Nothing but Trouble by Ashley Bostock is book one of the Irresistible Billionaires series. I hadn’t read any books by this author previously but I really enjoyed this book.
Michael is a workaholic so when he needs a date to the Valentine’s Day gala, he makes a profile on his dating website to find the right girl. What he didn’t expect was finding Sophia. Sophia is intelligent, beautiful and independent and very intriguing to Michael. The plan was only one date. However, by the end of the night, Sophia and Michael find themselves in a fake engagement. Michael doesn’t do long term. Will Sophia be able to keep her feelings in check?
Michael and Sophia both have things that they need to deal with but don’t really think they need to. There were definitely some emotional ups and downs that really pull you into the story. I can’t wait to read the next book.

This is my second book by this author and I enjoyed this one much more than the first. This was a fun read and I enjoyed the characters. I read this in one sitting because it flowed so nicely.
Michael owns a matchmaking website and needs a date for an event, although his grandmother usually handles this he decides to create a fake profile on his own site and ends up getting a hit by the lovely Sophia. These quick fixes are all he needs in life since being left at the altar by his ex and his determination to never get married.
Sophia is doing all she can to become a nurse. She cares for her grandmother who is not well and works as hard as she can to make ends meet. She meets this man on the dating site she is registered on and decides to accept a date to an event he is attending.
They seem to really hit it off online and when they meet the first time and Sophia realizes that this isn’t just any man, but the man that owns the company how does she react?
At the gala Michaels ex shows up and it is an uncomfortable situation and Sophia comes in to save the day, and this changes the course of both of their lives from this point forward.
I sincerely enjoyed this book and the few twists and turns to be had along the way made the little bit of predictable totally unpredictable.
I can not wait to read more by this author!

“I have a feeling you will change your mind. And when you do, I will be back to hike your pretty little ass over my shoulder and carry you out of this place.”
A sweet and little heart-warming story, of a woman just trying to survive and do what she can and a man who is on top of the world with a tainted view on what it takes to be happy and how they manage to affect each other in the most unexpected way, comes to life in Ashley Bostock’s latest novel, Nothing But Trouble, the first book of the Irresistible Billionaires series.
She captures the essence of unconditional love so perfectly and how easily a cruel person can ruin something beautiful.
We meet Sophia, a quiet and withdrawn woman, who focuses her life around her ill grandmother who she loves more than life itself. She does what she can to both follow her dream of becoming a nurse and at the same time to make sure her grandmother is taken care of. Deciding to accept a nearly complete stranger, who she just met online, and his request to be his date for one night to a gala on Valentine’s Day, she doesn’t expect much, but of course her life is thrown a little of it’s axis when she finally meets the handsome stranger.
Michael Vilander is a self made billionaire, the fact that he’s a rich man because of a dating website, doesn’t in any sense of the word, help him find a decent date for the fundraising gala that is quickly approaching. Deciding to try his hand on his own website he stumbles on a sweet smiling woman just as he was about to log off and give up on any successful candidate. After spending hours chatting, she eventually agrees to be his date.
The story starts off a little slow but it gets more exciting as you move on. There are particularly sweet and hopeful moments where you smile along with the characters and moments when you feel like shouting in frustration.
It’s a romantic little novel that is sure to make you go a little crazy at times, but mostly just sweet enough to keep you drawn in.
I just loved this story. Sophia and Michael are very interesting characters.
Michael needs date the Denver Arts Foundation’s Annual Valentine’s Day Gala and decide to create a fake profile on his own matchmaking website. Then he meets Sophia and they both get along right from the start.
They meet in person the night of the Gala, and the attraction is immediate, but they are only together for one night.
When Michael’s ex appears, Sophia defends him and says the two are engaged, without thinking of the consequences. They then decide to fake this engagement for a month.
Will they be able to fake it for a month? Without really falling in love with each other?
I loved Sophia and how she does everything to take care of her grandmother, giving up some of her dreams to repay everything her grandmother did for her.
I was really tense when Michael found out what Sophia’s job was and the misunderstandings created by his ex.
I loved the story and the characters. I’m anxious for the next book in this series.
This is a light-hearted romance about a billionaire (Michael) with some bad memories about his ex-fiancée (Mindy) and realizes that he needs a date for a fundraiser event. He comes into contact with a rather naïve young woman (Sophia) via his dating website, after a confrontation with Mindy at the event she becomes jealous and later discloses that Sophia is a stripper and from here the retaliation and games begin.
There is: quite a bit of drama, emotional issues, memories, deceit, sarcasm, some humor, manipulations, propositions, jealousy, disclosure, confrontations, apologies, grief, heartache, happiness & some steam.
Although, I enjoyed reading the story, I think that the characters needed some more depth to their personalities.
Michael runs a dating website, but refuses to risk his heart again so he keeps all dates casual. So casual, that he can’t find a date to the Valentine’s Day charity gala. He sets up a fake profile and is matched to Sophia by his own app, yet he’s still amazed and thrilled to find that she’s every bit the perfect match for him.
Sophia is happy to play the part of a cherished Cinderella for one night, but when Michael’s ex starts embarrassing him at the gala, Sophia jumps to his defense and makes things much more complicated by claiming she and Michael are engaged. They privately agree to keep up the ruse for one month, during which they get to know each other better and Michael starts to rethink his dating policies. But then Michael learns her secret, trust becomes an issue between them, and Sophia suffers a tragic loss that has her rethinking the cost of a relationship with Michael.
To say that these two have a complicated relationship is a huge understatement, making their road to a HEA fraught with personal introspection and life-goal reevaluations. Their intimate scenes are quite steamy and there is quite a bit of humor (especially between Michael and his family) that make this an enjoyable read. There were a couple times I thought the main characters might have been over-reacting a bit, but it wasn’t glaring enough to detract from the story. There’s a lot to love in this book, and I heartily recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
The storyline was well written and the characters were so well defined that I was glued to my kindle from the very first page! As I turned the pages I felt like I was looking through a window watching as the story developed between Sophia and Michael!
Loved it. He made a dating website. He needs a date for something. So he lies about his name and such because of things that happened in his past. She answers his ad. But she is naive and innocent. Things get emotional, exciting, sexy, intriguing and much more. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
This is the first book in the Irresistible Billionaires Series. Michael and Sophia’s story is a fake engagement with some twists. Lots of plots twists and an evil ex who stirs up some trouble. Two wounded souls help each other develop trust and love. Plenty of drama and lots of chemistry. I read a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.
Wonderfully entertaining story about Billionaire Michael and struggling Sophia and their consuming passion for one another. Each has been hurt enough to wall off their hearts – he by a selfish ex and she by a disinterested mother. Unaware of how deeply each had been cut, can they find their way to the happiness they deserve, or will the continue to punish themselves by wallowing in isolation? Balancing passion with the right amount of exposition keeps this story engaging and satisfying. Looking forward to more Irresistible Billionaires.
Light, easy, fun and quick read. The story follows billionaire CEO Michael Vilander who has been burned once in a relationship (literally left at the alter), by a money grabbing user, he swears never to let anyone get close to him again. He has a two date max rule. However he needs a date for a fundraiser, but he decides he’ll seek someone out on his dating website, enter Sophia Baldwin, sweet, hardworking and compassionate. Sophia looks after her ailing grandma, works nights and also volunteers in her spare time, all while saving up money to pay for her grandma’s meds and her own nursing course fees. The story had lots of potential, very much modern day Cinderella, it did however feel a little stilted in places and very cliched, the end came rather abruptly. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review.
