Not a Good Death: Agents of Dart Series Book Two
by Naomi Bellina
4 out of 5 stars
This romantic suspense story will have you filling the pages to the very end. Not a Good Death is the second book in the Agents of Dart series and is a fantastic follow up piece for book one. While each book can be read as a standalone, I am a huge advocate for reading a series in book order.
This story follows Lilly and Dillon who are both agents of DART, a division of the FBI. Lilly is a seasoned agent with DART and Dillion has just finished his training and has been assigned to work with Lilly who is now both is partner on and off the job.
On their very first assignment together, everything goes haywire and now they are neck deep in a murder investigation.
I enjoyed these characters very much and while at times I found their exchanges more bickering than banter, the plot moved along smoothly and the story was very gripping. A solid 4 out of 5 stars for any lovers of the thriller, romance, or mystery genres.
Not a Good Death: Agents of Dart Series Book Two was a thrilling 4 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning witnessing a murder of a teenage girl and another scared for her life. At least she had enough sense to stay quiet and not give herself away. When it’s safe she flees and knows there is only one person that she can call for help.
When Lily and Dillion go on their first job for DART, they get more than they expected. While trying to get the scientist to leave with them he gets a phone call, a call that causes him to run. Lily and Dillion are also a couple and while working on this case they encounter some challenges.
We get danger, murder, suspense and so much more in this read. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from Naomi Bellina and I really enjoyed it. This can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading more in this series and from Naomi. 1-click and get started today.
I dived straight into this book straight after finishing book 1 and I was again not disappointed. This book is brilliantly read, and this author is becoming one that I shall eagerly look out for in the future. I love her writing style, it’s so easy flowing and yet tells so much. The story is engaging, and the characters are interesting with depth.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
4* ARC Review – Good mystery and Continuation of this Series
I received the ARC of Not a Good Death from Book Sprout in exchange for this review. This is the second book in the DART Agents series, and I have been fortunate enough to have read the first book in the series also through another ARC program. Even though this book could be read as a standalone story, I would recommend reading the first one, so you have more background.
This book opens with Agents Lily Brume and Dillion Hurst are sent on their first official mission for DART, a division of the FBI. Dillion has recently completed his training and is on a probationary period with DART and with his partner both in work and life, Lily. They are sent to the small town of Deacon to retrieve a scientist to question him about his research. Although it sounds like a simple task, everything goes wrong at once and this leads them to question both their mission and whether they can work together. Also, there has been a murder in the town of a young girl that seems to have some connection with the scientist they are looking for and adds to the drama.
Overall, it is a good story that keeps you reading to see how they will resolve their issue and maybe help solve the crime in Deacon. This case also acts as a driver for them to work out their issues as a couple and partners. I really like Lily and Dillion as a couple they have great chemistry and are even good as colleagues. There is a learning curve, as she is the senior agent, but I think they will work that out. I am anxious for the next book to see where it takes them.
Book 2 in the new Dart Series, It can be read as a stand alone, but I think you should read book 1 for the understanding of the relationship between Dillion and Lily. I kept trying to figure out why this series is different. It isn’t so much a story that takes me away completely, but as if your sitting in the car with Dillion and Lily, or walking with them as they discuss life, their relationship etc. I enjoyed the mystery of this suspense, and I like that fact that I was surprised at who the culprit really ones. We meet people who are good and bad, just like in life. Mystery, suspense, hot sex, relationships. Thank you Naomi and Booksprout for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Not a Good Death (Agents of Dart Series Book 2) by Naomi Bellina
4 stars
Lilly and Dillon are not only partners at work but also outside of work. They learn pretty quickly that its not a good combination and is much harder to follow rules when feelings are involved. I have not read the first book nor anything else from this author. But after this, I’ll be sure to go back and read everything!
I was so caught up in this book to see what happened next. A page turner, so clear your schedule as you won’t be able to put this down.
