I am a big fan of rock star romances and found that this story had all the things I enjoy in a good rock star romance. The storylines was very enjoyable and the writing was very well done.I liked the details that was included in the story and i enjoyed the way the story ended.
KL Shandwick has totally knocked it out of the park with this book, it will totally send your emotions on a rollercoaster from the very first page until the very end.
It’s a love triangle involving Gray, Hettie and Phoebe as we follow their journey of love throughout the years.
Gray first met Hettie in college years ago and the spent five beautiful weeks together then he left the states and headed home back to the UK. Their lives may have gone in different directions but they never forgot each other. Phoebe is the girl Gray spends his evenings with but they don’t have a conventional relationship. Gray has lots of insecurities where women are concerned and only one girl can finally win his heart but which will it be?
A fabulous rockstar read definitely not to be missed.
What an emotional journey….
…a love triangle in the mixed!
Hot and sexy rock star, with a dilemma…
…two strong women, loyal and independent
This book is told in different POV…
I loved knowing their thoughts and feelings..
I enjoyed reading this, which one will he choose..???
I have to hold my hands up and say I didn’t really connect with Hettie and Gray. Not quite sure why. Though I did need to know how it ended.
This book was amazing. It is a slow tortured read that will leave you gasping and asking why he is such an idiot, but man the tortured path to heal his soul is so worth it. This book will have you laughing, crying and wet.
5 stars just isn’t enough
I was hooked to beginning to the end. K.L. Knows how to write a rockstar.
What a journey Hettie and Gray have gone through in this story. Gray abandoned by his mother and feeling unable to love. Hettie left behind by him after 5 amazing weeks together. A lot had to be worked through before they get
If there is one thing that you can guarantee from any book KL Shandwick writes, it that it will be filled with
Wonderful characters who you become invested in from the very beginning and make you feel every emotion they do.
Notes on Love is no exception & is Filled with emotions that most of us have experienced in our lifetime.
Remember that amazing fling you had when you were younger , but who You’ve never Quite forgotten?
Well Notes On Love is Gray & Hettie’s second chance.
It’s not an easy road, both their lives are in very different places And whilst One knows the road they are on is the right road , the road They were born to walk, The other
Is walking the safe road , until they meet again 7 years later.
Notes on Love is not all hearts and flowers , it will
Wring your emotions in places, But equally will make your heart soar
Notes on Love is the emotional story of Gray, a rock star on the rise and his beautifully flawed relationships with the women in his life.
Gray first meets Hettie when they are at college together in the US and they enjoy a hot and heavy five week affair before Gray leaves to return to the UK to pursue his career with his band CraVed. Despite feelings of unfinished business, each move on with their lives in the years to come until Gray returns to the US and memories of Hettie come flooding back. He reaches out to her again and we are taken on a journey of self discovery and, ultimately, understanding and love.
We get to meet the other members of the band and their banter with each other is hilarious. The back slapping and crude humour is just how you would imagine life on the road with a band would be. We are also introduced to Phoebe, a sweet, sexy woman who plays a large part in Gray’s life. I found myself having a real soft spot for her. She was strong, yet emotionally vulnerable at the same time.
Gray’s relationship with Hetty is a complicated one. I love the dialogue between them, those first feelings of not quite love but a simmering something are excellent. They challenge each other and the raw feelings of heartbreak are beautifully written. The sexual chemistry between them is explosive and their love scenes are steamy and erotic. Gray’s feelings for Phoebe complicate matters and I really wasn’t sure which way that relationship was headed. A broken man when it comes to love, during the course of the book we see him grow and change.
This is a wonderfully written, emotional roller coaster of a book, which is told from three alternating points of view. The use of flashbacks is seamless and gives the reader a real understanding of these characters. A great read which I highly recommend.
I had read one of this author’s novels before so I thought I would try another one. It was worth the reading with better than expected for sure. I have read a couple that featured rock bands so it is always interesting to see where a different writer will go with one. The way this one starts with I do not think I cared too much for Gray and his personality. Then though I was put in my place with him not being what I had presumed he did have a heart. His look on love and the emotional wringer we go through has you into this deep. Even when you think it is ok something else comes along with this also digging deeper into a way to love. Healing and growing will be part of this causing the ah factor more than once.
I think Hettie is a character that many people can relate to, particularly when she’s with Harris. Gray ended up being more complex than I expected. While his drive towards his career has always been at the forefront, relationships have usually taken a back seat. I liked that while his relationships were hot, there ended up being more depth to them. The banter between the band members was great.
This was a wonderful rockstar romance. I absolutely adored Gray, he’s not your typical rockstar, he has a conscious. Hettie and Gray had a short romance that ended when he returned to the UK. Years later they see each other again, even though they both are seeing someone else they still have a connection and a spark between them. I’m not much on love triangles, and wanted to smack Gray a few times, but things have a way of working out the way they should. How you ask, read and find out, you will love that you did. It’s a great story and one I definitely recommend.
OMG!! I have never been so frustrated with a character in all my life, KL Shandwick what are you doing to me?
