Fun & funny dragon shifter romance. Loved the beginning when the heroine pepper-sprayed the dragon. Cute read.
*WARNING* contains adult situations
Eoin is a century old dragon shifter who left his clan. Eoin is an artist who isn’t doing so well at the moment, but people sre to afraid of him to tell him what they don’t like.
Angie is baring keeping her scratching business in the black. The werewolf alpha think Angie should be his. Everything in Angie’s business keeps breaking. Then on top of everything else this dragon man comes in and scares all her customers away!
The female lead is spunky and strong. The male lead is protective and supportive. I really like imaginative image of Angie’s dragon. It’s a cute story worth reading.
Annie Nicholas is a new author for me. I always go into those situations with extreme caution trying not to get to excited so I cannot be disappointed. Well i was not disappointed. I loved this book. It is witty, sassy, sarcastic and fun. A romantic comedy heavy on the comedy and hot in the sex department. Definitely for people a fan of authors like kerrilyn sparks or Jeanine frost.
Angie is a spit fire. a complete hellcat in human form. Eoin is a dragon used to getting his eay. their first meeting has her macing him in the face…yes mace. it only gets better from there. 🙂 every encounter is interesting and either full of tender romance, hot sex or arguments with her winning. This book was great. I cannot wait for more from this author.
Loved this book look forward to reading more from this author books are well written and funny
Not His Dragon is book one in the Not This series by Annie Nicholas.
It’s fun, cute, and silly. I enjoyed the town with it’s shifters. I liked that the shifters live opening amongst the humans. I liked how our hero and heroine first meet and I had fun with their romance.
Eoin is yummy. I do so love dragon shifters. I had fun with his relationship with Angie and how it grew. I also liked Angie, her business, and how she interacted with Eoin.
I did feel that their where things that could have been flushed out more. The world and character development was lacking a little. Their was a lot of bits and pieces of information randomly given out without enough to make much sense. As for Angie’s best friend, Beth, she felt more like a work acquaintance then a BFF. I also would have liked more on the wolves that are always hanging around Angie and her shop.
We do meet a lot of appealing secondary characters and hopeful we will see more of them in other books in this series.
I had fun reading Not His Dragon. It’s an easy quick read that took me on a fun adventure.

