The Bible tells us again and again that we are children of God, but for many, the idea of “God the Father” is confusing at best and painful at worst. Not Forsaken introduces readers to a God who desperately wants to know them and be the healing, steadfast presence in their life they may be missing. What makes us feel forsaken by God? Is it because we feel broken and unworthy of God’s love? Maybe … feel broken and unworthy of God’s love? Maybe we’ve suffered deep wounds from those who were supposed to love us unconditionally. Bestselling author and pastor Louie Giglio shines a light on how flawed relationships of our past can ultimately affect how we see God – and ourselves.
What do you think of when you think about God? What do you think God thinks about you?
The answers to these questions inform everything about who you are and who you are becoming. It is vital we understand this; because if we have a flawed view of God, we’ll have a flawed view of our own life story.
To live fully and embrace all that God has for us, we must understand who He is, free from the baggage we have accumulated over a lifetime of broken relationships with broken people.
You are what God says you are. Beautiful. Valuable. Whole.
Order Not Forsaken right now, and begin your journey toward understanding what it means to find your identity in Christ and a relationship with a Father in heaven who loves you.
“In Not Forsaken, my friend, Pastor Louie Giglio brilliantly and beautifully helps us form a freeing, scriptural image of God. Don’t put this important and timely resource down.”

In this book, Lou Giglio does a beautiful job of presenting God as our Heavenly Father who loves us with an everlasting love. The author gives us a balanced view of God’s love and mercy versus His justice and righteousness. He goes into detail about how our views of our earthly father can give us a wrong perception of God as our Heavenly Father and the relationship we can have with Him. He highlights the relationship pictured in the Bible between Jesus and God the Father. The author also writes about forgiveness and how bitterness can poison our lives.
Lou Giglio shares his heart with us all throughout this book. He speaks of his relationship with his own father and how that influenced him in the early years of his life. I’d recommend this book to anyone who has faced heartache because of their relationship, or lack of one, with their ather. But this book is for all of us to fully realize the wonderful love, grace, and mercy that God offers to each one of us.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
I’m thankful author Louie Giglio wrote Not Forsaken, about the Fatherhood of God. Particularly, appropriate for reading near Father’s Day, as my own father committed suicide when I was an infant on the very day I was to come home to the family. Should have been a celebration but he turned it into a tragedy. This book is a MUST READ ! Earthly fathers are not perfect, they can be abusive, absent, neglectful, or dead, like mine. But God our Heavenly Father never leaves, forsakes, or hurts us. His love is unconditional and eternal. This book is timely and life changing for all of us ,but especially to those who have yet to make the connection with God the Father themselves. Highly recommend
“Open your eyes and see how astonishingly beautiful He is.”
I enjoyed listening to the audio version of Not Forsaken by Louie Giglio. He also is the narrator and I do believe it added a depth of authenticity to his storytelling to hear him recall stories about his own dad. His persona is engaging and witty and had me chuckling a few times.
Giglio’s statements relating to how we think about God are right on target because so often we base our conclusions on who God is by what we think about our own fathers, who aren’t in any way, shape or form perfect.
I recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about God, the deep and abiding love of a true Father, and for healing that we all need. Not Forsaken points us to the source of all goodness and perfect love, our heavenly Father!
Philippians 1:6 ~ And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
