A coming of age story that will resonate with many readers young and old, Christina is your typical teenager going through the ups and downs of friendships ,and first love , when a unspeakable act happens to her .With the Grace of God , she finds a way to cope , finds a support system through a very loving mentor and friend. Through her new found faith she finds that she will be able to over come and get through anything .
Not Again was difficult to read knowing a young teenager was sexually assaulted. The book dealt with Christina’s self worth after the incident. I really liked this book but the tertiary characters needed more depth. Christina’s mother was too apathetic and her brother didn’t add anything to the story. He could have been left out of the book completely. Fortunately she had Miss Brenda, a trusted adult to help guide her through the aftermath, even though she never told Miss Brenda what happened. Overall it was a very good book and I recommend it.
Finding your path in a teenage world can be quite challenging. This wonderfully written book kept me turning the pages. I loved stepping back in a time when I grew up and related to the teenage struggles the main characters faced. The great references to the 80s was on point. I love the Christian twist and the verses that lay within the pages!!
A little hard to read, in parts, but worth the time.
Very powerful YA story, brought back a lot of memories for me!