Title: Not His Dragon

Designation: Paranormal Romance, Full-Length Standalone, No Cliffhanger

My Rating: Five Deliciously Cute Stars*****
Wow! Another fabulous story from Annie Nicholas! Not His Dragon is a cute, imaginative, fast-paced, fun-filled standalone paranormal tale filled to the brim with danger, drama, suspense, romance, humor and of course, as always, lots of Nicholas’ trademark snark. It’s exceptionally well-crafted and edited with a beautifully written his and her third person narrative. The dialogue is smart, sassy, well-executed and flows effortlessly. But without a doubt, my favorite component of every Nicholas story is the remarkable cast of unique, imaginative and engaging characters who always grab my attention and steal my heart. I became instantly smitten with our two protagonists, new business owner and ‘scratcher’ extraordinaire, Angie Weldon, and handsome reclusive dragon shifter and aspiring artist, Eoin Grant. They were a match made in heaven! If you’re looking for a sweet, sexy, fun, laugh-out-loud-funny, full-length standalone paranormal romance, then this book is calling your name!
Angie Weldon finally has a place to call home…kinda. Her apartment is only a dump but at least it’s better than living on the street. Been there…done that…and hopefully, never again! Ever since losing her parents in an automobile accident when she was only 10 years old, Angie has struggled to find her place in the world. Growing up in foster homes and orphanages, she’s never really felt liked she belonged anywhere…until now. Her dreams are finally within her reach if she can only make a go of her new business, Scratch Your Itch. Fate was definitely on her side when she was gifted her unnaturally long and sharp set of claws instead of regular pretty little fingernails. If she was gonna be stuck with the things, she might as well make good use of them, right? So yes, Scratch Your Itch is exactly what it sounds like…she scratches the hides of shifters…for money…and they love it! And New Port is full of all kinds of shifters! Now, if only she didn’t have to spend everything she makes on repairs for all the things that keep going wrong in her shop, life would be good. Well, almost good. If the Alpha of the local wolf pack would leave her alone, she’d be fine. Oh, and if the stupid but very handsome, sexy dragon who rules the town would just stop sniffing her, chasing her, and insisting she’s a dragon, everything would be absolutely perfect. Sorta! Oh my! What is his problem? She’s not anything but just plain old human, right? I guess we’ll see!
Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some dreamy sex scenes! Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
I laughed a lot throughout this book. Annie Nicholas did a great job building this world and the characters in it. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun read. I look forward to laughing with the next book in the series as well.
Not His Dragon – Annie Nicholas – Angie is a bit of a walking disaster. Her shifter back scratching business would be more lucrative if the building she was using didn’t need constant repairs. When she literally runs into the only dragon in town, she catches his interest. This had great world building, a cool cast of characters, and some lovely snark! Happy Reading!
What a great way to begin a courtship – not! Grabbing an unsuspecting female on a city street and demanding why she is trespassing on your territory is not a good way to introduce yourself. I suppose Eoin can be excused a little – after all, he has not interacted with people much in the last century, so it is to be expected that his social interaction skills are lacking. Erin makes him stretch though, prickly and independent product of the foster care system that she was. I enjoyed this lighthearted fun and funny read; it is just what I needed after a stressful day.
Eoin and Angie are adorable and endearing!
Both stuck in their ways, both surprised as all get out when they run into one another. And the chemistry sizzles when they’re together even as they fight it.
The hilarity and the compassion and the charm and the characterization and so much more makes it a fun and engaging read!
I thought I would struggle through this book as I’ve never actually read any “shifters” books before, but once I started, I couldn’t stop. The language is simple, the dialogue is funny, the plot is compelling. Give me a romance about human-dragons that’s this easy to read any day.
Not His Dragon is a cute read about a girl who’s never been normal who meets a dragon shifter and has herself an adventure!
The world Mrs. Nicholas setup has shifters and other paranormals as known and accepted members of society, so this isn’t a keeping it secret story. Angie, our heroine, actually runs as business that caters specifically to paranormals, even though they don’t consider her one of them. Eoin is our dragon of the hour and is a brooding, artistic recluse who stumbles upon Angie one day and can’t seem to stay away from her. She’s spunky and entertaining, so I don’t really blame him.
The story is steamy, romantic, funny in parts, and even has some action. There isn’t a whole lot of emotional angst, just a smidgen really, and it’s not a deep philosophical journey. If you’re in the mood for an easy and fun read, this one is a go. I will read the rest of the series for sure.
Absolutely loved this fun world and the great characters in it. What a cool job she has. Loved the back and forth and how she doesn’t take any crap. Great, unique supernatural romance. Enjoyed the “meet cute”. This is going to be a great series!
I loved Eion and Angie. Angie is full of spunk and sass. Eion is very alpha. He’s a little dark and moody, protective, loyal and totally lovable.
The chemistry between the two is off the charts. I loved their antagonistic but playful banter. It had me laughing out loud on several occasions.
Even though Angie doesn’t want to admit it there is no doubt the two belong together. I really loved how supportive and patient Eion was with Angie.
I can’t wait to dive into the next book.
This was my first book I read by this author and I loved this book by Annie Nicholas. This paranormal romance book has slap-stick comedy that entranced me from the beginning when our (h) Angie burned herself with coffee then later pepper-sprayed our (H) dragon-shifter Eoin in the eyes. This was just the beginning of the calamities and problems in this book; 1.There’s Angie believing she human only to find out later she is a dragon but a magic spell is blocking her ability to shift. 2.There’s two other dragon suitors who come into town to court Angie which brings problems for Eoin. Will Angie and Eoin find a way through all the obstacles to their HEA? I giggled and rooted for Angie and Eoin till the end in this ARC by Booksprout.
Any relationship that starts with a pepper spray must be golden. The idea of the book is super fun, witty and refreshing. He is this scary dragon who everyone fears and she is a strange wannabe shifter/human who gets him all twisted. Amazing series I am off to read the next one.
Wow! Such a refreshing book with lots of surprises, unexpected twists and turns, and unpredictable characters! Loved it! True love at its best! Her wacky bad luck seem to follow her wherever she goes, the misadventures are magical and entertaining! The characters are awesome and real friendships abound! The dragons are unpredictable and all want the same thing, her!
This is the start of a great series – Eoin is a dragon who knows Angie is his mate. The problem is that Angie has no idea she’s a dragon. Cue the hilarious journey of discovery…
NOT HIS DRAGON is the first book in the Not This series. Though best read in the order of release, that’s not what I’ve done. I recommend starting at the beginning and reading them all and in the order of release.
After reading (audiobook) NOT HIS WEREWOLF, I searched my kindle for anything else I might have from Annie Nicholas and found a few. This is the first of those reviews. I’ll try not to gush, but I will warn you that I absolutely loved this book.
What a fun story! The characters are each unique and individually loveable. There is a fun mystery to solve – why does Angie smell like a she-dragon if she can’t shift? Then there is Eion, alphatastic, yummy, sexy, artistic Eion the dragon. I’ll take one of those, please!
The humor kept me turning the pages, including trying to figure out how to read while I worked, and reading way past my bedtime – worth it!
I have one more book from this series and I will be diving straight into NOT HIS CHRISTMAS.
