From New York Times, USA Today, and WSJ bestselling author Catherine Bybee comes the first novel in the delicious Not Quite series. Waitress and single mom Jessica “Jessie” Mann is practical to a fault. Even if she had time to date, which she doesn’t, she’d be determined to provide her son with a more secure upbringing than the one she had—and that would mean a husband with big bucks. When Jack … that would mean a husband with big bucks. When Jack Morrison—a sexy-as-sin, seemingly broke customer with a cowboy hat and a seductive grin—tries to flirt with her, she shoots him down. She doubts a carefree dreamer like Jack can provide the financial stability she needs. Yet with Christmas just weeks away, and Jessie not wanting to spend it alone, the charming Texan is proving hard to resist.
As the heir to the Morrison luxury hotel empire, Jack is used to being fawned over. But Jack needs someone who will fall in love with him—not his wealth. He’s set his sights on Jessie, though her hardened heart just might get in the way…To be sure, he conceals his true identity and offers to help Jessie find the rich husband she seeks. But Jack’s daring charade may rob him of the holiday wish he wants most of all…

Fun billionaire romance trope. What happens when a Texas billionaire meets the one when he’s driving his old truck and hanging out with the guys? He continues to play poor. Especially since the last girl friend wanted his money more than him. Diner waitress heroine has to put up with a lot on the graveyard shift, but this way she can be with her …
(Review of Audiobook) Not Quite Dating is a first listen for me by author, Catherine Bybee. I typically don’t listen much to contemporary romances, but this was a first in the series for this author. Well with that being said, I can say this was one story I was totally captivated by the characters and story line.
Jessie Mann, a waitress working …
First book in this series and could not put it down.
The ending really made this book for me. I admit that I struggled some with the heroine’s resistance and why she resisted. It’s just not something I can get behind, however she made up for it when her heart just couldn’t say no to Jack anymore for the reasons she was. I also really enjoyed Jack chasing Jessica, and I’m a sucker for a Cinderella …
I really enjoyed this book. This series by Catherine Bybee is one of my favorites.
This is my first book by Catherine Bybee, but it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the start to the Not Quite series and can’t wait to read the other books in this series. Not Quite Dating centers around single mom Jessie and Jack. Jessie is a waitress and meets Jack when he comes in to eat with his friends, after a weekend of drinking. They …
Good read! Matter of fact the whole series is great!!!
As a former single mom for many years, I related to the heroine who has a young child. She’s a waitress at Denny’s and is tired of dating losers. She wants more for her son–and herself–and decides she will not settle for less than a rich man. Enter a mega wealthy hero who keeps his real name and family money a secret since he’s tired of dating …
4 Stars for “Not Quite Dating”
This was a great introduction to the series. I fell in love with Jack and Jessie from the start.
I don’t know if it was me or what? But I felt rush, almost speed reading. I had to put the book down and catch my breath. What kind of magic is this? Anyway, I loved the story and the characters. It’s a light read with well-developed dialogs.
Jack is a hard-working billionaire and Jessie is a hard working single mom.
Jack is looking for a …
