Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be.
Charles Talent Manx has a gift of his own. He likes to take children for rides in his 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the vanity plate NOS4A2. In the Wraith, he and his innocent guests can slip out of the everyday world and onto hidden roads that lead to an astonishing playground of amusements he calls Christmasland. The journey across the highway of Charlie’s twisted imagination transforms his precious passengers, leaving them as terrifying and unstoppable as their benefactor.
Then comes the day when Vic goes looking for trouble…and finds her way to Charlie. That was a lifetime ago. Now, the only kid ever to escape Charlie’s evil is all grown up and desperate to forget. But Charlie Manx hasn’t stopped thinking about Victoria McQueen. On the road again, he won’t slow down until he’s taken his revenge. He’s after something very special—something Vic can never replace.
As a life-and-death battle of wills builds, Vic McQueen prepares to destroy Charlie once and for all—or die trying.

Everything Joe Hill writes is amazing. This story is so original and innovative. It’s terrifying and mesmerizing.
a very scary book didn’t want to read at night only in the daytime
Joe Hill is an awesome writer. I read everything he puts out. I haven’t been disappointed yet. His description of places and characters envelopes you into the book and that’s why I love to read.
Scary! Well written, but hard to follow at times so you need to read carefully and pay attention to details.
The apple did’nt fall very far from the King tree.
I just not like the whole premise of this book
Well, I guess we know who is taking horrors number one spot when Stephen King retires

Joe’s best work. I can’t wait for the sequal.
Great book!!! Like his dad in so many ways, twists, turns, suspense, fear and terror. Dont miss this one.
I think I just might have a favorite new author!
My first Joe Hill book, but not the last.
I read Heart Shaped dox by this author and really loved it, but I didn’t like this book so much. I found it really rather hum drum. Even though I like horror/fiction, I found this rather unbelievable.
Loved this book. Not often have I found a book I didn’t want to put down. This is one of them. If they could do the special effects, this would make a really good movie. First story I have read by this author and won’t be the last.
Typical Stephen King. Enjoyed it.
Love a book that makes you tense up
