hard earned cameras, he decides to help her out. Reagan offers her friendship but he makes it perfectly clear he doesn’t have time for a relationship, and Alice reluctantly accepts his help and doesn’t mind being friend zoned, at first. But it soon evolves into more than that, something they don’t want to admit. Something everyone around them sees plain as day.
“Nobody tells you that heartache is not a one and done deal. It happens in small, slow increments every day. A hairline fracture that compounds, branches until it becomes a map of all the pain you’ve endured. Until there’s nothing left of your heart other than a few sharp pieces you can’t keep together.”
These two begin to trust and share so much with each other and they discover that they’ve both experienced so much heartache and heartbreak. And unfortunately there’s so much more to come, unexpected surprises and pain to go through, before we get to the very happy end.
“I just don’t know how to stop feeling like a walking gunshot victim, with a smoking hole where my heart used to be.”
4.5 Stars
Alice Bailey has worked tirelessly to be able to transfer into Malibu University as a film major. She is a long way from home, and the people seem almost like another species entirely, but she is where she needs to be to achieve her dream… and she won’t let anything get in her way…
Reagan Reynolds is a water polo superstar at Malibu U. He is also rich, sexy and on his way to med school. In other words, completely wrong for a girl like Alice. But, after he practically runs her over, the super popular Reagan finds himself fighting for a chance to see Alice again… and for her to give him the time of day…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nothing But Trouble was a refreshingly fun read that at the same time was also heartfelt and incredibly genuine. Alice and Reagan’s story was an enchanting slow burn romance that resonated long after it’s final page…
Alice has recently relocated from New Jersey as a college transfer to attend film school in Malibu. With a lot riding on her academic success and her ability to financially supplement her full scholarship, getting injured is something she just can’t afford. But, she is nothing if not a fighter, so she’ll figure it out… preferably without the attention of THE Reagan Reynolds…
On the surface Reagan has it all. From his talent in the pool and his legions of fans, to his wealthy upbringing and his future in med school. Meeting Alice, who is completely unimpressed with all things Reagan Reynolds, holds him fascinated, but when she is there for him when he needs support, his desire to spend all of his time with her grows into so much more…
I loved this book so much, it showed a rare take on a college age romance, with the focus of forming lasting friendships and taking people as they are, the characters were so far removed from the usual superficial college kids we are typically given in this particular trope.
Alice was just the best. She was always a lot of fun, and at the same time an admirable and fascinating character. I especially couldn’t get enough of her encounters with Reagan, where she refused to give him an inch of special treatment. And her dedication to her success in school and her future in filmmaking was truly an inspiring trait.
Reagan was such a well-adjusted and considerate man… especially considering what he he came from. He never used his popularity on campus as an excuse to be anything less than a nice guy who wanted to spend as much time as he could with Alice.
With her talent for writing brilliantly authentic, multi-faceted characters and unique stories that you haven’t seen before, the incredibly talented P. Dangelico has delivered yet another fantastic must read book in Nothing But Trouble.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Nothing But Trouble is a good read. Reagan is a water polo player for Malibu University. Alice is a new transfer student to Malibu University. She’s has struggled to get there and has plans. Their paths cross when Reagan pretty much hit her with his car. She ends up with a sprained ankle. Alice is feisty. She doesn’t want to take help from Reagan. Reagan on the surface looks like a rich kids that has everything but he really has layers. Reagan is a good guy. I liked how Alice wasn’t throwing herself all over Reagan. Alice goes from fighting with Reagan to a nice friendship to more. Reagan has a lot going on. He has exceptions from his father and a brother who’s struggling with demon. There were parts that I felt I needed more information in. The ending was good but I still wanted more. I’m kind of hooked on the water polo guys and can’t wait to read the next one.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, I’ll definitely be keeping a look out for book 2 in this series. There’s secrets to be unveiled in the roommates lives.
Reagan and Alice are so blind to keeping a friendship they can’t see or sense each others true feelings. I felt they both needed a kick up the butt for about 60% of the book.
‘Nothing But Trouble’ is the first book that I have read by P Dangelico, and I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. Like most new to me authors, I worry incase I can’t adapt to a new writing style, but with this book it was certainly not the case.
Dangelico writes in a way that is easily to become immersed in, and I loved her character depictions and plot twists. This was a great start to a series I very much want to embrace.
Alice is sassy, sweet and I instantly took to her as a character. She has some very funny retorts and is sharp and quick witted. When she encounters Reagan Reynolds, it’s through the unfortunate event of a car accident that leaves Alice injured, and Reagan unable to shake the girl that ‘appeared different’ and gave him the instant brush off.
She plagues his dreams and he is unable to shake her, determine to make right what he may have done to her. His guilt sparks a friendship that very much is a slow burning romance. With both of them certain they are to remain friend zoned, their bond is able to grow and the chemistry is undeniable.
I love the depth of the characters in this book. You have Alice who is into making films and Reagan who is a med student with all the traits of a jock.
Their witty sparring is off the chart and I loved Reagan so much. This is a must read for all romance
Lovers. I’d highly recommend.
