“A heartwarming story about fresh starts: about finding the courage to hope and trust again; the grace to forgive; and a faith not only for the future, but for ‘this day’ as well.” -Advance review
Three kids. Two broken hearts. One chance to become a family.
Isabel has three simple rules: Keep moving. No friends. No men. It’s the only way to keep herself and her daughter safe. But when she … But when she arrives in the small town of Hope Springs, she finds that she suddenly wants to break all the rules. Especially when it comes to a certain sweet single dad.
Tyler has one goal: Keep his boys from ever getting hurt again. That’s why he avoids dating, women, or anything having to do with love. So why does the mysterious single mother who works at his family’s orchard have him rethinking everything?
As Isabel starts to think of Hope Springs as home, Tyler starts to think of her as more than a friend. But when Isabel’s past comes to light, her fears and his doubts are tested in new ways. Will they give in to the fear and pain of the past–or can they turn it all over to God and trust him to give them a future?
Not Until This Day is an emotional story of faith, forgiveness, and most of all, trust in God’s perfect love.
“Not Until This Day is a story of faith triumphing over fear and trust winning out over worry…. A wonderful, lifelike story that was just what I needed to be reminded of today.” -Advance review

I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. This is a delightful story which addresses some of the problems of Domestic Violence victims. Valerie does a great job of showing how God’s love and forgiveness can conquer any situation. The story and characters are believable and interesting.
I loved this story! It’s the first book by Valerie M. Bodden that I’ve read. Although this is the second book in the Hope Springs series, it can be read as a stand-alone in any order. This was a beautiful, heartwarming, well written Inspirational story.
The main characters, Valerie & Tyler, are both broken emotionally and afraid to trust any kind of relationship. The characters were written with real life issues which I could relate to & it made it hard to put down. Tyler & Valerie were able to deal with those issues & were healed by God’s unconditional love.
I encourage all to read this book. I received this book at a free giveaway by the author & would leave a unbiased review.
Not Until This Day is a heartwarming story I couldn’t stop reading. A story of hope, love and friendship, a story of a God who heals pain and brings people together. A book with a beautiful message in a world full of pain and sorrow. I got this book for free for an honest review
This book was a lesson to remember of letting God take my fear and fill me up with peace, every single moment of my life.
It was a lesson about faith. And I found it as a great reminder during this time of quarantine when we have to stay at home.
“But here’s the thing God reminded me of. I don’t need this church. You don’t need this church. It’s just a building. What we need is the faith God has worked in our hearts. What we need is his love for us that is so great that he sent his Son into the world to die for us. No storm can take that away. Not even a tornado. (or not even a virus). Because our refuge isn’t in a building. God is our refuge. He is our strength and our fortress.”
This is a wonderful story about what it means to truly love and to trust, about second chances, new beginnings, forgiveness, community and the one Love that encompasses all. This was my first time reading a Valerie Bodden book. I will definitely read this whole series and whatever else she has written.
Isabel and Tyler have both been hurt in past relationships. They must learn to trust their hearts, each other, and God if they want to be able to move forward toward happiness. The author does an great job of fleshing out Isabel’s character and describing the self doubt, fear, and self loathing she feels as a result of her past abuse. She does an equally good job with Tyler’s character with his distrust of women and vow to never date again. Valerie writes with her heart. She delves into the characters and turns them into real people on the pages. I would definitely recommend this book!
Loved this story!! I loved reading Tyler and Isabel’s story. Isabel had a tragic first marriage, touched by something that happens all to often in real life. Tyler’s first marriage ended when his wife cheated. Also something that happens all to often in real life. Tyler managed to hold on to his faith, and have it grow stronger. Isabel had no faith until she met Tyler and the others in Hope Springs. Hope Springs lived up to its name in Isabel’s life. She met God there, and learned to trust Him, and learned that God’s love is real and will cast out fear. With God, all things are possible, including meeting a wonderful man, who wouldn’t take out his short comings on her. Love that she also used her knowledge to help others to change and grow, too.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
This is an emotion story of a woman who wasn’t sure what love really felt like. She didn’t know the love of God, didn’t know if it could possible exist. She struggled with feelings she was having about a man she met. Not understanding for sure if it was love or just friendship. Then he ask her to go to church with him and she starts wondering more about the love of God. This story opens a broken heart up to, not only God’s love, but the love of others. It is an amazing change. I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review. A must read story.
Not Until This Day is a wonderful, Christian romance filled with broken, flawed people healed by God’s perfect love. This story deals with the realities of domestic violence survivors. These Hope Springs books are the kind you read again and again. Kudos to Ms. Bodden for giving us this heartwarming tale.
Not Until This Day is a beautiful and heartwarming story. It is a great addition to the Hope Springs series, yet I believe readers could hop into this novel and enjoy it without having read the other books. Just be aware that there are many other couples who appear in the book, whose stories have been told in earlier novels.
There were times that the main characters didn’t handle things well and made decisions that were in haste, which they would have to deal with later. Whether it was Isabel responding with a lie about her previous relationship or Tyler’s response to certain events, these things had to be dealt with and did help both eventually grow closer.
