It crushed me when he disappeared ten years ago.
Now he’s back… and my new roommate. Great.

Oh, and basically a recluse.

Positives: I liked the humor, the sense of unease and danger introduced by the villain, and the youthful backstories of hero builder Cade and heroine Fiona. The author also maintained some dramatic tension by feeding details of their past in pieces as the story progressed and ended with no cliffhangers. For those looking for longing glimpses of ripped abs (and more), and hot intimate interludes, this romance does deliver.
But the story had an unevenness to it and occasionally bogged down in unnecessary and prosaic details that detracted from the romance. I never really connected with either Cade or Fiona. She seemed a bit petty and judgmental, and, ambivalent: does she want him to sweep her off her feet and carry her off to a happy ending or not? And, as for Cade, I could not understand his rationale for the major decisions he makes, both past and present, that affect their relationship. Yes, he explains, but I just found his explanations lacking.
Fiona’s pal Esme and Grammie, the adventurous grandmother who raised her, provided some welcome comic relief. I hope Esme gets her own story at some point in the future.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
A great second chance romance. Cade and Fiona grew up together, Fiona raised by her grandparents, and Cade had a rough home life so he found his second home with Fionas grandparents. Sometimes life just does not work out, secrets are kepy and things are left unsaid. Brought together by Grammie over 10 years later, there is much still not said and feelings still there. This book is amazing, well written and thought out. The main story is the relationship of Fiona and Cade, but the story line with Grammie is awesome. Loved the HEA.
This was a quick little read that was super sweet. I loved Grammie and Cade but I have to say that Fiona…well lets just say that this character needs a good bitch slap. She grated my every last nerve. It is good that Cade loves her anyway.
Fiona and Cade met one summer when she and her grandparents went to there country home. It took them a bit but eventually became the best of friends. Over the years they grew closer and closer until something happened and Cade walked away.
Now ten years later Fiona gets a call from her Grammie that brings her back to the country house. Shortly after she gets there there is a loud knock on the door and when she opens the door it’s the last person she ever expected to see again. Will Fiona keep running from the past or will she finally stop and get the answers she never thought she would??
A good story, I enjoyed this book but it got a little long winded in the middle after they finally get together. It was fun to watch the two people who have loved each other since they were kids finally figure it out. There are three parts to this book.
