This story has it all!
Great love story, the feels, the steam and so much fun! Makes you wanna visit Blue Moon and get to know this crazy fun town.
Rhythm of Life
Blue Moon is home to me. I know the people, I know the rhythm. I know the storefronts and the cracks in the sidewalk. Blue Moon could be the town I grew up in, the town I still live in. And that is endearing to me. It might seem over the top to some people, but I know it to be true.
I loved revisiting all my friends in Blue Moon, seeing what’s changed (babies!) and what’s stayed the same (Clementine!). This time around we find Niko taking a sabbatical, looking for something, desperate to make a connection to regain his bliss. He immediately finds that connection with brew pub manager Emma, who takes one look at the bad boy photographer and friend zones him. But Emma doesn’t stand a chance against Niko when he turns that charm on. And Niko doesn’t stand a chance against Emma’s determination to help him over his creative hump. I’m never disappointed in the push and pull, the laughs, the tears, the dance, the pursuit, the falling, the flailing; all the emotion I experience in this series.
I put this book down for two days near the end because I couldn’t bear for it to be over, I loved it so much. Tell all your friends about Blue Moon, it’s an enchanting place!
So I love small town romance series and this one has quickly made one of my favorites that I know I will want to reread. The author makes the characters and stories relatable, while making us laugh and want more. Niko and Emma’s story makes you feel and root hard for these two. Can’t wait to continue on with my binge reading.
I adored Emma and Niko’s story. It was kind of fun watching the single Niko fall to his knees for the no nonsense, take charge Emma. I’m telling you if you haven’t had a desire to go to Blue Moon yet, by book #4, I don’t know what to tell you, other than your bags should already be packed to try and find this great crazy town! These books just get better and better as the series continues.
Life in Blue Moon ebbs, flows and swirls through the community and catches Emma and Niko up in its thrall. The treasure and importance of family is reinforced almost hourly in so many ways. Emma Meril’s well ordered, tightly controlled and goal oriented life is completely upended by Niko Volkov. He’s in Blue Moon to regroup and find some perspective. What he finds is the first woman ever who does not give into his considerable charms. Try as she might to hold him at arm’s length, Niko slowly but surely worms his way into Emma’s life. First as acquaintances , then as friends, then as friends with benefits and finally falling head over. He gives her excitement and challenges her beliefs that she’s so firmly structured her life around. Can the womanizing artist and and the steadfast no-nonsense redhead really forge a life together?
Just finished book 4. I was always intrigued about Niko in book 1 of the series. If you’re reading this and have not read book 1; read no further and read book 1.
Hot shot photographer Nicolai Vulkov needs to recharge his creative energies. He’s just not feeling the glitz and glam of the beautiful people. So off to Blue Moon he goes to visit his BFF, Summer Pierce, her husband Carter, the twins and the crazy pets. Then he meets the very serious new manager of the Pierce Brewery, Emma, who happens to be Gia’s older sister.
Emma has been make to Blue Moon running the day-to-day operations of the Brewery with an iron fist. She left LaLa land to be close to her dad Franklin and sister Gia. She doesn’t have time nor the inclination to be hot over the hot bad boy that is Niko. Emma has a lot of abandonment issues but those issues can get in the way of having fun. Niko eventually wears her down, but Emma gets into her head too much.
I am really enjoying this series. I have to say that “emotional runners” are not my jam. Having said that, I enjoyed reading Niko and Emma’s love story. The Beautification Committee is a diabolical bunch lol.
Blue Moon 5 is where I will go next.
I’ve been blowing through this series as fast as I’m able. I LOVE LUCY SCORE! Blue Moon is quirky, funny, and heart-warming. This particular opposites attract story left me dying for more (of Blue Moon…everything was perfectly wrapped with Emma and Niko).
Another 4.5/5 for me! I have looked forward to Niko’s story since Carter and Summer’s story, and I was not disappointed! Well edited.
