Susan Mallery, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fool’s Gold romances, proves there’s nowhere better than Happily Inc to rekindle first love.Silver Tesdal has a head for business and a mouth made for kissing, and banker Drew Lovato has his eye on both. But ever since he was dumb enough to let her go, she’s kept him at a distance. When the bank turns her down for a loan, Drew sees a … at a distance. When the bank turns her down for a loan, Drew sees a double opportunity—he can finance her brilliant, unique idea to rock Happily Inc’s wedding industry and win back her trust.
Despite her reputation, Silver’s not as tough as she seems. Losing Drew nearly destroyed her. Still, his kisses are as tempting as his offer to invest in her business. If she can’t quite get over him, maybe she should get under him and knock him out of her system once and for all.
But her best laid plans begin to unravel as Silver finds herself falling even harder than when they were high school sweethearts. Which means that she’ll have to come clean about the secret she’s been hiding from him for years—and risk losing him forever.

This is a second chance romance that truly delivers all you could want. Silver needs a loan for her business but the bank turns her down but in steps Drew, the one who got away. Watching these two come together and was explosive, or I should say their chemistry was explosive, even after all the years they had lost. Nothing was going to come between them again in the end. This small town is so special and the inhabitants are a hoot! It is a treat to come and visit and spend a wonderful vacation! I recommend all the books in this series and each can be read as a standalone without being lost.
Silver and Drew’s story has been simmering in the background of Happily Inc since the first book in the series. I’ve been anxiously awaiting to see what would happen between the 2 former lovers. Silver is the tough one in her group of girlfriends we’ve been getting to know throughout the series. Yet when you dig deep she’s wounded and it’s mostly an act she puts up to avoid hurt in her life. Drew, wow, his character grew with astounding leaps and bounds in this story! The two connection and their second chance is a unique story with twists and turns that keeps a reader engaged and happy.
Random thoughts from this book. I hate parents in books like Drew’s mom and his aunt who was the mother in the first book to his cousin, Pallas. Another is I’m not sure if I’m going to like Wynn who is one of the bff’s to the protagonists and secondary character in the stories so far. Finally, I can’t wait for the next book in the series! I’ve fallen in love with Happily Inc and am ready for more!
One of the hardest things Silver ever did was to let Drew go when he went off to college. She stayed in Happily Inc and, after some pretty big challenges, found her footing, started a business and moved on with her life. She does a decent job of avoiding Drew in their small town, until he makes her an offer she can’t refuse to help expand her mobile bartending business. And as fate often determines, all those old feelings and issues from the past manage to intrude on her life.
As only Mallery can, this author gives us a warm, inviting small town and flawed, endearing characters with the perfect amount of humor and quirk. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed her Fools Gold series and the books I’ve read in this one, so I was eager to read an early copy of Not Quite Over You. Not only is Drew and Silver’s story heartfelt, entertaining and evocative, but Mallery’s attention to even the smallest detail makes the story come alive. From the wonderful friendship between Silver and her friends to the push and pull between Drew and Silver, with an overbearing, opinionated parent and a herd of giraffes, this book has plenty to keep a reader entertained throughout. I’m thoroughly enjoying this series and definitely recommend it. Since the books stand alone, you can start with Silver and Drew’s story and then catch up on any you might have missed. In the meantime, I’ll be eagerly anticipating my next visit to Happily Inc.
Another wonderful story by Susan Mallery. Happily Inc not only is the setting of this great series, it also tells the reader how the story is going to make them feel.
We are back in Happily Inc, and this time the story belongs to Silver Tesdal and Drew Lovato.
These two were sweethearts in their youth. Life threw them a curveball, and they went their separate ways.
Now Drew is a banker and Silver , a business woman, whose loan has been declined by his bank.
The chemistry is still there. It was interesting to see these two interact.
Will they get their second chance?
It was interesting to see how the rest of the town was doing.
I have to confess that at times, I found the book a little slow moving and at times predictable.
Still , it was an enjoyable story.
For me , it was more of a 3.5, but I have a great deal of respect for the author, and thus I gave it a 4 star.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