“Not A Good Death” had me gripping the edge of my seat! One part steamy, one part mysterious, and wholly suspenseful, I couldn’t put it down! Definitely a page-turner! With an incredible storyline and amazing plot, it will have you enthralled from the very beginning. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the Agents of Dart series goes!

Not a Good Death by Naomi Bellina is the second book in the Agents of Dart series. This book can be read as a standalone, you do not need to have read the previous book first.
As my first read by this author I wasn’t sure what to expect. I will be honest and say the blurb didn’t really grab my attention too much however the reviews it received definitely caught my interest. I found the book to be fast paced and exciting in a few parts. You could really feel the suspense throughout the book.
I’m not overly sure how I felt about Lily and Dillon choosing to work together given they are together. However that being said I think the author did a great job of balancing the two aspects of the story. I definitely warmed to them both by the end of the book.
The author has a great flow to her story and it is that which really kept me reading. I enjoyed the way the book was developed and the picture that was painted. I will definitely be looking into more work by this author.

This is book two in the Agents of Dart series. I didn’t read book one but there was enough information in this one that I wasn’t lost at all. If you want to know how Lily and Dillon met, you should read book one. This is Dillon’s first mission as a Dart agent and Lily is training him. It was supposed to be an easy mission but everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Lily always follows the rules, they are there for a reason. Dillon shows her that sometimes rules need to be bent to accomplish a mission. The book is filled with danger and action. Lily and Dillon need to learn to work together if they are going to survive and catch a killer.
Like the best fires, this story builds slowly to make sure that it burns stable and hot. It takes a little bit to build the different characters and plot lines. But the characters and the suspense have a lot of depth. There are many twists and turns as Lily and Dillon learn to be partners in the field as well as in life. Things continue to heat up as they transition from a simple witness retrieval to catching a murderer. It also offers one of the best lines I’ve found “Agents of DART get taken down by a blow dart, we’ll never live this down.” This is a story that will draw you in and keep you intrigued.
Not a Good Death is the second book in the Agents of Dart Series by Naomi Bellina. Naomi Bellina has a talent to grab the reader from the first page to the last page. It is a mystery and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot line has many twists and turns. The characters are complex and relatable. The story brings the question of can two people who are involved can work together. Lillian and Dillion is a couple who work together and are involved romantically. Will these partners prove that you can work and be involved? Read this story to the end to find out the answer to this question and more.
Not a Good Death is a novel by by Naomi Bellina. This is my first novel by this author.
Lily Blume and Dillon Hurst are partners and working together together for an assignment. Things changed when their assignment runs off after attacking them and a girl is found dead.
With Lily in danger it’s hard to keep personal life away from work.
This was an amazing story. Lily and Dillion are more than just work partners and letting your feelings get in the way can cause someone to get hurt if the killer strikes again.
With a good mystery and storyline, I highly recommend this.
Not a Good Death: Agents of Dart Series Book Two (Romantic Suspense) by Naomi Bellina is a story full of danger and mayhem, mystery and murder and thrills. I loved the MC’s and their journey as they get pulled into a mission that doesn’t go to plan. I have not read anything from Naomi before and I enjoyed it so much I am going back to get my hands on the first book. Whilst I didn’t read the first book I enjoyed this one but I kept wondering what came before throughout the story.
DART Agents Lily Brume and Dillion Hurst are not only lovers but they are also now on their first official mission together. Whilst Lily has been in the job for a few years, Dillion has only recently joined having served in the military. What is supposed to be a simple retrieval turns in to something more sinister. Can they continue to be partners in life and work and make it work or will the stress pull them a part?
This captivating and enthralling read makes me eager for what is to come.
Naomi Bellina was a new to me author when I picked up Not a Good Death solely because I loved the cover and the blurb available. I had no idea this was actually book two of the Agents of Dart series of hers, but it didn’t affect my ability to enjoy this book. I will probably go back and check out the first one now that I know it exits however.
