An amazing read that will keep flipping the pages and wanting more. Love the chemistry between Gabe and Isabella.
Favorite quote: Gabe ~ “If anyone can save me, it’s her. And if anyone can save her, it’s me. It’s a match made in heaven. Or hell, depending on the outcome.”
Not so Prince Charming by Lauren Landish a five-star read that will charm you. This is the second novel in the Dirty Fairytale Series and can be read as stand-alone, we do meet the other couple and characters, but each has their own story. This isn’t my favourite read by this author, but I did enjoy it, Gabriel shows us his dark side and his wings, he has such depth that they will bind you with their light. He is so much tastier than anything they could serve in the Gravy Train. Isabella is a character you will warm to and one you would love to be able to help.
Not So Prince Charming by Lauren Landish takes you on a wild rollercoaster ride of emotion. This book is full of suspense, mystery, secrets, danger and its sexy and sweet. The chemistry between Gabe and Izzy is off the charts. I loved this book so much and can’t wait for the next one!!!
5++++ stars for this bad boy that finds his good girl love story. This is book 2 following Beauty and the Billionaire. Isabella (Izzy) Turner is barely keeping her head above water with school, working, and trying to pay her bills. She will not accept any help from her friends even though they love her and want to help out. When a handsome dark stranger starts coming in to the Gravy Train where she works every night and seems to like Izzy she doesn’t realize how much her boring difficult life is about to change.
Gabriel (Gabe) Jackson is known as the Fallen Angel in the dark underworld he lives in. He was hired to do a job and he takes his contract seriously but he will check all angels before completing his mission. When he meets Izzy he is intrigued to say the least so he continues his hunt to see what she is really made of and little did he know this job will change his world forever.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! This is the best book. It’s full of secrets and mysteries and edge of your seat fear at times as to what is going to happen next. The elusive Mr. Blackwell is back and out for revenge and Izzy is who he blames for his failed attempt at taking down the Golden Boy, Thomas Goldstone. This book has some difficult moments where you will be biting your nails and scared to turn the page but trust me you need to. It is so well written and the characters are all believable and loveable, well with the exception of a few that are evil, but you will fall for Gabe and his Bella. I felt as though I was there hiding in the shadows watching this all unfold, I was pulled into this story with these characters and loved every minute of it. I loved how Gabe has a good side to him along with his dark and how Izzy is a survivor and doesn’t cower down even though she is faced with so many trials in her life. If I needed a savior it would be Gabriel Jackson, lord that man will melt you. Know that this is no sweet romance, it is dark at times and there is evil lurking around every corner and things will get messy at times but it is realistic and true to the story. Nothing bad just part of the hitman world but they will get their HEA.
I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. Before reading this book, Beauty and the Billionaire was my favorite book this year, now it has taken second to Not So Prince Charming. This is my favorite and there is a 3rd to come. I can’t wait for book 3 to see what happens. I loved this book and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait for the audible to listen to as well.
I must warn you this book gonna draw you in from the 1st page. It’s a twisted tale about one man who wanted a woman killed over something that she might have said or done, or just maybe cuz she associated with someone he dislikes
Another man is searching for answer that he desperately needs to know, but in the process seem to have lost his humanity, or has he? That question with be answer hopefully by the end of this tale
She a hard-working woman, try to survive in world that doesn’t want to give her any breaks. See she lost her parents & her older brother at young age to tragic accident, only to barely scrape by with her loving aunt. But then she lost her to cancer. Now she got one man stalking her to kill her, and another man that is down right creepy that wants her to pay off her land loan with her body
I must say this book can be read as standalone book, I would recommend you reading Mia & Thomas’s book “Beauty and the billionaire”. That’s where we 1st meet Charlotte, Mia & Izzy- we also course meet Thomas, in the background we have the asshat in a tower with a narcissistic God complex. Like some Evil King of Roseboro. Who likes to play games with people’s lives
I love the aspect of the corporate espionage hidden in the background. I maybe not like Blackwell tactics & the games he might play. if you sit back & think about it, this what draw you in besides all the steamy scenes & the romance
next up I hope is Charlotte’s book & very soon please MS Landish
————————– Enjoy —————–
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion
Paulette Review
Not So Prince Charming is another great book filled with wonderful characters, connections, steamy scenes and twists and turns. This book can be read as a stand-alone but is part of the Dirty Fairytale series!
Izzy has had a hard life but wants to be independent. She works, goes to school and has no time for herself. She’s got great friends with Mia and Charolette! I love their friendship.
Gabe- he meets Izzy bc if his job. Probably not the best job- but he sees something different about Izzy! They have this connection. 2 people with broken pasts! But the story takes everyone on a crazy journey. Gabe fights for Izzy as she finds out about him.
I love all the characters and connections!