Isabel was not a believer for most of the book and I appreciated that the way she viewed things made sense from her world view. I loved watching her grow in faith and begin to pass along her fears to God. This was a great story that I enjoyed from start to finish!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Isabel had run from an abusive husband fearful that he found find her and their daughter. She had changed their names, colored her hair and gone clear across the country to Hope Springs. It sounded like a nice place to stay, at least for a little while. She had major trust issues and she was super protective of her young daughter, Gabby. She had rules. Among them were no friends, no men, don’t stay too long in one place. She didn’t believe she was worthy of love, not even God’s.
Tyler had trust issues since his ex-wife had cheated on him and left him with their twin sons to raise on his own. He wasn’t sure he would ever be able to open his heart up to love again. When he first met Isabel, he wasn’t sure of her fitness to be a good mother. But, fate stepped in and kept the two of them in almost daily contact. As they spent more time together, he began to see that maybe God had a hand in this situation.
Was it possible for these two wounded souls to find that God had a plan for them both and would they open their hearts to faith and forgiveness in order to heal and learn to love again.
I enjoyed reading this story just as much as all of Ms. Bodden’s other books. She has a way of telling a story by pulling at your heartstrings and bringing your emotions along for the ride. It was a beautiful story of healing and learning to allow God in to show you that you can love again after great heartache. It was a clean romance with no sex or foul language. There was a small amount of domestic abuse violence, but nothing terribly graphic and detailed.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I received an advance reader copy but I would gladly purchase this book and I will purchase her books in the future. Isabel is a mother driven to protect her child and this leads her to the wonderful town of Hope Springs where good people, a great man in Tyler and the faith in God bring love and happiness
This story will draw you in and make you think. Some deep issues here. Must read! Valerie has touched some very important issues for all of us and has done it in a way that keeps you highly engaged! This was my first book from Valerie’s pen that I have read and I would give her an A+. Excellent, Valerie!
Not Until This Day is a heartwarming story I couldn’t stop reading. A story of hope, love and friendship, a story of a God who heals pain and brings people together. A book with a beautiful message in a world full of pain and sorrow. I got this book for free for an honest review
This story had so many of the things that I look for in my romances. The characters were likable, with just a few exceptions (I.e., the two abusive men). Isabel’s little girl Gabby had such a sweet and sunny disposition, I just wanted to reach into the pages and hug her! Although Tyler got off to a rough start with Isabel, he redeemed himself as the story progressed, and turned out to be just what she needed. As a result of past hurts, they both had walls of distrust up, but Tyler’s true character and faith gradually shone through enough to break through some of those walls. It was so sweet to “see” him gently coax Isabel out of her shell, to see her new friends welcome her into their homes and hearts, and to see how God worked through all of them and through the difficulties they faced to draw Isabel to Himself. I received a copy of this book from the author, and I recommend it highly. It is well-written, refreshing, and inspirational, and I look forward to reading more of Ms. Bodden’s books in the future.
I very much enjoyed this story about an abused woman and her young daughter and a man raising his twin sons after being abandoned by his wife. Both Isabel and Tyler had closed off their hearts from love, and it was so rewarding to see each of them begin to allow themselves to be vulnerable. It was very appealing to see Isabel come to faith in Jesus. The author sprinkles Scripture throughout this book, but is not the least bit preachy. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but the ending of the story is quite beautiful. Romances are not usually considered page-turners, but I didn’t want to put down my Kindle. Just one more chapter, and another, and another… Since I didn’t want to leave this small town and the interesting and likable people who live there, I have already purchased and begun reading the first Hope Springs box set. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy clean books with interesting and likable characters. Although part of a series, each book may be read independently of the others.
Disclosure: I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy (ARC) and have given my honest opinion.
A seemingly simple story that ends up a page turner, waiting for the “other shoe to drop.” Tyler and Isabel both have wounded hearts from the past. As a result, they don’t always tell the truth. This is the story of their journey to first, trust God, and then learn to trust each other. Their story is full of adventure, friends and family, and more than a few twists and turns.
I received an Advanced Reader copy of this book – and I’m so glad!
I find it neat how when I read one of these books I get so engrossed in the story I hate to see it end. But when the next one starts, even knowing and loving the stories of some of the other characters that seems to slide into the background while I am completely captivated by the new story! Once again I fell in love with Isabel & Tyler. While it is a romance I just love the way it tells even more of the underlying issues many of us face in our own lives! The tendency most people have to worry & not open up to keep from being hurt again. This story deals with how especially as Christians we need to remember that when we worry it gives us the false assumption we are keeping control and by closing ourselves off to protect from being hurt again not only produces bitterness but hurts us more than helps. Valerie shows how to work through these issues not alone but in the way God intends for us to, which is the only way to be successful. We need to give God that faith & control! I love this from the first page until the end…beautifully written story of faith and love!
A story of secrets, fear, faith, hope, love, new beginnings and finding home.
So good! I loved getting to know Isabelle’s story and how she finally discovered true love doesn’t cause fear. I fell in love with her little daughter Gabby, she had been through so much in her young life, but she had such joy. If you like clean inspirational stories, I highly recommend ‘Not Until This Day’. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
I love this well written, clean, romantic emotional story. Gabby is so cute and I liked that Austin’s family was mentioned. A great read!