Gray Dennison is not your average rock-star, well not the type you usually read about anyway, the kind who use groupies and move on never using the same woman again, no, Gray lets them get close, he lays the rules down about being exclusive and stays with the same girl on the condition its just friends with benefits BUT of course the poor woman is going to fall for him, of course they are going to get hurt when he doesn’t want more and then he gets a conscious about it and hates himself.
Honestly this guy, I was sweating at certain parts of this book, and I could have slapped my kindle at times. I didn’t know if I wanted to slap Gray, hug him or chuck him off a bridge.
Gray was brought up by his father, abandoned by his mother and obviously has relationship and insecurity issues due to his upbringing despite being a sexy rock star who could have it all.
NOTES ON LOVE wasn’t an easy read purely due to frustration with the character and decisions made or not made, it certainly was a roller-coaster of a read and I did not have a clue were the plot was leading too BUT I enjoyed it, I loved the angst, you could say it was Marmite, you will either love Gray or hate him, hates a strong word but… *shrugs.
Gray does redeem himself so get ready for whiplash, prepare yourself for a swoon-worthy ending
Told In first person dual pov and leads to a hea
I do love a rock star romance and so I was really looking forward to reading this one, especially as I’ve read other books by this author. I loved the characters and the story line was great but for me, I found the different POVs made the story a little repetitive where they were written. It is a long read but there is so much to Gray Dennison’s life and I loved how the author covered unique and sensitive topics.
WOW! If you have read the Ready For Flynn series then you know a little about how much angst and the twists and turns that KL’s books contain, if you loved them then this is on another level. Feelings are hard sometimes to understand, how they affect us and the events that lead us into adulthood. I know that things that happened to me in my childhood stayed with me, they do affect how I react and behave as an adult, so I did completely understand how Grays thinking got a bit screwed up along the line. This story is quite deep, it makes you think. I did feel a bit sorry for Phoebe but at the same time she knew deep down how Gray felt about Hettie even if he didn’t understand it himself. He was easy to love and he cared about his women, it was just hard for him to understand some of what his feelings were or how to recognise and work with them. There is angst and heartache in this and at times you wonder if Gray will ever work things out for his greater good. The band and his friends are great, loyal and Brody especially is very understanding and forthright. I feel KL did a great job not rushing this story to a conclusion but taking the time to let Gray work it out naturally, it would have been spoilt otherwise. We have to go through this with him to get the full understanding, I felt quite quickly who I thought he would end up with but I must admit for a while I wasn’t sure it would happen. The sexual content is honest and down to earth, yes it is graphic but not over done or over the top. In fact it was quite tame for what we know of rock star lifestyle. I took my time with this book it deserved to be taken in and for all the nuances to be processed as I read it, there is a lot to it so to rush it I don’t feel I would have got the full meaning or I might have missed bits. I think this is the best book so far, they just keep improving with each new one and if this keeps going then they will be off the scale. I wish we had more stars to vote with because most of the books I have read deserve the 5 stars but sometimes you get one that warrants more and this is one of them, so if it was up to me this would be at least a 7 star and I cant wait to see what she manages to bring with the next book.
This is a beautiful story that had me muttering not nice things at certain characters. For my personal reading preferences there were too many POV changes that made the story seem unnecessarily drawn out. Other than that it’s a very enjoyable heartbreaking and heartwarming book.
I can’t emphasize enough how much I loved this story. There’s not many men out there that strive to do the right thing, and Gray always tried. Even before he sought out counseling to help himself and get his head on straight. Gray and Hettie’s story is a long and winding road to finding the love each deserves. I can’t recommend this book enough.
If you like love triangles then you will probably love this book. Get you a box of tissues because this book is an emotional roller coaster all the way through. There is so much more to Gray than him just being a rock star. I really loved the relationship the band has and it really shines through just how great of friends they all really are. The love part is also great. I am telling you this is a very emotional book!
I’m going to start off by saying I’m not really much into rock star books. I have a hard time connecting. I really wanted to love this one and while I felt the author did a great job with the characters and the Love, I felt it was very long. The writing was good, and the plot was good, but for me, I just couldn’t love it. I would be willing to read more from this author and will look into other books. 3 stars for writing and the characters.
Gray is part of a rock band and has never forgotten his college relationship, although he wasn’t sure what he felt as he swears he doesn’t feel love. Hettie has never forgotten her five-week relationship in college and has been thinking about him more with the problems in her own relationship.
Gray admits that he has feelings for his current bed buddy, Phoebe, but tells her it’s feelings not love. Phoebe supported Gray though his grief in loosing Lizzie, who was close to but didn’t love. When Gray is in Miami he decides with encouragement from Phoebe to contact Hettie.
With Gray’s bandmate realising that he has issues and should see a counsellor, he takes their advice and start to work on his issues to try to work out his feelings, realising he needs to know what love is and to work though his past before he can move forward with anyone.
After working out his feelings after many months Gray decides to contact the one he knows he’s in love with and let her know how he really feels. Ends with an amazing HEA.