Awakening Hearts
Sleep, school and work…repeat. That is the extent of Isabella’s life in a nut shell. She has struggled all her life with devastating personal tragedies, but has remained strong and independent. But all that takes a 360 degree turn when she meets GabrielJackson. As soon as their eyes meet, the electricity cackles between them. But Gabriel has an agenda and it does not include romance and a HEA.
Isabella is attracted to this dark and dangerous stranger and she quickly discovers he has a sinister side and that he is capable of cruel acts of suffering. Gabriel has never been the same after the horrific murder of his brother and his mission in life isto vindicate his death. But Gabriel sees another way of life through the eyes of Isabella. Gabriel and Isabella have an attraction and common bond with each other that cannot be denied. Gabriel needs to dig deep to make decisions that are out of his comfortzone.
This is a passionate heart gripping story and tense throughout. I look forward to reading more in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I’m so in love with this book. Izzy is amazing, she is smart, sassy and bull headed and will never accept help from anyone, she wants to make it on her own, but every now and then we all need a little help. When Gabe started showing up around the diner, he’s gorgeous, sexy, all man and he’s peaked her interest, made her feel things she didn’t think she’d feel again. Gabe kept coming around, making her smile, making her laugh, getting to know her, little does she know that she’s the reason he’s in town. Gabe has been hired by Mr. Blackwell, you remember him, don’t you? Crazy jealous of Thomas and Mia, trying everything he could think of to set up Thomas to take the fall and ruin him financially. Well Izzy had a small part in helping Thomas get the insider who was helping Blackwell with his evil deeds and now he’s got his sights on Izzy and he wants her gone. That’s where Gabe comes in, he’s not who she thinks he is, he’s not a nice man, he’s cold, calculated, has rules and a moral code that he never strays from. He’s been hurt by tragedy and that has molded him into the person he is today, but the light and sunshine that Izzy brings to the table, makes him feel lighter and happy and that’s foreign to him and doesn’t feel deserving. All he wants to do is protect her from Blackwell and also her landlord Russell who doesn’t know how to take a hint and get lost. Things are starting to spiral out of control and Izzy’s safety is in jeopardy, and when she catches Gabe in the act of violence, how is she going to feel towards him? Will she run as fast and as far a she can, or will she hear him out and then decide what to do? Love has a funny way of fogging your glasses, so you can’t really see what’s in front of you, and if this is happiness, maybe Izzy should take a closer look at the man standing in front of her and ask the question, is Gabe really worth all of this? I guess you will have to read for yourselves to find out what happens with these two. Loved this book, great read, their story is, steamy, sexy, suspenseful with a little danger wrapped up in a big red bow. I highly recommend this book!
Gabriel heads into the night in search of his target. Gabe has a contract and the hit must be done, according to plan, in order to get the answers he is desperately seeking. Gabe is well seasoned in his profession, but he does have rules. No innocents. As he watches his target, he begins to have second thoughts. She doesn’t seem to fit the requirements of his previous hits. She seems…like trouble for him. He needs to find out more before he proceeds.
Isabella has worked hard to get where she is and ultimately, where she is going. That’s not to say that life hasn’t dealt her a few blows along the way. Between the diner and school she is barely scraping by.
Gabe is conflicted. Kill Izzy and avenge a death? Or keep Izzy for himself and try to move on.
One tragic night, long ago, changed everything. Gabe has now become what he despised most and has vowed to use his skills to hunt down the perps and impose his own justice. If he’s not careful, he will become the one being hunted.
A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE OF DANGER AND MYSTERY ! I love how the main characters and the secondary characters both feature heavily and support the plot; especially when the secondary characters are from a connected book.
ACTION PACKED WITH MANY TWISTS AND TURNS ! EXPLOSIVE CHEMISTRY AND UNRESTRAINED PASSION ! ! AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH ! ! !
I was given an advanced copy for an honest review.
Gabe is a hitman, who is hired to kill Izzy (Isabella). He has a strong moral code (for a hitman) and will only kill people who he finds are truly evil. After studying “Bella” (the name he likes to think of her as), he discovers she is an innocent.
Isabella is clueless that anyone would want to kill her. She is a student and a waitress and full of pride.
When Gabe and “Bella ” meet sparks fly and Gabe decides he wants to protect her from the man who put a hit out on her.
I had a problem connecting with these characters. It took me 1/3 of the story to get “caught up” into the story. I found Isabella had too much pride and there was no backstory as to why she was the way she was. Why she refused to accept help from her friends. I found her a bit irritating.
Gabe was your typical “dark” character, but I did not care enough about him for “Bella” to redeem him.
I foind the breaks (or interjections of the story) from Blackwell annoying and trowing off the story’s rhythm.
Lauren Landish is an excellent writer.
This was not one of her best.