Niko, Summer’s best friend and famed photographer, shows up on Summer and Carter’s doorstep. They take him in, no questions asked. Well, a few, but they aren’t kicking him out. Niko is a little lost, not enjoying his life as much as he thinks he should. So, he thinks spending a little time with Summer and the Pierce clan and all the craziness that surrounds them will make him appreciate his life as is, and he can return to New York happy as a clam. Only, he doesn’t count on meeting Emma – Gia’s sister. Emma likes her little tightly controlled existence. She does not have room in her life for someone like Niko. It doesn’t really matter that he makes her feel alive and that he has an amazing heart. Nope. Not at all. Except Niko slowly worms his way into her life via the friendship door, and she finds herself looking forward to spending time with him. Will Emma let go and let Niko in? Will Niko find the spark he has been missing in his work? Will he wear Emma down and get her to open her heart to love? And will the Beautification Committee ever pay attention to them as a couple? I mean really, why is Emma being overlooked for love?
Once again, Ms. Score writes a thoroughly engaging story with lots of wit, laughter, craziness, and love. Niko is absolutely wonderful. I sure wanted to smack Emma, but at least her sisters and friends got her to get out of her own way. And, the Beautification Committee is certainly stepping up the psychological warfare! One more Merrill sister to go! Enjoy!
RATING 4.5 STARS
Not Part of the Plan is book four in the Blue Moon series by Lucy Score. You can definitely read this as a stand alone. I have not read any of the other books in the series and had no problem jumping right on in!
Emmaline (Emma) Merill came to Blue Moon almost one year ago, leaving her life in Los Angeles for life in a small, very quirky town, to be near her family. She is now managing John Pierce Brews, the town’s brewery and restaurant. She loves her job and loves this little town. She has all but decided that living here will be permanent.
Emma has a plan for her life. To find a very stable man that she is compatible with in every way. Love needn’t be a part of the equation, only similar goals. She’s experienced pain through loss before and never again will allow anyone the power to hurt her. She definitely doesn’t want to be attracted to the town’s newest addition, a bad boy in a leather jacket. But her body has other ideas. So do the town’s local match makers.
Nikolai (Niko) Vulkov is a famous photographer living in New York. Lately his work has lost it’s spark. The quality of his pictures sub-par. Something is missing and he needs some time away to try to figure out what it is. So off to Blue Moon he goes to visit his best friend. The minute he first met the fiery restaurant manager, he felt the pull to her. Niko is a known player. He is always seen with beautiful models and always just for one night. He’s here in Blue Moon to try to find out what his life is missing, and maybe he has found it, just not in the way he thought!
“In Blue Moon, you were good enough just because you existed.”
I adored this fun little town. Through watching his friends and their families, Niko experienced the close knit, loving relationships his life lacked. It made him take a long hard look at his life and the way he lived it. He can’t seem to get Emma off his mind. She seems determined to keep him in the friend zone. He’ll go along with that, for now. But he has no plans on staying there.
“I’m a fixer. You confided a problem to me, and now it gives me great joy to force solutions on you until the problem is solved.”
Emma is a fixer. When she realizes that Niko needs help, she wants to help him to find what he needs to get his life back on track. But in the process, she can’t ignore the attraction sizzling between them. Emma doesn’t do spur of the minute, she doesn’t do the live for today thing. She wants plans, goals, steady. Can she step out of her comfort zone for the time that Niko is here and just enjoy what they have? Can she just live in the present and not worry about the future?
“And that’s love. It can and should be the source of your greatest strength, not your biggest fear.”
This was such an adorable book. You can’t help but to love these two. And this town! I want to live there! Emma and Niko were perfect for each other. Somehow Niko just has to get her to drop her guard and let him in. Watching him work his magic was so much fun.
I enjoyed this book so much. My heart was caught up not only in these two but in the entire town right from the start. I most definitely will be going back to visit again.
4*
Nikolai is a photographer & summers best friend he’s hoping his visit will remind him how well life is having lost some of its sparkle.
Emma is Gia’s sister & runs the brewery she’s loving been with her family but isn’t looking for casual relationships.
When Nikolai meets her he’s overwhelmed by her beauty and desperately needs to convince her to be with him.
