A full-length novel of contemporary romance.Hannah Davis says: “I hate Auld Lang Syne!”After all, this year brought Hannah nothing but the memory of her wandering fiance marrying someone else behind her back. Now, sitting alone at a bar in Coronado, California, on December 31, she decides to do something radical…and lets a brooding good-looker take her to bed. But when another woman bursts into … another woman bursts into their room much too early on New Year’s morning, Hannah realizes this guy’s more complicated than she thought…
Ex-Secret Service agent Tanner Hart screwed-up, big-time. Hoping to temporarily boot some of the ghosts from his life, he hooked up with this sexy stranger for a hot one-night stand–only to discover she’s the woman he agreed to protect…from men just like him!
But a new year is a time for fresh beginnings. Despite the danger, the hoopla, and the hangovers, if Hannah’s brave enough to risk her heart again–and Tanner’s wise enough to realize he deserves it–maybe this one will be different.

Wonderful
This is a great second book to the series. Tanner finally finds some peace after the incident. Hannah comes to San Diego to find closure. Desiree is just trying to fit in and Troy is Tanner’s brother. 2 new couple for the new year.
This book started out pretty funny when Hannah left her small hometown and went on a holiday. Things started to go wrong for her before she left the airport. She had never left the little town she grew up in where everybody knew everybody else so she didn’t know how to handle the completely different world she found herself in.
After finding out her fiance had been cheating on her, Hannah stayed clear of men. But 4 years of this lonely, secluded life was enough so she went on a holiday to Coronado, California. Her uncle was concerned about her taking the trip so he contacted Tanner Hart to watch out for her when she got there. Since he had been Tanner’s boss in the Secret Service, Tanner couldn’t refuse the request/order.
Hannah’s holiday started out badly when she had her bags and purse stolen in the airport. Having nowhere to go she went into the bar she was to meet Tanner in the next day. There she hooked up with a one-night-stand. Something she had never done before but since she wanted to change from the predictable woman she had always been, she went with it. Add to that, she didn’t have anywhere to stay and she thought it was a perfect decision. Until the OMG moment when they realized they hadn’t given their real names and Hannah had actually slept with Tanner.
This was a steamy story with lots of sex scenes. Hannah sure did let her inner wild child out. I liked the relationship between Dez and Troy. He fought his attraction to her for the longest time but couldn’t keep putting off his sexual desire. The mystery of the bad guy attempting to kill Dez because of her wealthy father, Prince al-Maddah, added to this interesting story.
This was certainly an entertaining read, but I wasn’t riveted. That was mainly because there was so much explicit sex. I say a good writer can write a wonderful romance without detailed bedroom scenes.
Good story enjoyed the story
Tons of typos
Quick fun read.
Some humorous parts
Easy to read romantic story
Nothing special
Enjoyed the story. Love and redemption and happily ever after at least for Tanner and Hannah!
Sweet good read. Some spelling mistakes. Would definitely recommend.
Thought it was ok ….
Enjoyed this very much.
Too much language
Hannah Davis is a sweet second grade teacher who has pretty much drifted through her life, allowing her family the direction, after her sister was killed in an automobile accident. After finding out that her fiancee of four years married another woman without even telling her or his parents she needs to let loose and decided to take a small vacation to Coronado, while secretly planning to confront Caroline the bride. Meanwhile her Uncle Geoff, who works for the Secret Service has requested that Tanner Hart, a Secret Service agent on suspension, look out for her. Tanner has been celibate for 11 months, doing pertinence for his last service when a fellow agent was killed and his best friend lost an eye. Hannah arrives at the airport, on New year’s Eve, where her luggage and purse, containing her cell phone, wallet and id are all stolen. Without anywhere to go, she stumbles into the bar owned by Tanner’s brother and into Tanner’s arm, although they both give each other false names. So begins a comedy of errors, with danger and intrigue thrown in. There is a second romance going on between Tanner’s brother Troy and the source of all Tanner’s problems, Desiree. This book was delightful to read as every other book that I have read from this author. The characters are all well developed, though often making stupid decisions.
Ridgeway writes a great book and this is a fun one.
Loved everything except the abrupt ending with no epilogue
Cute story but so many typos.
Bad ending and the story was not believable. The secondary story line was Much better but we didn’t get much of it
This has a great twist to the story! It’s a great read!
Too wordy for me.