This book was pretty gripping and I loved how the writing kept me just slightly on the edge of my seat as I read. I was a bit hesitant that the main characters, Lily and Dillion, are partners in love as well as work. Usually these types of books become a tad cliche for me, but this one definitely didn’t go there and I was grateful. I loved that the focus was the crimes and the adventures and obstacles that they encounter while trying to solve the case they are on. The romance was a way to break up the suspense with some laughter and love and I think everything balanced out well. I look forward to seeing what else is available by Naomi Bellina and am anxious to see what the next book brings!
This is a great crime thriller with lots of twists and turns.
Lily and Dillon work for a government team called DART. They are sent to bring a guy called Joel Wilson in for questioning regarding his former employment with a government company.
But things aren’t what they seem and when a young girl is found murdered Lily and Dillon have to find the link between the murder and the person they were sent to bring in.
Added to the stress is the fact that lily and Dillon are partners in life as well as partners on the job. Can Dillon learn to see Lily as his boss and follow her rules or will their professional relationship destroy their personal one.
Not a Good Death (Agents of Dart Series Book 2)
By Naomi Bellina
5 out of 5 stars
The story Not a Good Death (Agents of Dart Series Book 2) by Naomi Bellina is a romantic suspense book. The story will pull you in and I found myself not able to put it down until the final page. I was hooked on both the storyline and the characters. I loved reading about Lily Blume and Dillon Hurst. They both work for DART. A group that works for the government. They are told they are on a retrieval assignment. It turns into the search for a killer. Will Lily and Dillon find the one that started killing with a teen girl and then strikes again? There is a personal relationship between Lily and Dillon. They care for each other. Dillon is protective of Lily. Lily worries about Dillon not being a good fit to work for DART. What does the future hold for Lily and Dillon? Will they learn to have faith in each other? Read this book to find out. There are times when the suspense in this story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen next. There are also romantic moments as well. I also enjoyed reading about many of the other characters in this story and their interactions with Lily and Dillon. I love mystery/thrillers and this book is a good example of the kind of book that will keep you guessing. I highly recommend reading it.
3.5 stars
NOT A GOOD DEATH is book 2 in the “Agents of Death” series. I did not read book 1 and will admit to going back to read a few of those “let me recap the entire story instead of actually reviewing the book” reviews to make sure I knew what was going on as I cracked the binding on this one. I really think if I hadn’t done that, I would have been lost.
I rated this book a 3.5* because I found the story frustrating at times. The main protagonists are well educated and trained to work well under pressure and yet they were both just a little too whiny and unprofessional for me to actually embrace them. Their bickering was NOT cute.
The story is told from multiple points of view in different locations which kept the pace of the story moving. This is a romantic suspense and it took a while to build up to the how/what/who/why of the suspense part. Once I was able to understand it all, the story flew and took twists and turns that kept me interested in the plot. This is a story that I did skim so I could get to the end and see how everything resolved itself.
While the story line is quick, the writing is very detailed and it is obvious that the author puts a lot of hard work into her craft. I always admire a writer who is able to follow a thought through and actually publish a book.

Not a Good Death is the second book in the Agents of DART series by Naomi Bellina. This is my first read from Ms. Bellina and after reading this very intriguing romantic suspense, it certainly won’t be my last. How have I not discovered her books before now? All this time I could have been exploring her work- something I plan to remedy very soon. This story can be read as a standalone, without feeling like you are missing anything. But the characters have intrigued me enough to want to go back and see where it all began, by reading book #1.
Lily Blume and Dillon Hurst are partners in life, and also newly appointed partners at their work. They have been assigned their first official mission for DART (Damage Avert and Rescue Team- a specialized division of the FBI). Lily has been a DART Agent for five years, but Dillon has only just joined the team, having been a soldier previously he completed the training in record time. Now they just need to prove that they can work well together in the field.
Their mission tests their skills, and their unity- especially when things don’t go quite to plan. With murder, danger, drama, chemistry, suspense, mystery, tension, and intrigue- this book has all the ingredients required to make it a captivating read. I wonder what adventures await in the next book/s.
Intriguing!
Thank you, Ms. Bellina!
