He’s no Prince Charming and that’s a good thing.
Gabriel specializes in wet work. He’s impeccable at it. And his latest target is Isabella Turner. Can he take her out?
Isabella is a hardworking college student, waitress at the Gravy Train and is poor.
Set in Roseboro, a town in the Pacific Northwest.
Blackwell hired Gabe to off Isabella. He is holding considerable leverage to do the job. Blackwell is a kingpin with a vendetta against Thomas Goldstone and Isabella.
No spoilers. But the handful of disparate people in Roseboro, loners will band together.
Gabe is complicated and may just be a prince in very rusty armor. He has to fight his contradicting compulsions.
Steamy, smart, intrigue and the feels.
Recommend.

What a fantastic story from Lauren. I couldn’t put it down I had to know what happened next. This book had suspense and some downright hot af sex scenes and I loved these 2 characters Gabe and Izzy (Bella). He’s been hired to kill her, but what he finds when he is watching her is she’s not a bad person so why would somebody want her dead? She’s just a struggling part-time waitress/student just trying to make ends meet when a stranger (Gabe) walks into her diner. Will he be able to do what he was hired to do or is there more to her story that what meets the eye?
I’d definitely would recommend one clicking this story anything this lady writes is golden.
This is my opinion and my review
I really enjoyed this twisted fairy tale about Izzy and Gabe! Would be assassins falling for their prey is a weakness for me, I love the power dynamics shifting, and there’s always more danger and suspense in these types of stories. With all that going on you’ve got the growing feelings between the two and the passion builds, its super hot to watch (read) it all unfold. I’m also really invested now in the background story in this book and also the first one in the series, involving Blackwell. I really hope we get to see him get whats coming to him in future stories.
Loved this.
Wow this one had so many turns. It is another testament to the Black heart of Blackwell. Izzy starts out as a pawn in Blackwell’s game. Gabe sees the true beauty and heart of Izzy and comes to love her. Once he loves her they have to change the game and make sure good wins. Gabe and Izzy have intense chemistry and she sees the good in him.
Great book.It had an edge to yo and didn’t want to put it down until I was finished with it.
I enjoyed this book and characters and the twist was insane. Bella & Gabe I couldn’t get enough of. They both needed each other more then they realize. Great story and I can’t wait for Blackwell too get what he deserves.
No So Prince Charming:A Dirty Fairy Tale
By Lauren Landish
Gabriel “Gabe” Jackson after meeting Isabelle “Izzy” Turner.
Our eyes meet . . . and inside me, I feel more conflicted than ever. Because in the first meeting of our eyes, I feel what I’ve thought doesn’t exist. The Spark.
He was hired to kill her by Blackwell for an on going need to destroy his rival Thomas Goldstone especially since she helped foil his latest attempt at company espionage.
Izzy or Bella as Gabe calls her has had an incredibly difficult life one filled with loss, financial hardship and an evil landlord. So has worked hard for everything she has and refuses to take handouts. When he tells her he admires her and that she can look back and say she earned everything and not many people can say that. She tells him her friend Mia has a saying:
“Don’t ask for it, Tovarich. Earn it.
Do that, and you’ll be rewarded.”
Bella talking to Gabe about needing a reason to wake up from being asleep behind the wheel of life ,drudging through life hoping it will get better:
“If I’m going to wake up, take that risk, I need a reason.”
You are reason enough. You deserve to wake up and own every second of your life, enjoy them now, not just later when you feel like you’ve earned it. You’ve already earned it, Bella. But I would be thrilled to enjoy it along with you.”
Bella questioning why Gabe wants to be with her.
“Don’t you know? It’s because I love you, Bella. I love you with everything I am, everything I have.”
Their journey wasn’t easy it was dangerous, mysterious, dark, intense, action packed yet it was emotionally powerful, passionate and loving.
I loved Thomas’s toast to Mia, Charlotte, Bella and Gabe.
“To a growing circle of family.”
“To a day well-lived, a night well-slept, and a life well-loved. Cheers!”
There were so many twist, turns and plotting going on that the drama will likely continue in Charlotte’s story “Happily Never After.”
Five heart racing
A Gloriously Masterful Follow-up… I. Am. Stunned. Lauren Landish is brilliant. And “Not so Prince Charming” is an absolute magnificent follow-up to “Beauty and the Billionaire”, wow, just wow!
This being the second installment in her Dirty Fairy Tales series, Landish begins this book immediately where the first book ended, with the fallout of Blackwell’s evil. Focusing on best friend Izzy and her involvement in Thomas and Mia’s plan from book one. This book takes you further down the treacherous path of corporate sabotage. And unfolds before you in terrifying detail, what happens when a deranged, narcissistic, sadistic corporate mogul marks an innocent as revenge against a perceived rival.
It is heartwrenchingly horrific! And HOLY HELL does it take you on a ride and give you emotional whiplash!
Where “Beauty and the Billionaire” burned “Not so Prince Charming” smolders. Where the first book catapulted you forward through Thomas and Mia’s story at breakneck speed, this installment meanders with Gabe and Izzy at a pace so slow and torturous it lights your mind and heart on fire. Where book one was forcefully possessive and rough, this book is methodically protective taking slow care to plot its course forward through the heartbreak, fear, uncertainty, and danger.
It is delicious in its redemptive darkness.
And Gabe, my lord… With this man Landish is so predatory with her prose that you feel every word he says, every word about his life, every detail about his emotional state in your chest. Like a jackhammer to a slab of concrete, the fallen angel explodes your soul with his singular drive and devotion. And through his eyes your heart will break, your eyes will tear, and your stomach will clench with his pain.
And then you will be taken even further down the emotional gamut toward the final showdown with Blackwell yet to come.
A gloriously masterful follow up!
Heat, chemistry, conflict, and oh, did I say heat? This story is not your typical alpha hero story, it is actually a well-written story, with well-developed characters and the author just continues to outdo herself with every book she writes. No spoilers in my reviews, but you need to know that this is an enjoyable steamy tale, not just like all the rest, Lauren Landish is a master hot love storyteller and you just don’t want to put her books down once you start them.
Characters in this book were well defined and wonderfully developed. Of course you are expecting the change of heart in Gabe but watching it happen is great. The story has twists and turns and the trip will keep you on the edge of your chair at times. Sex is steamy between Gabe and Bella. Only reason this didn’t get 5 stars….I don’t like unfinished business. But still a great read.
This is the story of Gabe and Izzy. He us hired to kill her, but ends up getting too attached to her. Can such a sweet girl find it in her heart to love this damaged man and all of his faults? Can they both survive and find happiness when a ruthless killer has them in his cross hairs? This was a lot of fun to read!
Oh, Gabriel, I love Gabriel. All he wants is justice for a wrong that happened to his family. But Gabriel has a code that he goes by when he is giving out justice, and Bella doesn’t match his criteria. So why would someone want her dead? Before he decides to kill her, he wants to know why that is, so Gabriel chooses to get to know her and find out what he can before he makes his final decision. But while this is going on, personal feelings start to come ahead and so does the danger they are now facing.
I highly enjoyed this story.
A bit unique and unrealistic yet so well written it’s totally believable. A story of light and dark mixing to create a special relationship. Really enjoyed this second book of the series.
3 1/2*
Gabriel has been hired by Blackwell to kill Isabella by doing this he gets a chance of answers about his dead brother Jeremy.
Isabella has no idea what Gabe’s intentions are, she’s quickly becoming addicted to him but does she really know him? Her friend Charlotte and Mia are wary.
Enjoyed Mia & Thomas’s book beauty and the billionaire. I’m hoping for Charlotte’s story next?

Not So Prince Charming: A Dirty Fairy Tale
Dirty Fairy Tales, Book 2
By: Lauren Landish
Narrated by: Tor Thom, Lance Greenfield, Carly Robins
Bring on these fairy tales and their amazing narrations! Lauren Landish’s second book in the the Dirty Fairy Tales series is nothing short of amazing. Heat, suspense, grief, love and closure all wrapped up in this tale. Gabriel is a hired assassin, the best at his job, but his moral compass keeps him from carrying out his current mission. Isabella is a student and a waitress, and when she becomes the target, all bets are off. Gabriel finds himself falling for the girl, but who wouldn’t? She is smart, beautiful and heats him up like no other. But if he doesn’t complete the job, what will Mr. Blackwell, the man who hired him do? Ruthless til the end, we find out exactly what Blackwell is made of, and how Gabriel handles it.This fast paced, steamy fairy tale kept me on the edge til the very end with it’s thrilling action and passion filled scenes. I love the characters, the setting, the suspense, it was all a great listen!
This narration team is bringing it all to life, like a movie! Carly Robins gives Isabella the spunk that she has, an independent streak like no other and a heady passion whenever she is around Gabriel. The growlie Lance Greenfield’s alpha voice brings Gabriel to the front, forcing that masculine protectiveness right through your ears. And Tor Thom creates an evilness in Blackwell that makes your skin crawl each time he comes into a scene! The perfect villain! It’s a trio to keep your ears happy.

This book pulled me in and kept me entranced till the end. The feelings of love, hate, and pain coming out in waves making you want to cry while you read. This was such a beautiful book! I loved the characters’ wholesomeness!
I’m fairly new to Lauren’s books, this being the second of her’s that I have read. I must say that I really enjoyed this one, it definitely hooked me from the first page. I loved the storyline and the connection between Gabriel and Bell, they were both lost in their own ways but found themselves in each other.
I loved that the book had plenty of suspense, romance, mystery, angst and sexy scenes making this on your seat page turner into a must read for all. Looking forward to book 3.
